Chapter 166 Save the Girl

"Girl, there is so much rain during this period, even more than the plum rain season!" said Deng Xuedao as he drove a donkey cart in the rain.

Tian An, sitting in the donkey cart, listened to the pattering sound of raindrops hitting the roof and sighed, "Yeah! The first half of the year was not dry, but the second half of the year had a lot of rain."

Deng Xue leaned a little closer to the carriage before saying, "This weather is so crazy. When I left home this morning, it was cloudy and it didn't look like it was going to rain, but it just happened to rain.

Let it rain! If it had rained earlier, we would have stayed at the manor, but it waited until we were halfway there before it started raining..."

Deng Xue was still chattering, and Tian An suddenly opened his eyes, which had been closed for rest: "Shh! Don't talk."

When Deng Xue heard Tian An speak, she immediately shut up.

As soon as she shut up, Tian An heard more clearly and confirmed: "There are the sounds of horse hooves behind us."

Before Deng Xue could say anything, Tian An said, "It's not a carriage."

Looking at the raindrops falling continuously on the ground, she suddenly felt a little panic in her heart. After calming herself down, she felt that she was a little paranoid. It was just a few horses.

He looked at the mountain road that led to nowhere and a shop, frowned and reminded Deng Xue: "Better be careful later."

Deng Xue immediately became alert when she heard Tian An's words. She turned around and took out two hatchets from under the seat in the carriage, handed one to Tian An, and took the other herself.

Tian An didn't ask her when she put the hatchet down. He took it and put it under the cloth bag beside him just in case.

After that, the two of them didn't speak, just listening quietly to the sound of horse hooves mixed with the rain.

Not long after, the horses behind caught up with the donkey cart of the two men.

Suddenly, the sound of horse hooves stimulated the eardrums of the two men. Fortunately, the horses did not stop, but went straight past the donkey cart and went forward.

But before the two of them could relax, they saw the five people on horseback in front of them turn their horses around and come towards them.

Tian An and Deng Xue immediately clenched the hatchets in their hands.

When the five people in front were approaching the donkey cart, they lined up in a row, blocking the way forward.

Now, Tian An had no idea what was going on. They had come here specifically for them. Otherwise, they wouldn't have chosen this kind of place, this kind of weather. It looked like they had been watching them for quite some time!

The situation was not favorable for them. Although Deng Xue knew some fighting skills, she could only deal with ordinary people. But the person in front of her was obviously not an ordinary person. Deng Xue was lucky to be able to deal with him.

The five men on horseback kept approaching the donkey cart, and the donkey cart was forced to stop.

A middle-aged man who seemed to be the leader in the middle said, "Excuse me, is that Miss Tian An in the car?"

Tian An silently gripped the hatchet in his hand and leaned forward, pressing his entire body against Deng Xue's back, his arm around her neck, his head against hers. It looked as if he was hanging on her, leveraging her for support to look forward. In reality, he was restraining her, preventing her from looking back.

"Who is Tian An?" Tian An said with an innocent expression.

The rain was pouring down, blurring the view of both parties. The person on the other side couldn't see Tian An's slightly moving lips, let alone hear the soft whispers she was whispering.

The person opposite seemed not to have heard Tian An's words: "Miss Tian An, someone paid me to come and ask you to come back and have a seat."

Tian An pouted. How could he not be paying for her life? He was just sitting there.

"Who asked you to come? Has he prepared the meal?" Tian An shouted at the man.

While Tian An was dealing with the man, he calmly put the hatchet in his hand to Deng Xue's left hand, so that she had a knife in each hand.

When the man heard Tian An's words, the corner of his mouth twitched: "Since they invited you, I guess they have prepared a meal! Please go, young lady!"

Having said that, without waiting for Tian An to speak, he raised his hand and gestured, and the two people on the edge rode their horses towards the back of the donkey cart.

He followed closely behind, leaving only two people behind to cover their retreat.

Tian An sighed and said, "Since they have prepared the meal, let's give them some face! Xiao Xuexue, turn your donkey's head around."

Seeing that Tian An was sensible, the leader rode his horse to the front without any worries.

Deng Xue also began to turn the donkey cart around. Seeing this, the two people behind him also relaxed their vigilance.

As Deng Xue slowly turned the donkey cart sideways, he blocked the sight of several people and also blocked the only road.

There were mountains and forests on one side of the road and cliffs on the other. At this time, one side of the donkey cart was facing the mountains and forests, and the donkey's head was facing the cliff.

Tian An had moved to the door of the carriage at some point, jumped off the donkey cart with one step, and plunged into the forest.

Deng Xue heard the noise of Tian An jumping out of the car, and while the others were still not reacting, she picked up the hatchet in her left hand and threw it hard at the person approaching her.

The man reacted and dodged the hatchet just as Deng Xue's second hatchet was approaching. He had no way to avoid it and was struck on the arm by Deng Xue. Before he could even scream, Deng Xue grabbed the saddle and used the momentum to kick him off the horse. Finally, he seized the horse and galloped towards the village.

“Bang…Ah…Ah…”

By the time the other four heard the noise and reacted, only the backs of Tian An and Deng Xue were left, and only one of their brothers was left on the ground, hugging his arms and screaming.

"Damn it, this is such a shame, five grown men couldn't even keep an eye on two girls, and they were actually hacked. What are you still standing there for? Chase them." The leader roared angrily before urging a few people to chase after the people.

"Brother, which one are you chasing?" asked a younger brother.

"You are so stupid! Chasing Tian An, get off your horse and chase Tian An."
