Chapter 67 We all know each other

The sky is blue and the sun is shining. March 29th is a good day for moving into a new house or getting engaged.

Early in the morning, Mangzhong brought Tian An a new light blue dress, along with a headband of the same color.

Looking at the new clothes, Tian An was a little confused: "I have never bought clothes before! I have never bought fabric before, where did these clothes come from?"

As Mangzhong helped her tidy up, he said, "This is what the young master ordered. He brought the fabric back from Pengji Silk Shop and asked me to make a complete set! It includes the dress, shoes, and even a headband. He said he wanted to give the young lady a surprise."

Tian An thought about what he had said to Danniu before, that girls like gifts and surprises. He didn't expect that he had actually written it down!

Tian An thought this was a gift from Da Niu for her moving into a new home.

Mangzhong helped Tian An put her clothes in order and combed her hair: "That girl is such a surprise!"

Tian An didn't hide his good mood at all: "Of course it's a surprise."

The two chatted casually, and the skillful Mangzhong quickly helped Tian An comb her hair into a beautiful bun and put on a hair flower.

"The girl looks really pretty today," Mangzhong said with a smile.

Tian An also thought it looked good: "Clothes really make the man! I think it looks good too."

Tian An was looking forward to seeing Daniu's reaction, so she went to find Daniu excitedly.

"Brother Daniel!"

Da Niu, who was moving grass to feed the cows in the yard, heard someone calling him. He turned around and saw a light blue figure coming into his sight.

The girl looked at him with a bright smile and curved eyes. It was like a clear spring flowing into his heart, refreshing his soul.

Da Niu, who was in a daze, turned around and nodded awkwardly when he heard Tian An ask him, "Does it look good?"

Just as Tian An was about to speak, a discordant voice came in.

"I'm wondering if you two are flirting with each other so early in the morning! Don't you see it every day?" Peng Zhang walked in with a scroll.

Da Niu frowned and said, "Master Peng, please don't say anything inappropriate."

Hearing the man show off his knowledge, Peng Zhang looked impatient: "Oh! Alright, alright, I'll stop talking now! Come and help me get my things! I brought you so many things."

Peng Zhong walked in holding some cloth and said, "Miss An An, where should we put these cloths?"

Tian An didn't care about anything else, and hurried forward to help Chun Xi to organize all the things into the warehouse.

Peng Zhang stepped forward and handed the scroll to Daniu, saying, "Master Zhao, congratulations on your new home!"

Daniel didn't even open it to read it, he just took it after returning the gift.

Peng Zhang's lips twitched. "Wasn't he even polite to me? He's a scholar with aloofness!"

Peng Zhang brought a lot of gifts for Tian An and the others. There were more than ten bolts of cloth, both cotton and coarse. The cotton was for Tian An and the others, and the coarse was probably for Chun Xi and the others.

He also prepared a set of four treasures for Xiaokang and Danniu, and brought a few books for Xiaokang, all of which he needed, as well as the calligraphy and painting that he had originally given to Danniu.

The gifts were not particularly expensive, but they were all very suitable for Tian An and the others.

Just as we had put away the things that Peng Zhang brought, another carriage arrived outside the courtyard gate.

Qin Yalan, dressed in green and wearing a veil, just got off the carriage and saw Tian An walking out of the door.

"An An, are you here to pick me up?" Qin Yalan said with a smile.

Seeing Qin Yalan, Tian An walked over happily: "Sister Yalan, you are finally here."

Qin Yalan subconsciously pinched Tian An's face: "Why do I feel that your face is smoother and more tender! Are you hiding something good, little girl?"

Before the two of them walked into the gate hand in hand, a carriage came from a distance.

Tian An couldn't remember who else she knew, except Peng Zhang and Qin Yalan, whose family could afford a horse-drawn carriage.

When the carriage stopped, a little girl came out first and then went to help the people inside.

Gu Jinyan, who was wearing a veil, got off the carriage and saw Tian An and a girl who was also wearing a veil standing at the door looking at her. She said:

"An An, what's wrong? It's only been a short time! Don't you recognize me anymore?"

Tian An looked at the familiar little girl next to him and finally remembered who she was.

"Sister Jinyan, why are you here too?" He said and came over to pick her up.

When Tian An approached Gu Jinyan, she asked, "Why? You don't welcome me? I heard from the yamen runners that you were moving today, so I came here to congratulate you."

Tian An pulled Gu Jinyan home with a familiar look: "How could that be! I just didn't expect it!"

When he reached the door, he introduced Qin Yalan: "Sister Yalan, this is Gu Jinyan, Sister Jinyan..."

Before Tian An finished his introduction, the two of them spoke together:

"Gu Jinyan"

"Qin Yalan"

Tian An was stunned: "Do you all know each other?"

Qin Yalan smiled and said, "It's true, people from the same family are alike!"

Gu Jinyan also echoed: "So everyone knows each other!"

Tian An: "...Okay! Then let's go inside and talk."

Because Peng Zhang and Da Niu were talking in the main room, Tian An and the others went directly to her room.

Tian An's room is divided into two rooms, the inner room is for resting and the outer room can be used to receive guests.

After entering the room, Qin Yalan and Gu Jinyan took off their veils.

It was the first time that Tian An saw Gu Jinyan’s true face. He took a breath exaggeratedly and said, “Sister Jinyan is so beautiful! No wonder Sister Jinyan always wears a veil.”

Gu Jinyan felt embarrassed by her gaze: "It's not that exaggerated. I wear a veil because I am afraid of the wind and sun. My skin is not very good, and it will easily turn red after being exposed to the wind and sun."

Speaking of face issues, Gu Jinyan was also very depressed! She had to wear a veil all year round. Winter was okay, but summer was hot and stuffy, and it was uncomfortable to have a sticky face.
