Chapter 536 White Eagle Delivers Message

Looking at the things piled up all over the yard, Tian Mingwu felt both happy and worried.

He was happy that the royal family and Zhao Yiming valued his daughter, but he was worried that with so many betrothal gifts coming, he had to prepare a large dowry for his daughter so that she would not be looked down upon!

Thinking of this, he decided to go find the emperor after court tomorrow.

After a tiring day, Tian An soaked comfortably in the bathtub filled with flower petals.

Thinking back to when I met Zhao Yiming when I first came here, I felt that those things were still vivid in my mind, as if they happened just yesterday.

She didn't expect that she would actually marry him. It was obvious that she brought Xiaokang to live in Zhao Yiming's house just as a temporary measure!

It's really unpredictable.

I lay in bed feeling refreshed, thinking I would fall asleep quickly after a tiring day. However, after lying there for a long time, my eyes were so tired, but I just couldn't fall asleep.

She suddenly missed Zhao Yiming.

Although they were both busy with their own affairs on weekdays, they didn't see each other every day even though they lived in the same mansion.

But just knowing that he is here makes me feel at ease. I don’t know how he is doing now…

Just as I was thinking about it, I heard a noise outside the window. I subconsciously thought that it was Zhao Yiming climbing through the window, but when I listened carefully, it was not right.

Taking out a baseball bat from the space, Tian An quickly got out of bed and walked quietly to the window.

As soon as I opened the window, I heard two chirping birds.

Looking in the direction of the sound, I saw one of the white eagles that Zhao Yiming had sent during the day standing on the ground.

Seeing Tian An open the window, it flapped its wings and flew to the window frame, allowing Tian An to see a thin bamboo tube tied to its feet.

Tian An subconsciously untied the bamboo tube, and sure enough, a thin rolled-up piece of paper fell out of it.

When she opened it, she saw that it was indeed Zhao Yiming's handwriting, written with the pen she had given her.

So, were these two eagles being used as carrier pigeons?

No wonder Jingyu emphasized during the day that they should not be locked up. It turned out that it was for the convenience of sending letters!

He was curious about what Zhao Yiming would write to him, so when he opened it, he found that he asked her to name the eagle.

Tian An raised his hand and gently touched the white eagle's fur-covered head. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Your name will be Zhuifeng!"

He looked up again and saw another one circling in the sky bathed in moonlight. He said, "Let's call it Zhuyue!"

After saying that, she turned around and went back to her room, took out the night pearl that Yaoyao had given her before from the space, placed it in the glass lamp that Zhao Yiming had specially customized for her, and began to reply to Zhao Yiming by the light of the night pearl.

I was too lazy to find paper again, so I took out a pen from the space and wrote the reply on the back of the note.

After writing, roll it up as before, put it into a thin bamboo tube, and tie it back to Zhuifeng's foot.

Zhuifeng took the letter box, spread his wings and flew towards Zhuyue in the sky. Then the two eagles flew together towards the direction of Duke Zhao's mansion and soon disappeared into the night sky.

Strangely enough, after replying to Zhao Yiming's letter, she lay on the bed and fell asleep soon after.

At Duke Zhao's mansion, Zhao Yiming, who was still reading the account book by candlelight, heard the cry of the white eagle. He finally rubbed his sore neck, got up and walked to the window.

When he looked at the mailbox on the white eagle's feet, a smile appeared on his face unconsciously.

Seeing that Tian An actually wrote the reply on the back of the note, he couldn't help but mutter, "This girl is really thrifty."

Jing Yu, who was standing behind him, bravely stretched his neck to take a look, and subconsciously replied, "Madam is indeed a diligent and thrifty mistress of the household."

Jingyu was originally assigned to be a secret guard beside Tian An, but since he knew that Zhao Yiming was going back to the Duke's Mansion, Tian An insisted that he go back to protect Zhao Yiming.

Zhao Yiming had no choice but to agree to let Jingyu come back, but at the same time he was secretly looking for a new secret guard for Tian An.

She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, said nothing, and went straight to the room to find a locked box, put the letter in it and locked it again. Then, after looking around the room, she swiftly climbed onto the beam and put the box away carefully.

Jingyu watched his actions speechlessly the whole time. If you didn't know, you would think he was hiding some treasure! A piece of paper was worth such a lot of effort.

"Um, you won't reply anymore?"

Zhao Yiming glanced at him as if he were an idiot, walked to the desk, closed the account book, and then said, "It's so late, An An should go to bed early."

Jingyu touched her nose awkwardly, then heard Zhao Yiming say, "Return all these photo albums tomorrow!"

"Give it back. You don't need to check the account anymore."

"They're all fake accounts. It's pointless to check them. We'd better figure out how to find the real account books instead of wasting time."

"I'll arrange someone to check it tomorrow." Jingyu said, and began to tidy up the account books on the table.

After he had packed up, he heard Zhao Yiming say, "Go down!"

After Jingyu left, Zhao Yiming walked to the window and looked at Zhuifeng and Zhuyue resting on the tree trunk. After a while, he waved to them, closed the window and went to bed.

I'll be busy tomorrow, and I hope to sort out all the mess in the house before getting married.

However, he fell asleep peacefully, but someone in the mansion couldn't sleep because of his arrival.

In the main courtyard,

Mrs. Zhao, Wang, was anxiously pulling Zhao Ningsong aside and asking, "Do we really have to move out of the main courtyard tomorrow to make room for that bastard?"

Zhao Ningsong was annoyed by her question and waved her away, saying, "Do you think I want to move? It's because you are not good at your job. You don't have the skills, but you insist on taking on such a difficult job.

We sent people out several times but failed to kill that bastard."

Wang was pushed to the ground, tears streaming down her face as she cried in grievance, "Master, you're still blaming me. If you hadn't given the housekeeper power to that bitch from Meixiangyuan, would I have to think of ways to withdraw money?

Since we don't have enough money, we can only hire those third-rate killers."

Seeing that she was still jealous and trying to shift the blame, Zhao Ningsong felt even more annoyed, "If you don't have money, can't you use your dowry first?

You still have the nerve to blame me? Why don't you look at the wonderful daughter you raised? If it weren't for her, how could I still be suspended?"

Ever since he was suspended from office by the emperor last time, even though he tried to find ways to get Yinzi back to his official position, it was of no avail.

Knowing that he was dismissed from his post by the emperor himself, no one dared to help him. He made so many excuses that he couldn't even see anyone.

Without his position and unable to enter the palace, the memorials he submitted to the palace fell on deaf ears.

Everyone in the circle knew about him, and they all avoided him like the plague. He would not be invited to ordinary gatherings in the past. Apart from going to the tavern to drink alone, he could only stay in the house all day.

The long period of repression made him more and more irritable. Whenever he thought that all this was because of that rebellious girl, he regretted not strangling her to death when she was born.
