"Haven't I given you everything I could? What more do you want from me?" Su Tiyue pushed him away and looked up at him, asking:
"Master Xiao just said I gave the title to the Emperor, but is that title something I can decide? Do you think I can just decide whether or not I become Consort Shu... Do you think everyone in this world is like Master Xiao, able to command the wind and rain and do whatever they want..."
She said, "I know you harbor resentment about my past with His Highness the Crown Prince. But Master Xiao, can't you be a little reasonable? You are cold-blooded, ruthless, and heartless. Don't others have the right to love and be loved? Can't the past be left behind completely...?"
Furthermore, since it was Xiao Heye who pushed her step by step to where she is today, why does he still ask Su Tiyue what she wants to do?
This is simply unreasonable.
Su Tiyue seemed genuinely angry; her voice trembled as she spoke, and her chest rose and fell slightly.
Only his eyes shone brightly like stars.
His eyes flickered slightly, revealing a quiet tenderness and determination.
Xiao Heye lowered his eyes, his cool fingertips slowly lifting her chin, and asked patiently and deeply, "Your Majesty, can those things really be over?"
He swallowed hard, staring at her intently.
"Yes. In fact, more than anyone else, I want those things to be over. Master, haven't we always been fine? You might have misunderstood me. I'm not being honest with you to tell you how unforgettable or wonderful that relationship was. I just want to tell you that although I am a woman, I can let go. At least before entering the palace, he and I were upright and honorable. I haven't done anything wrong, so why should I hide it..."
After a pause, Su Tiyue frowned and continued, "Do you think I would believe you if I hid things from you and lied to you that none of those things happened?"
Xiao Heye said, "But in this servant's opinion, everything Your Highness thinks and does is for him... You don't want to serve him in bed because you want to remain chaste for him and are afraid of hurting him... Isn't that right?"
"Yes! But not entirely. I was also doing it for myself." Su Tiyue took a step towards him, staring intently into his eyes, and said coldly:
“Since entering the palace, I have had no way out; I can only move forward. And what lies before me is a path that is worse and more unbearable than the last. Am I wrong to simply choose the path I want to take from the worst to the worst?”
Xiao Heye asked her, "So, Your Highness chose this servant?"
"That's true. Minister Xiao is the first choice, and the Emperor is my second choice." Su Tiyue chuckled softly and said:
"Now, isn't this exactly what you wanted? You just wanted to destroy me, didn't you? Master Xiao... I don't need you to do anything. Even if there's an abyss ahead, I'll jump in myself."
"Oh," he replied with a single word.
After a while, Xiao Heye squinted his eyes and said indifferently, "Then this servant wishes Your Majesty good luck."
Hearing him say that, Su Tiyue's eyes welled up with tears. "I've said all the nice things and the unpleasant things... are you still going to push me out?"
Xiao Heye seems different from before. Ever since Han Zhou appeared, ever since her second brother had an accident, and ever since the night Xiao Heye returned to the palace, he has become a different person.
Su Tiyue couldn't figure out what he was thinking. No matter what she said or did, Xiao Heye seemed determined to push her into the abyss.
...
"Tsk."
Xiao Heye curled his lips, raised his hand to tuck Su Tiyue's stray hairs behind her ear, and said coldly, "This servant only wanted to ask what Your Highness was planning to do... not to stop Your Highness. Besides, you were originally the Emperor's woman, and it's a good thing that you've become my pawn in the future."
“However…” he began softly, then bent down and moved closer to her, his palm clasping her waist.
"If Your Highness doesn't mind, after you gain favor, please remember to visit Yelan Pavilion often and help this servant warm the bed..."
"How could you say such a thing... Xiao Heye, you're a beast!" Su Tiyue reached out to push him away with a look of disgust, trying to escape his hold.
But Xiao Heye didn't let go; instead, he hugged her even tighter, a wicked smile on his face. "Compared to the Emperor, this servant is both gentle and refined... Hasn't Your Majesty always known that?"
Xiao Heye lowered his head, staring intently at her.
Under the hazy moonlight, Su Tiyue's fair face seemed to be coated with a thin layer of frost, as if it would shatter at the slightest touch...
His throat tightened, and he couldn't resist leaning closer.
Su Tiyue stared wide-eyed as he drew closer and closer, until his face stopped just inches away from hers, and then she stopped.
After a moment, Xiao Heye came to his senses and realized that he had lost his composure.
He released her without saying a word.
Su Tiyue hesitated for a moment before saying, "Master Xiao, have you finished speaking? May I leave now?"
"Hmm." He snorted coldly from his throat, then stood still, quietly watching her departing figure.
Xiao Heye has always been a person with strong self-control. He is mature, reserved, patient, and never shows his emotions. However, as soon as he gets close to Su Tiyue, he seems to lose that ability.
Seeing how proactive she was with the emperor, Xiao Heye was so jealous that he went crazy, even lost his mind, which is why he chased after her without any regard for the consequences.
He wanted to ask Su Tiyue what she was trying to do; he wanted to know what she was really thinking...
But later, as his thoughts returned, his mind gradually cleared.
