After the snow, the sky cleared and all was quiet. After a series of rain and snow, Yong'an City was blessed with a rare warm sun.
The dim, dazzling winter sunlight shone through the thick clouds, leaving only a faint, pale glow on this cold, desolate land.
The end of the month has just passed.
An uninvited guest suddenly arrived at the usually peaceful and serene Jinxiu Palace, which startled all the servants serving there.
The person who came was Li Xun. He wasn't there to deliver a message; he was there to invite someone.
Upon seeing Su Tiyue in the main hall, Li Xun bowed respectfully and said, "Your Highness, the Chief Supervisor has asked me to take you somewhere."
Su Tiyue frowned and asked in surprise, "Where?"
Li Xun replied: "By the Wangyue Lake, at the Jingxin Pavilion."
Su Tiyue didn't speak, but turned her head to look at Liu Wan and Qing Wu beside her. Her eyes were filled with complicated emotions. She felt that Xiao Heye's behavior was a bit strange, but she didn't know exactly what was strange about it.
If Xiao Heye wanted to find her, he could have simply asked Li Xun to take him to Yelan Pavilion. What on earth was he up to? Su Tiyue couldn't understand at all.
Qingwu glanced at Su Tiyue, then at Li Xun opposite her. Seeing her mistress's troubled expression, she realized she was unwilling to keep the appointment. So she said to Li Xun, "Eunuch Li, the weather is cold. Wangyue Lake has long been frozen over. Our Lady is only just recovering. Does your Grand Eunuch disregard her delicate health and insist on taking her to such a cold place?"
Li Xun smiled faintly and said to Qingwu, "The Chief Supervisor has his reasons for doing this. We servants are just following orders... Don't you agree, Miss Qingwu?"
Qingwu glared at him: "You..."
Su Tiyue also realized that Li Xun's words were not only directed at Qingwu, but also at her.
Xiao Heye wanted Su Tiyue to obey him completely. If he wanted Su Tiyue to go east, she couldn't go west. This kind of control was like Xiao Heye personally tailoring every step she should take in the future, and Su Tiyue could only obey.
Su Tiyue remained silent for a moment before asking slowly, "Does Eunuch Li know why your supervisor summoned me to Jingxin Pavilion?"
Li Xun replied, "Your Majesty will know when you go there."
"Such a secretive thing, she's definitely up to no good," Qingwu muttered under her breath, standing to the side. Liuwan, afraid she might say something outrageous, quickly nudged Qingwu with her elbow to stop her from talking nonsense.
Su Tiyue stood up and said, "In that case, I will go and change my clothes."
Li Xun replied with a "Yes," bowed, and left the room, obediently standing guard at the door.
Before long, Su Tiyue came out, still wearing the same clothes, but now with a plum-red cloak.
Liu Wan was a little uneasy and asked her again, "Your Majesty, are you really not going to let us accompany you?"
"No need, don't worry, I'll be back soon."
Su Tiyue and Li Xun walked out of the gate of Jinxiu Palace, and after taking a few steps, they turned around and found Liu Wan and Qing Wu still standing foolishly at the gate, unwilling to go back. The scene looked like a life-or-death farewell.
Su Tiyue turned around and waved to them, signaling them to go back.
Wangyue Lake is located in the North Garden and is connected to the Imperial Garden, both of which are extremely beautiful places in the imperial city. Jingxin Pavilion is built in the middle of the lake and is a great place to enjoy the view and admire the moon.
Li Xun led her through the Imperial Garden and onto the stone bridge built over the lake. As far as the eye could see, everything was a vast expanse of white. The lake connected to the Imperial Garden, forming a single color. Although it was not as colorful and vibrant as it used to be, it was still breathtakingly pure.
Enjoying the snow on the lake has a unique charm.
Xiao Heye was in Jingxin Pavilion when he saw Su Tiyue walking gracefully toward him from afar.
He leaned back, his long legs casually bent, and sat lazily by the stone table. His right hand rested on the table, and his slender, cool fingers gently touched his lips, stroking them back and forth. His deep eyes seemed to be staring at the petite figure.
Su Tiyue was dressed the same as usual today, without making any special effort to dress up.
Beneath the crimson cloak, she wore a pale pink long dress, the hem embroidered with tiny white jasmine petals. A moon-white brocade belt cinched her slender waist. In her hair, she wore only a simple golden hairpin with a jade butterfly pendant, which tinkled melodiously with each step.
"Now there is a beautiful woman, with bright eyes and white teeth, lightly made up, her steps graceful and graceful, her golden hairpins jingling..." These were the words that came to Xiao Heye's mind as he looked at the woman before him.
I wonder what he would think when he saw Su Tiyue?
As soon as Su Tiyue stepped into the pavilion, Xiao Heye began staring at her intently. Feeling a chill run down her spine under his gaze, she asked in a low voice, "I wonder what business Master Xiao has summoned me here?"
Su Tiyue glanced at the little eunuch behind Xiao Heye. There were other people in the pavilion besides Xiao Heye and Li Xun, so Su Tiyue spoke cautiously.
Xiao Heye snapped out of his daze, a faint smile appearing on his cold face. He stood up, spread his palms, and pointed to the chessboard on the stone table: "This servant dares to ask Your Highness to play a game of chess with me."
Su Tiyue looked up at him, a helpless expression on her red lips: "I'm afraid I'll disappoint Master Xiao. I don't know how to play chess."
"Tsk." Xiao Heye was rejected, but he didn't mind. He continued, "Then how about I accompany Your Highness to enjoy some tea and admire the snow scenery?"
"You...you summoned me here just for this?"
Xiao Heye smiled slyly and said, "Yes...no. But it won't take up much of Your Highness's time, probably less than half an incense stick's time."
