Chapter 100 Fireworks

Even though it hasn't really come to that point yet, Su Tiyue is filled with anticipation, thinking, "It'll be soon..."

That day will come soon.

In the evening, before sunset, they entered the territory of Qingxi Town.

I thought we were going to the town, but the carriage ended up heading downstream along the stream.

The roads are flat, the scenery is beautiful, but there are few people.

To the right is a lush forest, and to the left is a wide and quiet stream.

The carriage came to a patch of lush green meadow and then stopped.

Liu Wan lifted the carriage curtain, peeked out, and couldn't help but exclaim "Wow!"

What a nice view.

Nestled amidst mountains and water, this place boasts picturesque scenery, resembling a paradise on earth.

Liu Wan got off the carriage and reached out to help Su Tiyue. Unexpectedly, Xiao Heye had arrived at the carriage at some point, and his long, strong arm went straight past Liu Wan and into the carriage.

Liu Wan wisely retreated to the back.

Su Tiyue bent over and peeked half her head out of the car. When she saw the person in front of her, a faint smile appeared on her face: "Master Xiao?"

Throughout the journey, Su Tiyue felt uneasy. Every time Xiao Heye sent someone to deliver a message, saying that he would take her to some unknown place.

She was always uneasy and afraid.

Although the two of them get along fairly well now.

However, Xiao Zhangyin's unpredictable moods and capricious nature still made Su Tiyue feel vaguely afraid and panicked.

Now that Su Tiyue has arrived at her destination, she sees a faint smile on Xiao Heye's calm face.

The unease and fear in my heart slowly dissipated.

"Hmm," he hummed softly.

Xiao Heye smiled and took her soft, boneless fingers in his hand, helping her down from the carriage.

He held my right hand and never let go.

Xiao Heye turned his head and looked at the innocent woman beside him with a doting expression.

Her skin was like solidified cream, her lips were red and her teeth were white, her eyebrows were lightly drawn, and her black hair was half-tied up, loosely tied with a pinkish-white silk ribbon.

She wore a moon-white silk dress, with thin, white shawls draped over her arms, the hem of which trailed on the ground...

If this place is a paradise on earth, then his little Yue'er... is a little fairy who accidentally fell into the mortal world.

Clear as a spring, warm as sunshine.

Su Tiyue raised her left hand, placed her palm on her forehead, and squinted at the setting sun that was faintly glowing red behind the distant mountains, a sweet smile on her face.

"I've never seen a sunset while I'm in the palace," she couldn't help but sigh.

Xiao Heye twitched the corner of his mouth, said nothing, and simply led her forward.

What does Su Tiyue see at this moment?

There is the glow of the setting sun, beautiful mountain and water scenery, and a winding stream beside the flat and wide road.

After crossing the small wooden bridge spanning the stream, you step onto a lush green meadow.

This is an endless expanse of wild grassland.

Not far away, several brown horses were grazing with their heads down.

“Tents…” Su Tiyue pointed to several gray tents erected along the stream, grinned, and turned to ask him, “Is this also thanks to Zhang Yin?”

Xiao Heye squeezed her fingers and lowered his head in tacit approval: "To ensure that Your Majesty has a different New Year's Eve, this servant has not slept a wink all night."

"Tsk tsk tsk..." Su Tiyue tiptoed and raised her palm, gently patting the top of his head. When she smiled, her eyes curved into small crescent moons: "Not bad, not bad. Master Xiao has put in a lot of effort. I am very pleased."

It seems like it's been a long time since she's heard Xiao Heye refer to himself as a servant in front of her.

This was a little secret that Su Tiyue only discovered some time ago.

Before Su Tiyue and Xiao Heye became acquainted, he referred to himself as a servant.

At that time, when the late emperor was on the throne, there were only two people who could make Xiao Heye call himself a servant.

One is the late emperor, and the other is Su Tiyue.

In front of other people of high status, Xiao Heye always referred to himself as "our family." This was true whether it was the current Empress Dowager or Zhou Tingyue.

Later, after the late emperor caused trouble at Tingyu Tower while drunk, Xiao Heye changed his tune and never referred to himself as a servant in front of the late emperor again.

After that, the only person in the world for Xiao Heye to willingly call himself a servant was Su Tiyue.

These seemingly insignificant changes allowed Su Tiyue to discover clues through their interactions.

In truth, she understood everything.

But she pretended not to know anything.

Because Su Tiyue doesn't yet know how to accept love from a demon or evil spirit.

Xiao Heye's love is obsessive and forceful, dangerous yet tender.

She is passionate and decisive, able to both love and hate, and capable of letting go easily.

But if she were to actually join hands with Xiao Heye to advance and retreat together, the inevitable outcome would be that they would fall into a quagmire and plunge into an endless abyss.

Su Tiyue was afraid that she couldn't bear such an ending.

I'm even more afraid that my family won't be able to accept that outcome.

...

"Tonight, I'll keep you company as we celebrate the New Year... Moon."

A deep, magnetic voice drifted into her ears, filled with tenderness and affection.

Su Tiyue nodded: "Tonight, I will also keep you company to welcome the New Year... Xiao Heye."

She smiled, revealing shallow dimples on her face.

As dusk settled, wisps of smoke rose slowly from the wide meadow. The eunuchs had cooked congee and roasted some chicken and fish.

It smells delicious and looks golden; it makes your mouth water just looking at it.

Xiao Heye naturally didn't eat meat; these were all specially prepared for Su Tiyue, that little glutton.

Drinking alcohol was forbidden in the palace, but Xiao Heye still prepared some of her favorite mulberry wine.

As darkness fell and all was quiet, Su Tiyue and Xiao Heye sat cross-legged on the soft, green grass, admiring the moon and stars, and breathing in the pure, clean air.
