Ye Qingyu's Side Story 16

My body is still Fu Luan's body, but my appearance has changed. I've become more mature, wearing a baseball uniform, a hat, shorts, and boots, and carrying an axe.

The restroom was very crowded, and I could faintly hear the sound of a train running on the tracks outside. I opened the door and rushed out.

I discovered that I was on a train.

The train was rusty and looked very old. There were dried bloodstains around it, and the seats were wobbly. The dusty scrolling screen displayed the name of train S748.

Looking out the glass window, it was pitch black outside.

The overhead lights flickered slightly. I rubbed my eyes, and when I opened them again, I found myself in a carriage full of people.

My eyes widened.

Looking at the axe in my hand again, I found that it was gone and had turned into a book. So, what were those things I saw just now?

Is it a hallucination?

From the Fu family villa to just now and now, I really wonder if I've been traumatized by the Fu family and have developed serious mental problems.

Otherwise, how can all of this be explained?

But soon, those people disappeared again, and the carriage returned to the dilapidated and bloody state I had just seen, and the axe in my hand was back.

This looks so unusual; there's no way such an abandoned train could have gone unnoticed.

Suddenly, I heard a noise from the carriage behind me. I immediately gripped my axe tightly. After the sparse noise, I heard very panicked and helpless footsteps.

It sounds like there are at least four people.

Since they were people, things were much easier. The footsteps grew closer, and soon I could see that they were two couples.

Upon seeing me, the two men's eyes lit up, while the woman was first shocked, then admiring, and finally filled with jealousy and envy. I turned my head away with disgust, avoiding the two men's gaze.

The system appeared beside me.

There's a ghost here!

I shuddered. Even though I had already noticed that something was wrong here, I was still shocked when I learned the truth.

I also learned from that bastard system that this is a place called the Inner World, and the only way to survive is to follow the rules.

This train will take us to that place, and I must find him there; it's my only chance to regain my freedom.

I'm really devastated, is he sick?!

I'm just a mortal now!

But obviously, my shouts and cries were useless; he only cared about himself.

I'm so stupid! I should have realized his intentions a long time ago, but I was so stupid that I didn't say it out loud and instead tried to test him. But who knows if testing him might have gone wrong?

I felt like a wilted eggplant.

The train stopped quickly, and I didn't speak to the four people during that time because the system told me we wouldn't be assigned to the same place.

My destination is a village.

As soon as I got down to the ground, I saw a wooden board hanging on the old locust tree at the entrance of the village, with two words written on it.

Zhu Village.

Zhu Village?

I always felt this name was weird, it just sounded really uncomfortable, and then there was the way the people in the village looked at me.

As soon as I entered the village, I saw many people, both men and women. Although they looked different, the way they looked at me was the same.

I'm dissatisfied, very dissatisfied.

Strangely enough, I noticed this village when I arrived. The whole village is deep in the mountains, surrounded by farmland, and everyone is a farmer. Then I saw knives and other things hanging on the walls.

I can tell that the men are all hunters.

Logically speaking, these people should look like ordinary farmers, and they should have many traces of years and labor on their bodies, but they have fair and tender skin.

Moreover, those faces were all about the same size as mine.

In such remote mountains, it's normal for one or two people to be good-looking, but it's quite unusual for more than a dozen to be.

An unattractive woman came out, grabbed my hand, and dragged me down a side path. I could feel the thick calluses on her hands, but I didn't struggle. I just wanted to see what she was up to.

The woman dragged me further and further away, and the gazes behind me grew increasingly intense, like knives. I couldn't help but look back and saw those people staring straight at me with greed in their eyes.

There was also a menacing look in his eyes.

My heart skipped a beat. Damn it, they say troublemakers come from deep in the mountains, and I'm really scared.

I forced myself not to look into those people's eyes, nor to think about it, and tried to focus my gaze on the woman who was dragging me along.

The woman's clothes were old and quite different from mine. She had long hair, which was tied up in a bun with a blue cloth on top of her head. She wore cloth shoes, and when she walked, her wide trouser legs revealed her delicate, sallow ankles.

Her skin was different from the others; it was a bit dark and had some sunspots.

Finally, she dragged me into a house, which was similar to a mud-brick house from the 1990s, making me frown slightly.

Inside sat a man smoking a pipe. He was probably in his forties, but his hair was already gray. When he saw me come back, he threw down his pipe and grabbed my shoulder.

"Sister Yue, why did you come back like this? Didn't your mother and I tell you not to come back like this? Aren't you good at putting on makeup? How come..."

The man's face showed pain as he spoke.

I didn't understand, but the woman who had dragged me in had already closed the door, sat on a bench, and was crying with her face covered.

"Dad, what do we do now? I don't know what's wrong with this brat. She dared to come back like this all by herself. Waaaaah, what are we going to do?!"
