Chapter 20 The Alluring Curves of Jinjiang Literature City

Chapter 20 The Alluring Curve

Wen Zhi was sitting on a bench waiting for Xiao Tang when she suddenly heard an unfamiliar male voice.

"Hello, may I get to know you?"

He paused slightly, turned his head, and saw a handsome face smiling at him.

There were plenty of empty benches nearby, but this person insisted on sitting next to him, coupled with that clichéd opening line.

Wen Zhi had already roughly guessed this person's purpose.

He nodded slightly and simply replied, "Hello."

The man seemed oblivious to his coldness, his gaze lingering subtly on his face as he asked, "Are you a student here?"

"No, I'm waiting for someone." Wen Zhi looked away, showing no interest in this kind of aimless chat.

"No wonder I've never seen you in the water." The man smiled and struck up a conversation, "I come here to swim often. If you don't know how, I can teach you."

Wen Zhi's lips curled slightly as she kept her eyes fixed on the small figure struggling to climb up the slide not far away, her little bottom sticking out in the air.

After class, he originally planned to take Xiaotang home, but Xiaotang saw her new friend in the shallow water area and insisted on going to play for a while longer.

He could only sit back on the bench and wait for Xiaotang to finish playing before going back, never expecting to encounter such trouble.

Wen Zhi's gaze followed Xiao Tang on the slide. Just as she was thinking about how to get rid of the person next to her, her eyes suddenly lit up and she had an idea.

He lowered his long eyelashes, sighed softly, and gave the man a forced smile, as if regretting it: "Forget it, I have to take care of the children, I don't have time to learn these things."

The man's face suddenly stiffened, and he subconsciously looked in the direction Wen Zhi had been looking. Sure enough, he saw a child on the slide who looked very similar to Wen Zhi.

Just like when he spotted the strikingly beautiful Wen Zhi in the bustling swimming pool, that exquisitely pretty child stood out in the crowd.

He never expected that the young and handsome man in front of him already had such a big child. He stood there, petrified, unable to react.

Wen Zhi's lips curled up slightly.

He knew this method would definitely work.

Who would want to get to know a single dad with a child?

The man stood there stunned for a long time, looking back and forth between Wen Zhi and the child, then suddenly clenched his fist, as if he had made up his mind: "I..."

"Excuse me, could you move aside?" A deep, cold voice came from above, interrupting him.

The man impatiently looked up and saw a tall, imposing man standing in front of him. His cold, expressionless face exuded a sense of oppression.

He recognized the person. Although the person didn't often appear in the standard pool, every time he went into the water, he would attract a large crowd. His swimming style was no different from that of a professional swimmer, and he was very popular.

I never expected that these two people knew each other.

Thinking about how he had just boasted that he would teach Wen Zhi to swim, he was so embarrassed that he wanted to crawl into a hole. He immediately stood up and walked away without looking back.

Wen Zhi watched him leave with a happy expression before looking up at the person who was still standing there and asking, "Jue Lan, is something wrong?"

Song Juelan casually wore a black T-shirt, his hair was still a little damp, and the fabric clung to his body, outlining his strong muscle lines.

He had taken Zhu Zhenghao's words to heart and knew that Wen Zhi would be more at ease if she had someone by her side.

But that person definitely wouldn't work.

How can someone who casually strikes up conversations at the swimming pool be considered a responsible person?

Song Juelan didn't want Wen Zhi to know that she had only come to get rid of that person, so after a moment of silence, she changed the subject: "Haven't you gone back yet?"

Wen Zhi raised her chin towards the shallow water area: "Xiao Tang said she wants to play a little longer."

Song Juelan sat down at the other end of the bench, keeping a little distance from Wen Zhi, before turning his gaze to the shallow water area and seeing Xiao Tang sliding down the slide into the water.

Normally, after class, Wen Zhi would immediately take Xiao Tang home without lingering for even a second longer, so it was rare to see Wen Zhi stay here for a while longer.

For reasons unknown, Song Juelan suggested in a low voice, "Spending more time in the water will help him learn to swim."

Wen Zhi nodded thoughtfully: "I see."

Do you want to learn to swim?

The sudden question startled Wen Zhi for a moment, but she quickly realized that Song Juelan must have overheard her conversation with that person.

His "regretful" expression must have been seen by Song Juelan.

Wen Zhi could only nod reluctantly, "Well, if there's a chance..."

“I’ll teach you,” Song Juelan replied without hesitation.

If she could, Wen Zhi would never want to go into the water again in her life.

He took Song Juelan's words as mere politeness and smiled, "Okay."

The two sat on the bench and chatted idly for a few minutes before Wen Zhi realized something was wrong.

