Chapter 7 Out of Water
"Cough, cough, cough." Han was so shocked that she choked on her saliva. It took her a while to recover. She widened her eyes in disbelief, "Stinky girl, don't talk nonsense!"
Su Tai was worried about getting beaten, so she took a big step back, "Mom, what I said is true, Shen Yi said it himself, if you don't believe me, go ask."
Han's expression was unpredictable. She looked outside, then at Su Tai who was looking stern. She really wanted to go out and ask what was going on, but she was too embarrassed to ask too much about other people's private affairs. The two of them cleaned up the house, and Shen Yi finished chopping the firewood.
Han hurried to cook and asked Su Tai to come in and help.

Su Tai pulled the rattan basket behind her and said vaguely, "I want to go to the place where the well is dug and help with some work."

The place where the well was dug was not far from Su Tai's home, in the shade of the hillside. Originally there was a mountain spring here with a considerable amount of water. Unfortunately, due to the severe drought, the spring water dried up in the second year. There was another well nearby, which was closer to where the villagers lived.
Su Tai observed carefully for a while and decided to place the spring at the first position.
Firstly, there was a spring here, so it was normal to dig out water. Secondly, the village dug in another place yesterday, and they had just started here, so she could place the spring closer to the ground.
After making up her mind, Su Tai walked out of Chen Yi's sight under the pretext of looking around, and immediately entered the water space-time. "Is there water in the well in your village?" Zeng Kuan said while staring at the villagers who were digging the well.
Su Changxi picked his teeth, sighed, and pretended to be calm, "We just started digging yesterday, how can we get results so soon?"
Zeng Kuan, the head of Zhongmen Village, sighed, "We also started digging yesterday. We thought that digging more places would increase the chance of finding water. But after a day of hard work, the village is full of holes like a rat hole, and there is no water at all! Those idiots from Ximen Village even came to laugh at us. It really makes me angry!"
Zhongmen Village is sandwiched between Dongmen Village and Ximen Village, and cannot escape any disturbance.
"Didn't they go to the Canglan River to get water? I don't know what the situation is!" Su Changxi pondered. He had also thought about it. After digging for three days, if there was still no water, they would have to run to the Canglan River to get water.

Zeng Kuan asked other villagers to come over and help.
With so many people digging together, they had dug half a foot deep in less than an hour. The moisture underneath was getting heavier and heavier. When Shen Yi put down the last shovel, he saw a stream of water suddenly gurgling out.
Zeng Kuan was so shocked that he was stunned and muttered to himself, "I really dug out water!"
Coming back to his senses, he immediately threw himself to the edge of the well and looked at Shen Yi pleadingly, “Shen Yi, can you go to our Zhongmen Village to take a look too?”
Shen Yi raised his head, with a rare faint smile on his face, "Okay."
When Shen Yi came out of the well, everyone rushed to the well mouth and looked inside.
Many people shed tears of excitement and joy.
Shen Yi said to Su Changxi, who was grinning from ear to ear, "Uncle, we have dug out some water, but the amount is not large. We don't know how much water we can get and how long it will last. To be on the safe side, we still have to send someone to guard this well and continue to look for other wells. If we can dig more wells, we can have more protection."
"Yes, yes, you are very thoughtful." Su Changxi nodded repeatedly.
Zeng Kuan was anxious, "There's water in your village, but there's no progress in our village. Let Shen Yi go back with me to take a look first."
