Chapter 36 Ingratiating Xiao Zhangyin

When Liu Wan went to Yelan Pavilion to find Xiao Heye, she accompanied him.

In his room on the first floor, he was half-reclining on a bench by the window, flipping through a book in his hand.

A small brazier was placed in front of him for warmth, and sparks would occasionally jump out of the brazier.

"The seal." Su Tiyue lifted her skirt, stepped over the threshold, called out softly, and then walked towards him.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Heye slowly turned his head to look at her, his eyes deep and thoughtful.

She wore a pale white, wide-sleeved long dress, wrapped in a thick white fox fur coat. Her long black hair was tied up in a high bun, quite different from her style at the banquet that day. Today, she looked more dignified and well-behaved.

"They're here."

Xiao Heye replied indifferently, then stopped looking at her and instead lowered his head to look at the book in his hand, his face indifferent.

Su Tiyue walked over and sat down on the bench with him. "Master, the weather is great today, and it's warmer outside. I heard that a lot of flowers were transported back from the south to the flower room at the corner tower of Nanyang Gate."

As she spoke, she reached out and tugged at the corner of his sleeve, then twirled it around her fingertip.

Xiao Heye didn't even glance at her, simply replying with a nonchalant "Oh."

Su Tiyue said, "Would you like to come with me to see the flowers?"

After asking the question, she secretly glanced at Xiao Heye. His face was cold and expressionless, as calm as a still lake, without a ripple.

Xiao Heye didn't say anything, but turned a page of the book with a gloomy face, and then continued to look down at the book.

Su Tiyue knew he was angry, and felt a little annoyed. If she had known this would happen, she should have obediently listened when Li Xun came to Tingyu Tower to ask for help.

Knowing that Xiao Heye had a bad temper, she still...

Of course, that's all hindsight. The main reason was that Xiao Heye really scared her that day.

This was the first time she had ever encountered something like this.

Anyway, nothing you say will make a difference at a time like this.

Su Tiyue sat obediently to the side, not daring to provoke him in the slightest. Since he didn't answer, Su Tiyue could only stay obediently to the side and wait.

Perhaps he'll start paying attention to her after he finishes reading that book.

Just then, she saw the person next to her suddenly close the book in their hand, sit up straight, and slowly turn their head to look back at her.

"Palmprint".

She called out tentatively, her soft eyes meeting his gaze.

Her little eyes looked pitiful, and her voice was soft; she was clearly terrified of him.

Xiao Heye put down his book, stood up and took two steps toward the screen, but unexpectedly the little thing behind him hurriedly followed him and ran two steps, hugging his waist from behind.

She pressed her face against Xiao Heye's back and softly asked him, "I want to go see the flowers. Will you come with me, Zhangyin?"

He lowered his head, his cold gaze fixed on the wrists wrapped around her waist. After a moment, he couldn't resist... He raised his hand and gently grasped Su Tiyue's slender wrist, squeezed it, and replied, "Okay."

"Really? The Master agreed to go with me?" Su Tiyue was overjoyed, and her voice even became a few decibels louder.

You could tell she was very happy.

Xiao Heye said, "Yes, Your Highness, please go ahead. I will change my clothes and come right away."

Su Tiyue released his hands, then walked around to face him, smiled and said, "Okay, then I'll wait for you in the flower room."

Xiao Heye nodded.

After Su Tiyue left, he did not continue behind the screen or change his clothes. Instead, he turned around and walked behind the long table. After sitting in the armchair, his eyes darkened.

"Come out."

Xiao Heye's voice rang out abruptly in the quiet room. He twirled the white jade thumb ring on his thumb, his face showing anger.

Immediately afterwards, the hidden door behind the bookshelf made a sound, and a figure walked out from behind the bookshelf.

It is a cold boat.

"elder brother."

He called out, "How did you know I was here?"

Xiao Heye didn't say anything, he just glanced at him silently.

Han Zhou walked into the room and deliberately walked around, sniffing the air. He could only smell the faint scent of jasmine lingering in the air.

He took a deep breath, then covered his nose with his hand in disgust, and asked sarcastically, "Is it her? Little Jasmine...?"

In fact, Han Zhou had been standing at the hidden door for a long time, ever since Su Tiyue entered.

He didn't say anything, but quietly observed everything that was happening inside the room.

He remained silent, but a turbulent undercurrent simmered in his eyes.

"When did you arrive?" Xiao Heye ignored him and asked casually.

If Xiao Heye remembered correctly, he had already reminded Han Zhou when he suddenly appeared last time that he should send a message before entering the palace next time.

Unexpectedly, Han Zhou suddenly appeared again today.

And it's through this door.

Han Zhou didn't answer Xiao Heye's question. Instead, he smiled wickedly and asked, "Looks like I've come at the wrong time. Are you going to accompany Xiao Moli to admire the flowers?"

Xiao Heye paused for a moment and then asked, "What are you doing here?"

The conversation between the two seemed to have taken on a slightly eerie atmosphere.

They each said their own thing and ignored each other.

Han Zhou found the conversation pointless, so he shrugged and said nonchalantly, "I originally wanted to play chess with you, brother. But if you're busy, go ahead and do your thing... You can't just ruin my brother's good time, can you?"

Han Zhou's words were always harsh and sarcastic, but Xiao Heye never got angry. Perhaps it was out of habit, or perhaps... he treated Han Zhou differently from others.

"Let's not go see the flowers, let's play chess instead." Xiao Heye got up, took a chessboard from the wooden cabinet behind him, and placed it on the long table.

“It seems I’m much more important than Little Jasmine.” Han Zhou pulled out a chair and sat down opposite him.

A smile was evident on her face, but her alluring phoenix eyes seemed to conceal a different emotion.
