Chapter 171 Imperial Edict

The next morning.

When Su Tiyue woke up, Xiao Heye had already left.

They leave early and return late every day, and even though they live under the same roof, they hardly ever exchange a few words.

Today she wore a lake-green gauze dress, and her smooth black hair was loosely pinned up with the gold begonia bead hairpin that Xiao Heye had given her.

A few strands of hair hung loosely at her temples, but her small, delicate face was undeniably beautiful and refined.

A short while later, Li Xun knocked on the door and came in.

He brought over some light sweet porridge and a plate of spring rolls: "Your Majesty, these were specially ordered by the master to be made by the kitchen... Please eat them while they are hot."

Su Tiyue craned her neck to take a look, then replied with a smile, "It looks delicious."

"Where is Master Xiao?" Su Tiyue asked Li Xun after taking a sip of porridge.

"Your Majesty, His Majesty has gone to the morning court."

"What time is it now?" she asked again.

Li Xun said, "9:00 AM."

"Normally, Master Xiao should be back by this time. Why hasn't he returned yet?"

"Perhaps something came up that delayed him."

"Oh." She lowered her eyes, focused on drinking the porridge in her bowl, and didn't say anything more.

Li Xun turned and walked to the right side of the room. He went to the marble table, squatted down, and took something out of the wooden cabinet next to it.

He lowered his head and walked to Su Tiyue's side again, respectfully presenting what he was holding: "Your Majesty, this is what the mistress asked me to give you."

Su Tiyue turned her head and glanced at it briefly, but was immediately drawn to the bright yellow color in front of her.

She quickly put down her spoon and bowl and asked softly, "Is this... an imperial edict from the Emperor?"

Li Xun smiled and nodded.

Su Tiyue quickly took it with both hands, her fingers trembling slightly, but she still carefully unfolded it and read it from beginning to end.

She felt it wasn't enough after reading it once, so she read it aloud again, word by word.

When she read the last word, Su Tiyue's nose tingled and she almost burst into tears.

She must have been waiting for this day for a long time.

"Did Master Xiao say anything else?" Su Tiyue put away the imperial edict in her hand and looked at Li Xundao.

I was so excited that I couldn't calm down for a long time.

Li Xun shook his head.

Su Tiyue instructed, "I understand, you may leave now."

"Yes." Li Xun had just reached the door when she called him back: "I'd like to trouble Eunuch Li to make a trip to Tingyu Tower and have Liu Wan come over. I have something to tell you."

"Yes, Your Majesty." After replying, Li Xun walked straight towards Tingyu Tower.

Su Tiyue carefully put away the imperial edict and then continued to drink the rest of her sweet porridge.

A moment later, Liu Wan followed Li Xun in.

"Your Majesty, you wanted to see me?"

Su Tiyue nodded twice and said to her with a smile, "Today you and Qingwu should pack our things first, we'll be able to leave the palace soon."

She thought for a moment, then added, "It should be in the next couple of days."

"Really!? Your Majesty, we can really go home...?" Liu Wan was so excited that she almost cried. She grabbed Su Tiyue's arm and looked incredulous.

"Really, I'm not lying to you... We'll be able to go home soon." Su Tiyue gently patted Liu Wan's hand and whispered, "Go quickly, pack well, and don't forget anything important."

Liu Wan nodded repeatedly and said, "Okay."

Before she left, Su Tiyue made a special instruction: "You can leave other things behind, but remember to take everything that Xiao Zhangyin gave you."

"Um."

Upon hearing Su Tiyue's last words, Li Xun lowered his head and curled the corners of his mouth into a smile, as if he were secretly laughing.

Li Xun was adept at reading people's expressions. From Su Tiyue's words to Liu Wan, it was not difficult to see that the relationship between his master and Su Tiyue was gradually improving.

Before the morning court session, Xiao Heye specifically instructed Li Xun to prepare breakfast for Su Tiyue.

What about now?

Su Tiyue also specifically instructed Liu Wan that the gifts sent by Xiao Zhangyin must not be forgotten.

Over time, even though Li Xun was just an observer, he was still touched by the sweetness of it all.

Seeing that Su Tiyue had finished her breakfast, Li Xun walked up to her and volunteered, "Your Highness, Miss Liu Wan helped you tidy up the things in Tingyu Tower, so let me tidy up the things in this room for you?"

"I don't have many things, just a few clothes and jewelry."

Su Tiyue turned around and scanned the room. It seemed there really wasn't much to tidy up.

Then, her gaze settled on the wooden staircase in the center of the room.

Hmm—Is there anything of hers upstairs?

Su Tiyue frowned and thought for a moment. Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she said to Li Xun excitedly, "I remember now, I still have some things upstairs. Could you please help me get them, Eunuch Li?"

Li Xun nodded: "Yes. What is Your Majesty referring to...?"

“That blank memorial tablet... it’s mine…” she said lightly.

Li Xun looked puzzled, but still turned and went upstairs.

...

That is the memorial tablet of the late Crown Prince.

The Empress Dowager's dying wish was that someone would remember the late Crown Prince, remember his name, and... remember what he did for Northern Liang.

Su Tiyue silently repeated his name.

Zhou Yuheng...

Now that Su Tiyue is leaving the palace to return home, although Zhou Yuheng is a member of the royal family, his memorial tablet should be enshrined in the palace.

However, it seems that no one in the palace remembers him, and no one cares about this blank memorial tablet.
