Chapter 1: New Arrival

Chapter 1: New Arrival

On a hot summer day, the scorching, dazzling sunlight penetrates into the room through the dilapidated wooden windows.

Su Tai opened his eyes, feeling a splitting headache. He looked around, taking in the unfamiliar and simple environment. His sight fell on the pair of skinny and dirty little hands, and his brows furrowed slightly.

She traveled through time!

As he realized this, the memories of this body came flooding back like a raging tide.

The original owner had the same name as her, also called Su Tai. She was mentally retarded since childhood. She was the eldest daughter in the family. Before her younger brother was born, her parents did work with her back to her. After her younger brother was born, her younger brother looked after her. Because she was engaged since she was young, in order to prevent her fiancé's family from disliking her, her parents kept her situation a secret and did not allow her to go out. Only people who were familiar with her in the village knew about her situation.

This time, due to a severe drought that had lasted for three years, there was a severe water shortage. The neighboring Ximen Village cut off the water of the Xiaoshizi River, causing such severe trouble that the villages quarreled over water. Her parents and older brother Su Zhan all ran to help and handed her over to her younger brother Su Ming, who was only six years old.

The six-year-old child was very curious and had never seen such a big scene, so he told the original owner a bunch of nonsense and asked him to stay at home and wait for them to come back. Unexpectedly, the original owner could not understand and followed his little brother to join in the fun.

The chaos in the village affected innocent people. The original owner got his head broken in this situation and his dementia spread.

Su Tai sighed, feeling somewhat relieved and somewhat helpless.

Fortunately, the original owner was stupid and had never done anything meaningful, so she was easy to fool. Unfortunately, she had to take over the mess caused by the original owner and survive in this world full of natural disasters.

However, time travel may not be a bad thing for her. She was originally an ordinary female college student who returned to her hometown in the new era. Her hometown was in a poor mountainous area. Her biological mother ran away with someone else because she couldn't stand the hard life after giving birth to her. Her father favored boys over girls, and her stepmother didn't like her either. Her life was difficult.

After much difficulty getting into college, she was tricked by her father and stepmother into getting married right after graduation, on the grounds that college students were valuable to them and the man was willing to give her a dowry of 100,000 yuan. She struggled to resist and escape, but accidentally fell into a ravine more than ten meters high.

The Su family does have a hard time, but the couple are both protective of their children and love their children, which is much better than her original family.

The biggest trouble at the moment is to survive the drought.

Thinking of this, Su Tai slowly closed her eyes and recalled the dream she had just had.

In the blink of an eye, she found herself in an unfamiliar circular space. She was standing in the center of the circle. There was a raised platform with a monitor-like screen in the middle. A few words appeared on it: "Welcome to the Space-Time Gate Transfer Station. With a total of fifty virtual coins, you can open any Space-Time Gate."

On the left there is a machine similar to a vending machine, with some goods and prices on it, and on the right is a cabinet with the words "Automatic Trading Cabinet" on it.

As expected, there is always a way out. She quickly turned around and looked at the circular wall. There were five doors in the whole circle, corresponding to gold, wood, water, fire and earth. The five doors were closed silently.

It's all true!

Su Tai was ecstatic. She closed her eyes and thought about the Su family. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself back on that broken bed.

Just when she wanted to enter the Space-Time Gate Transfer Station again to study it carefully, a woman's anxious voice came from outside. It should be the original owner's mother, Han.

"Xiaotai, Xiaotai, how are you?"

Before Su Tai could react, Han had already rushed into the room and pounced on her, constantly groping and checking her body. Her rough hands finally stopped on her wrapped head, and she burst into tears, "Why do you have such a miserable life? I just didn't pay attention for a while, how did it become like this?"

There was a fight between two villages today. Most of the women in Dongmen Village ran back to their parents' homes to ask for help. Han also went back to Zhongmen Village to recruit people. She hurried back after receiving the news.

Su Chunlin came in later and kept comforting Han.

Han cried for a while, then shouted fiercely at the door: "You little bastard, get out of here!"

After Su Tai was beaten in Ximen Village today, the Han family was worried that Su Ming would be beaten to death by Su Chunlin when he returned, so they took advantage of the chaos to let Su Zhan take Su Ming back to Zhongmen Village and hand him over to the Han family.

Six-year-old Su Ming walked into the house tremblingly along the door frame and stood at the door, not daring to move forward. There were two lines of tear marks on his dirty little face, and it was obvious that he had just cried.

"Sister, I'm sorry. I will never leave you alone at home again!"

The more Han listened, the angrier she became. "Don't you know what's going on with your elder sister? I think you're just itching for trouble! Second brother, bring me my stick!"

As soon as Han finished speaking, Su Tai clearly saw the little figure at the door tremble. She felt inexplicably distressed and subconsciously said, "Mom, don't hit me."

After these words were spoken, Han's body froze and Su Chunlin was dumbfounded.

Su Ming, who was standing at the door, was shocked. He immediately rushed to Su Tai and asked in surprise, "Sister, what did you just say?"

The three of them stared at Su Tai.

Su Ming suddenly stretched out his black chicken claw-like hands and groped Su Tai's body. Then he nodded seriously to Han, "Mother, it's my eldest sister for sure."

Han reacted and slapped Su Ming in anger. She was so excited that her voice was shaking. "How could I not know that this is your elder sister? Girl, can you understand what we are saying?"

Su Tai nodded heavily in the expectant eyes of everyone.

Su Chunlin and his wife hugged each other and cried excitedly.

In the eyes of Su Chunlin and his wife, as long as one can understand what people say and take care of himself, he is a normal person and has nothing to do with a fool.

Su Zhan, who had just finished packing his things, was frightened by this scene. He asked in panic, and when he learned that his elder sister could respond normally, he burst into tears of joy.

It was a blessing in disguise, but unfortunately, before they could be happy for long, a group of uninvited guests came to the Su family.

The leader, the Ding family, was arrogant and brought a group of strong men to rudely push open the gate of the Su family's fence and stand in the yard to demand an explanation.

"Su Chunlin, don't be a coward, get out here if you have the guts! Your family is really capable, you kept your silly daughter a secret, and didn't let any news leak out! If our second son knew that your daughter was a fool, he would definitely not let Akai and your silly daughter get engaged. Now that the news of your daughter's stupidity has spread, our Xiong Kai has become a joke in the entire Ximen Village. If you don't give us an explanation today, we will never let you go!"

Su Chunlin's face changed, he looked at Han, opened the door and hurriedly went out. Before leaving, he carefully instructed Su Ming to take good care of Su Tai and not let Su Tai go out.

Su Ming nodded heavily, his expression serious.

Su Tai saw that they were so anxious that it was impossible for her to rest. Since she couldn't go out, she got out of bed and hid behind the door to eavesdrop.