Isn't Song Juelan at work right now?

Even if they don't have to attend classes, they should still be on patrol or on duty, right?

Wen Zhi asked curiously, "When do you get off work?"

A hint of unease flashed across Song Juelan's face.

During this period, he usually came to the swimming pool at noon, swam a few laps by himself, and then went to give Xiaotang a lesson when Wen Zhi brought her over.

As soon as Wen Zhi and Xiao Tang left after class, he went back.

Zhu Zhenghao even complained that he seemed to come to the swimming pool only for Wen Zhi and Xiao Tang.

Song Juelan pursed her lips and gave a time that sounded reasonable: "Six o'clock."

No sooner had he finished speaking than a series of "pattering" footsteps approached.

Xiao Tang ran over, soaking wet, grabbed her little water bottle and gulped down a few mouthfuls, then snuggled up to Wen Zhi's legs: "Zhi Zhi, let's go home!"

Wen Zhi responded, took out a bath towel to wrap Xiao Tang up, said goodbye to Song Juelan beside her, and left with Xiao Tang.

When I got to the entrance of the swimming pool, I found that the sky outside was gloomy, the wind was howling, and the rain looked like it would fall at any moment.

Wen Zhi hesitated for a moment, wondering whether to run home or wait at the swimming pool until the weather cleared up.

After finishing her class and playing for so long, Xiao Tang was so sleepy that she couldn't stand up. She hugged his legs with her two little arms and her little head bobbed down.

He could only bend down and pick up Xiaotang, then quickly walk out of the swimming pool, hoping to get home before the downpour started.

However, my luck wasn't good today. Just as I reached the first traffic light, a clap of thunder sounded, and a torrential downpour began.

The torrential rain came down hard, and pedestrians on the road, whether they had umbrellas or not, were quickly soaked to the bone and could only run towards the nearby swimming pool in a sorry state.

Wen Zhi carried Xiao Tang back to the entrance of the swimming pool.

Everyone was pushing inside, but a tall figure walked towards them, opening a black umbrella and walking against the flow of people, preparing to leave.

The umbrella brim was slightly raised, revealing a sharply defined face beneath it.

Their eyes met, and both of them were taken aback.

"Are you off work?" Wen Zhi blurted out the question that had been on her mind.

Song Juelan just said he would get off work at six o'clock, but it's only four o'clock now.

Song Juelan's gaze swept over his soaked clothes. He put away his umbrella, took Xiao Tang from his arms with one hand, and gently put his other arm around his shoulder, leading him into the swimming pool: "Come in first."

There were so many people seeking shelter from the rain at the swimming pool that Wen Zhi had to cling tightly to Song Juelan to avoid being pushed out.

Song Juelan led him through the noisy hall, into a corridor, and after turning a few corners, the familiar staff lounge appeared before them.

Pushing open the door, there was still the same iron-framed bed and desk, just as Wen Zhi had left that day, except that the blankets he had slept in were neatly folded.

Xiao Tang had already fallen fast asleep in Song Juelan's arms. After being placed on the bed, she smacked her lips and continued to sleep.

Wen Zhi first helped Xiao Tang take off his wet clothes, then wrapped him in a dry bath towel before taking the towel from Song Juelan and drying herself off.

His clothes were soaked through, almost dripping wet, and the clothes in his bag were also mostly wet.

Song Juelan walked to the corner, opened an inconspicuous wardrobe, took out his own clothes, and handed them to Wen Zhi: "Wear this."

"Thank you." Wen Zhi took the black cotton T-shirt, looked down at it, and wondered how many identical black short-sleeved shirts Song Juelan actually owned.

His soaked clothes clung to his body, the cold, sticky feeling was very uncomfortable. He turned around with his back to Song Juelan, grabbed the hem of his clothes and pulled it up.

A slender, snow-white waist was suddenly exposed before his eyes, stretching out in an alluring curve with each movement. Song Juelan's pupils contracted slightly, and he immediately turned his head away.

In the quiet lounge, only the rustling sound of clothes rubbing together was clearly audible.

Even without looking, Song Juelan could guess what Wen Zhi was doing.

He should have already taken off his soaking wet shirt and was putting on his T-shirt, his fair fingers smoothing out the wrinkles, then unzipping his pants and taking them off...

The sounds suddenly stopped.

Song Juelan's Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he kept his eyes fixed on the table beside him.

"Juelan," Wen Zhi's soft voice sounded in her ear, tinged with a hint of embarrassment, "Do you have any extra... pants?"

Song Juelan was stunned for a moment before realizing that he had forgotten to bring Wen Zhi the most important piece of fabric.

A surge of heat rushed to his cheeks, and his ears instantly turned red.
