Ye Qingyu's Side Story Twelve

Fortunately, he didn't have that kind of thought.

"Um."

He looked at me and gave a low "hmm," making the atmosphere in the restaurant even more somber.

It gave me a suffocating feeling.

"Luanluan, eat more of this to supplement your protein and vitamins."

Fu Mingshen put a piece of pork rib and a piece of vegetable on my plate. I smiled sweetly, thinking of Xia Wanqing's usual behavior in my memory: "Okay, thank you, brother."

Fu Mingshen's smile deepened, and he raised his hand to touch my hair: "Luanluan is such a good girl."

His hands were icy cold, like ice blocks even though it was summer, and you could feel the chill even through his thick hair.

I suppressed the urge to shiver and picked up a piece for him, but halfway through, Fu Yanchen grabbed my chopsticks. My pupils constricted, and I turned to see him standing up, leaning towards me with an imposing presence, meeting his dark eyes that revealed no emotion.

Before I could speak, his voice rang out from above.

"Remember who you are."

...

What do you mean? Do you think I'm not worthy to serve food to Fu Mingshen?

I lowered my head and pursed my lips, a hint of mockery flashing in my eyes. When I looked up again, my face was as obedient as ever: "Okay, Dad."

"Okay, let's continue eating." He let go of my chopsticks and sat down again. As I put my chopsticks back down, I inadvertently caught a glimpse of extreme coldness in Fu Mingshen's eyes, a slight furrow in his brows, and a provocative look at Fu Yanchen.

I was certain that it was a provocation, and I was somewhat taken aback.

Why would he provoke his father?

It's simply unbelievable.

The food in front of me suddenly tasted bland, but I didn't leave the table without permission because Fu Yanchen didn't like it. From the moment I said I was full, his furrowed brows and the suppressed displeasure in his eyes told me that he didn't like me leaving the table early.

The meal was tasteless, and the table fell silent again. The surroundings were so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Ten minutes later, it was finally over. I returned to my bedroom, lay on the huge, soft bed that I could sink into, and finally relaxed.

Looking at this princess room decorated entirely in pink and blue, I've slowly come to like it, and I'm even starting to feel like I really am a girl.

Do you like it here?

A familiar voice rang in my ears, and I turned around abruptly—it was the system.

"If you're only talking about this room, then I do like it."

I did not avoid him.

His lips curved into a sinister smile, which gave me a strange urge to dismember him.

Suddenly, a loud knocking sounded at the door.

Bang bang bang bang bang!

The person knocking was in a hurry. I frowned, wondering who could be so rude.

To be honest, I really hate it when people knock on my door like that.

I felt a surge of anger welling up inside me, and with a stern face, I opened the door. But the person outside immediately calmed my anger.

It was Fu Yanchen and his son.

They stood together at my room door. Fu Mingshen had his usual gentle smile on his face, while Fu Yanchen was as aloof as ever.

Their gazes swept over my head and down into the room, as if they were searching for something.

My heart skipped a beat and jumped into my throat. Could they possibly see the system?

I was incredibly nervous, but I still managed a smile as usual, playing the innocent and carefree role of a ten-year-old girl, my face full of surprise: "Daddy! Brother! Are you here to take me out to play?"

"May I come inside?"

Upon hearing my voice, Fu Mingshen quickly looked away and focused his gaze on me. He reached out to take my hand, but Fu Yanchen was one step ahead and picked me up.

A rare smile appeared on his lips: "How about Dad talks to you about something?"

This was the first time he had asked for my opinion in this way, but the certainty in his words made me realize that he wasn't asking for my choice, but rather informing me.

"Dad, what's wrong?"

I leaned on his shoulder, but my eyes were fixed on Fu Mingshen, who was standing next to him with his lips pursed.

Fu Mingshen's smile cooled slightly, but when he saw me, he reached out his hand again, and his smile deepened.

I looked at him, not wanting to reach out. His gaze gradually turned cold, and before Fu Yanchen could answer me, he preemptively asked, "Does Luanluan like her father more or her brother more?"

I stared at him blankly, but my heart skipped a beat. His gaze made me realize that this was no ordinary question.

I don't want to answer.

He decided to change the subject and grabbed Fu Yanchen by the collar: "Dad, you still haven't told me."

Fu Yanchen seemed to be in a good mood. He took my hand and strode into the room, put me on the bed, and sat down next to me, saying, "Luanluan, you just need to promise Daddy. Luanluan is a good girl, right?"

The smile was still on his face, but his eyes were incredibly probing and cold.

I almost suspect that if I said I wasn't, he would strangle me on the spot.

I nodded: "Mm."

Fu Yanchen pursed his lips, his eyes softening. That look made me feel a little uncomfortable. I glanced to the side and saw Fu Mingshen leaning against the door frame, arms crossed, staring straight at me: "Luanluan, come here, your brother has something to give you."

Upon hearing this, I quickly got out of bed and ran over, looking at him with anticipation and joy: "Great! Luan Luan loves gifts the most!"

Fu Mingshen smiled and this time grabbed my hand without any resistance.

This time, his hands weren't cold.

As I followed him away, I could feel the gaze on my back, which continued until I followed Fu Mingshen into his room at the end of the corridor.
