Chapter 421 Two to One

The bandit leader was called Kaishan. He was a big, middle-aged man with a face full of flesh. He looked extremely strong, but don't be fooled by his size. When he ran in the mountains, he was as nimble as a wild rabbit.

While running, he could look back at Tian Mingwu who was chasing him closely.

Seeing that there was only one soldier left beside Tian Mingwu, he ran for a while. After making sure that the soldiers behind him could not catch up with him for a while, he was no longer in a hurry to run.

He slowly stopped and looked at Tian Mingwu, teasingly saying, "You are quite courageous, General, you dare to chase after your grandfather, the founder of the mountain, all alone."

Before Tian Mingwu could say anything, Li Ji behind him couldn't help but stand up and pointed at the bandit leader and said, "You bold little thief, you dare to speak nonsense when death is imminent."

A bandit's younger brother sneered and said, "There are four of us and only two of you. Who knows who will die in the end?"

A timid thief standing next to him carefully pulled his sleeve and whispered in his ear, "Second, Second Boss, killing an imperial official will result in beheading."

The bandit known as the second in command didn't appreciate it. He turned around and kicked the little thief, angrily saying, "I've done a lot of robbing and looting, and I've already taken a lot of lives. Killing one more general is nothing."

As he spoke, he sneered at Tian Mingwu and the other man, "Humph! Behead him, but only if he can catch me. I'll kill them both tonight. Once I get out of this mountain, I'll have the freedom to fly freely in the vast sea and sky."

Tian Mingwu looked at the desperate criminals in front of him and subconsciously pulled Li Ji behind him, "Be careful later." and took a defensive stance.

The thieves on the opposite side laughed even more unscrupulously after seeing his actions. The second in command continued to tease: "Wow! I didn't expect the general to be afraid!"

After laughing, the gang leader Kaishan raised his hand and made a gesture, and several people immediately fell silent.

"Don't underestimate the enemy." The boss Kaishan warned, then took out his big knife and made an attacking gesture.

"superior."

At the command, the four bandits pounced on Tian Mingwu and Li Ji like wolves and tigers.

Tian Mingwu took the brunt of the attack, sword drawn, and rushed forward. He single-handedly held off the attacks of the first and second in command, while Li Ji also faced off against the remaining two bandits.

The name of General Tian Mingwu came from the fact that he had fought his way through the battlefield with a sword in hand. He was no stranger to facing this kind of one-on-two situation and handled it with ease.

But Li Ji's situation was not so easy. He was a new recruit who had been in the camp for less than two months. Although he had been trained in the barracks, a new recruit with blood on his hands was no match for the vicious bandits.

He was beaten by two bandits before he could even defend himself for a few moves. If Tian Mingwu had not discovered it in time and hurriedly thrown the scabbard over to block the attack for him, he would probably have been beheaded.

Just to save him, Tian Mingwu was distracted and was caught by the bandit leader Kaishan, and was immediately stabbed in the arm.

But he didn't even blink. When Kaishan approached, he seized the opportunity and slashed at Kaishan's waist with a backhand.

Compared to Kaishan who was screaming in pain, Tian Mingwu didn't even make a sound, as if he was not injured at all.

Seeing that his eldest brother was injured, the second in command picked up a big knife and was about to stab Tian Mingwu. Unfortunately, his inferior weapon was against the orthodox military knife, and Tian Mingwu broke it in two with one force.

Without any weapon to protect himself, he was kicked by Tian Mingwu and fell directly onto a thick tree trunk. He vomited blood when he fell and did not get up for a long time, which shows how heavy the kick was.

Seeing that the second-in-command had been dealt with, Tian Mingwu was about to take over the first-in-command Kaishan, but he glanced and saw Li Ji being pinned down by a bandit and having his neck strangled.

The other gangster was holding a knife, ready to deliver a fatal blow to him.

In a panic, Tian Mingwu swung out his big knife and stabbed the knife-wielding bandit in the back.

The bandit fell down with a bang, attracting the attention of the man who was pinching Li Ji's neck. In that one second, Li Ji got a chance to catch his breath. He quickly grabbed a stone not far from his head and smashed it directly on the bandit's head.

With a "bang", the bandit fell down. Li Ji hurriedly pushed the bandit away and was about to get up to help Tian Mingwu, but he saw Kaishan had already come behind Tian Mingwu with a big knife.

"Be careful, General!" Li Ji exclaimed in fright.

Fortunately, Tian Mingwu turned his body to the side and avoided the fatal part, only injuring one arm.

Tian Mingwu had no weapons in his hands at this time and was much more passive. Facing Kaishan's attack, he could only dodge.

Just as Li Ji was about to step forward to help, he was stopped by the second-in-command of the bandits. He spat a mouthful of blood on the ground, raised his hand to wipe the corner of his mouth, and said with a sinister curl of his lips:

"Little boy, grandpa will not let you leave this forest today."

He had just seen clearly that this kid was most likely a rookie and was no match for him.

The general was already injured. As long as he dealt with this brat, it would be a two-on-one situation again, and he would be able to take him down sooner or later.

Li Ji knew that this man was not on the same level as the two men just now. Although he was afraid, he still held the knife firmly in his hand and did not take a step back.

"Ah..." He raised his sword, shouted to give himself courage, and rushed towards the second in command.

Unfortunately, in a fight like this, strength is the only thing that matters, not courage alone. He was defeated by the second-in-command in just two moves.

The second-in-command looked at the unconscious recruit lying on the ground after being knocked unconscious by him. He picked up the sword on the ground, pointed it at the recruit's neck, and shouted at Tian Mingwu who was confronting Kaishan:

"General, stand still. If you move again, don't blame me for killing him with my sword."

Tian Mingwu frowned and glanced at Li Ji, who was unconscious under the knife of the second in command, and stopped his actions.

Upon seeing this, Kaishan put away his sword, walked up to Tian Mingwu with a smug look on his face and kicked him in the knee, making him kneel on one knee on the ground. Seeing that he still didn't make a sound, he went around behind him and kicked him in the back again, knocking him to the ground.

He even stepped forward and stepped on his head, laughing, "Aren't you awesome? Huh? Get up! Come and hit me! Hahahaha."

Tian Mingwu held the hammer in both hands and wanted to stand up and fight back, but when he saw Li Ji lying on the ground, his life or death unknown, he gave up.

However, Kaishan saw his clenched fist, so he stepped on it and crushed it with his foot until the clenched fist sank into the mud and blood oozed out.

"Aren't you quite strong-willed? I want to see how strong your bones are."

Unfortunately, in the face of these tortures, Tian Mingwu never said a word, but just stared silently in the direction of Li Ji.
