An Li took two steps back and examined the person on the bed. After a moment, she said calmly, "I'm a doctor. I would do the same thing to anyone else today. It has nothing to do with personal feelings."
"I don't believe it."
"You're tired, take a good rest! You're just an old man, don't mess around anymore, I'm going back."
"Then I..."
"No need to send it."
An Li turned around and glanced at him. Gong Shaohua froze on the bed, not daring to move. He could only watch her leave.
Gong Ming was very sensible and waited downstairs. Guessing that she would come down soon, he greeted her with a smile without trying to keep her.
"Auntie An, are you leaving?"
An Li nodded: "Keep a good eye on your father and don't let him mess around again."
Gong Ming chuckled softly, "How could he listen to anything I say? I'm afraid you're the only one in the world who can control him."
An Li frowned and glanced at Gong Ming.
Gong Ming realized that he had spoken out of turn and quickly changed the subject.
"I've arranged a car, and the driver will take you home safely. You've worked hard tonight, and you should get some rest early when you get home. I'll visit you again when you're free."
As Gong Ming spoke, he handed over his personal business card, which only had his name and phone number on it.
An Li glanced at it, took it, and placed it in her purse, tacitly agreeing with him. Gong Ming was very sensible and personally escorted the person to the car. He watched the car drive away from the manor and disappear from his sight before turning back inside. That look was somewhat inconsistent with his cynical appearance.
As soon as he stepped into the entrance hall, Gong Shaohua was standing on the stairs looking at him.
Their eyes met and Gong Ming couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Dad, next time you act, tell me in advance. Aren't you afraid that I won't be able to keep up the role and make Aunt An angry again? I'll really ignore you."
Gong Shaohua snorted lightly: "No matter what, I still beat Gu Zhiwei tonight. Otherwise, he would be too proud. If the Gu Group had not been taken over by Ali's son, I would..."
Halfway through his words, a sharp light flashed in Gong Shaohua's eyes.
He quickly turned his head back, and heard Gong Ming's helpless laughter in his ears: "So, you're just going to let me take the blame for you? It was clearly you who asked me to spread Aunt An's past, and in the end, it was my recklessness that made me do it."
"Why should we be so clear about the distinction between father and son? If I don't give her some provocation, she might forget the hurt Gu Zhiwei caused her. Ali is the most vulnerable. What's more, Gu Zhiwei has five children."
"But I see that none of his children are willing to speak up for him. Especially Lu Anning!"
He couldn't help but think of what his family had said in the banquet hall not long ago, and couldn't help laughing out loud.
"If Gu Zhiwei gets pissed off to death by his child one day, I wouldn't be surprised. Besides, that person is most likely Lu Anning."
Although she had revealed her identity, she was reluctant to change her name back to Miss Gu. He became more and more interested in the fifth Miss Gu.
Unfortunately, she's already married.
Gong Shaohua saw through his son's thoughts at a glance: "Are you interested in your Aunt An's daughter?"
"I should have come back earlier. Now, she's married to someone else."
"So what if they're married? Divorce isn't uncommon these days."
"Dad, this... isn't good, is it?"
"Hmph! Then just pretend I didn't say anything! I'm going to take a break. You clean up the rest of the stall."
Gong Ming twitched his lips, looking at his father's departing figure with a look of helplessness on his face. He was already in his forties, a man who could make clouds and rain with a flick of his hand. How could he still act like a child, taking pleasure in bullying his own son...
Gong Shaohua was halfway there when he suddenly remembered something and turned around to call out to Gong Ming.
"Oh right! Didn't you say that your Aunt An likes her daughter the most? Pick a suitable time and ask her out for dinner for me."
"You want to have dinner with Lu Anning?"
Gong Shaohua nodded seriously: "Just make an appointment with her for me, don't worry about the rest."
Gong Ming agreed and looked outside. The moon was bright and the stars were sparse. He would be busy in the days ahead.
The car drove steadily all the way and sent An Li back to the villa. An Li thanked him politely and watched the car leave. Just as he was about to go in, a voice suddenly came from the darkness.
"An Li!"
She looked back and found that Gu Zhiwei was standing under a tree not far away. It seemed that he had been waiting for a while.
An Li ignored Gu Zhiwei and turned to go in, but Gu Zhiwei quickly stepped forward and stopped her.
"Don't you want to see me? If it were Gong Shaohua, would you invite him in for a chat or let him stay overnight?"
"Gu Zhiwei, what do you mean?"
"Literally! I was wondering why you ignored all my attempts to please you. Turns out it was because of another man."
An Li frowned, "Gu Zhiwei, do you want to listen to what you are saying? Ah Yue said you were fine, but I think you are getting worse."
"I am sick, but it's because of you. You care so much about Gong Shaohua that you risked your life to see him fall into the water, even disregarding your own reputation. When you were giving him artificial respiration, did you ever think that you are still the mother of my five children? You are already an old person, can't you be more content?"
"Have you said enough?"
An Li raised her hand and slapped Gu Zhiwei hard in the face, knocking him unconscious instantly.
"Gu Zhiwei, I'm really disgusted by your behavior. You and I have nothing to do with each other. It's not your turn to judge what I do. Don't forget what you did to me. I said I will never forgive you in this life."
"I'm disgusting? You and Gong Shaohua aren't disgusting?"
"That's your heart, so everything you see is dirty. As expected, An Ning is absolutely right, you haven't changed at all. Get out! I don't want to see you again. If you don't leave, I'll call the police and sue you for harassment. You can't afford to lose this person!"
An Li said this and immediately took out her phone to dial. Gu Zhiwei had a sullen face, but he didn't dare to joke about his reputation, so he had to step aside.
An Li walked into the yard without even looking back, as if she was treating him as a poisonous snake or a ferocious beast.
Gu Zhiwei suddenly remembered her reaction when she saw Gong Shaohua at the dinner party, her face was so dark that ink could drip out.
He clenched his fists, snorted coldly, then got into the car and left.
Afraid that the children would worry, the first thing An Li did when she entered the house was to report to her daughter that she was safe. After a whole night of tossing and turning, An Li was a little tired. After sending the message, she went straight to the bathroom to take a bath, no longer caring about all the mess.
Lu Anning was relieved to know that her mother had returned home safely. She hesitated for a long time, but finally suppressed her curiosity and didn't ask any more questions. She just told her mother to go to bed early.
Just when she and Tang Jingyuan were about to go to bed, Ding Wan suddenly sent a message.
Gu Zhiwei had just returned, and the key point was that there was a clear slap mark on his left cheek.
Who has the ability to slap the head of the Gu family in the face!
