Chapter 138: Seeing the Woman in Black Again

Chapter 138: Seeing the Woman in Black Again

Chen Hanxing smiled and looked at his back. She didn't care about that bite of food before, but it's hard to say now.

When Wen Zhen saw that everyone was there, he realized that the table in the backyard of his house could no longer accommodate everyone, so he simply brought the food to the living room and divided it into two tables.

The weather was too hot and no one had much appetite, so the food Wen Zhenyi made was sweet and sour, and the portions were not very large.

She put down a plate of food and walked to the counter: "Brother Shen, it's time to eat."

Chen Hanxing didn't look up: "Okay, you guys eat first, I'll come after I finish the calculation here."

Wen Zhenyi stretched her head and took a look at the way he kept accounts. Although she still couldn't understand many of the words, she could roughly guess some of them.

These accounts can be said to be a diary, but they are too detailed. It’s not that being detailed is bad, but they are all written together.

I have to write down each item I sell, and there will be some details of purchases mixed in between. This makes it difficult to calculate the accounts and it is easy to make mistakes.

If someone is not careful, it would be difficult to calculate such an account book.

Shen Hanxing put down the brush in his hand and looked up to see her stretching her neck in a daze: "What's wrong?"

Wen Zhenyi came back to his senses and looked at him: "Brother Shen, is this how you all keep accounts?"

Shen Hanxing looked down at his account book and found nothing wrong, then nodded: "Yes! Is there any problem?"

"Will it be easy to make mistakes when calculating the accounts if you keep accounts this way?"

Chen Hanxing thought for a moment and nodded: "If someone interrupts or gets distracted, it's easy to make mistakes and have to start over again."

"It's really inconvenient."

"That's a little bit, but that's how accounts have been kept since ancient times."

Wen Zhenyi has never studied accounting, but he still knows simple debits and credits. It seems he needs to improve on this, otherwise he will be exhausted from checking the account books in the future.

"Let's eat first. The curfew hasn't been lifted yet, so you have to go back early after dinner."

Shen Hanxing nodded and put the account book, writing brush, ink, paper and inkstone into the cabinet.

Wen Yongman was so happy to see all his friends coming that he didn't want to go back to the private school: "Mom, can I stay in the store?"

Ma Yinghe's head was aching from his annoyance, and she could only look to Wen Zhenyi for help.

Wen Zhenyi looked at him with a smile: "Xiao Man, aren't you taking a bath the day after tomorrow?"

Wen Yongman immediately perked up when he heard that: "That's right! Private school will be closed the day after tomorrow."

"Come back the day after tomorrow and I'll give you a task."

Wen Yong's face was filled with excitement: "What mission?"

"Teach Huzi and the others how to read."

Wen Yongman's face immediately fell, and he looked at her with resentment: "Sister, I learned to read every day in the private school, and now I have to teach others when I come back."

"Xiao Man, Hu Zi and the others can't go to a private school to learn to read and write now, but you can. If you learn how to read and write, wouldn't it be better for you to be their little teacher?"

Wen Yongman wanted to refuse, but seeing the expectant eyes of his friends behind him, he couldn't bring himself to say no: "Okay."

Wen Zhenyi smiled and rubbed his head: "Then you must study hard and don't teach them the wrong characters."

Wen Yongman pouted: "I won't."

Wen Yongnan saw Wen Yongman go play with his friends, then he said: "Xiaoman has made great progress in the private school, and the teacher also praised him, but he is a little naughty."

"Brother, you and Xiaoman are both smart. Have you ever thought about taking the imperial examination?"

Wen Yongnan was stunned for a moment, then shook his head: "I don't like the court. If I go to the court, I might as well join the army."

As soon as he finished speaking, Ma Yinghe slapped him on the back of the head: "What nonsense! Do you think joining the army is such a fun thing?"

Wen Yongnan rubbed his head and turned to look at Ma Yinghe, who was looking angry: "Mom, I was just talking casually."

"Don't say that casually."

"I understand. I won't say it again."

Wen Zhenyi waited until Ma Yinghe left before quietly asking Wen Yongnan, "Brother, have you always wanted to join the army?"

"I want to be a general." Wen Yongnan winked at her.

Wen Zhenyi chuckled and said, "Then you must study hard in the private school."

"But I'm just saying this. I don't want my mother to worry."

Wen Zhenyi didn't say anything, but she knew that if that day really came, he would definitely choose to join the army.

Watching Shen Hanxing and the others leave the shop and return to the private school.

The other people in the yard also went to wash up and go to bed, as they had to get up early the next morning.

Several boys slept in the same room, and each of them was too excited to sleep. My mother and several aunts talked to each of them for a long time, but it seemed to be of no use.

Wen Zhenyi could only get up and go to their room. He saw that they were still playing on the bed, none of them were sleepy at all: "Aren't you going to sleep yet?"

"Sister Wen, we just can't sleep."

"Lie down and I'll tell you a story."

When the four children heard this, they all looked at her excitedly: "What's the story?"

"It's something you haven't heard of. Lie down and I'll tell you."

The four little ones all lay obediently on the bed, looking at her with their eyes, waiting for her to tell them a story.

Wen Zhenyi sat down beside their bed: "Close your eyes."

They actually closed their eyes obediently.

Wen Zhenyi took a palm-leaf fan from the table nearby, fanned them intermittently, and then began to tell them the story of Calabash Brothers.

As I was talking, I saw that they had fallen asleep.

Wen Zhenyi covered each of them with a thin blanket and lit some mugwort in the corner to prevent mosquitoes from biting them.

She gently closed the door for them. Ma Yinghe and the others were still awake outside the courtyard, waiting for her to come out.

"Mom, why aren't you sleeping yet?"

"I'm afraid these little guys will make some noise."

"They are all asleep, you should go to bed too."

Aunt You smiled and said, "You still have a way."

"Aunts, go to bed early too. We have a lot of things to do tomorrow."

"You should also go to bed early."

Wen Zhenyi smiled and nodded. She was used to going to bed late.

After taking a shower and sitting under a tree, she found that the gaze from last night appeared again. She didn't even raise her head: "The little sister is here again."

The woman looked at the girl sitting under the tree, and she knew she was here without even looking up.

He lightly jumped down from the tree and stood in front of her: "You know I'm here."

"I know. Haven't you been observing us all day today? What have you gained?" Wen Zhenyi looked at her with a smile.

The woman was shocked. She had seen Wen Zhenyi busy all day. How did she find out? "How did you find out?"

"Young lady's gaze is so intense, it's hard not to notice." Wen Zhenyi said, turning his head to look at her: "Let me guess, the reason why you keep appearing."
