Xiao Heye clenched his fist and looked at Han Zhou, so angry that he almost ground his back teeth to powder.
He strode toward Su Tiyue, loosening his dark blue cloak as he went.
He walked heavily through the dry bushes and stood in front of Su Tiyue.
Without the slightest hesitation, he swiftly draped the cloak over Su Tiyue's head.
Su Tiyue's view was completely blocked by him, and she couldn't see anything.
She can no longer see those horrific scenes.
The tree trunk was white and raw, the blood was dark red, and the flames were raging...
All that remained before Su Tiyue's eyes was darkness.
Without saying a word, Xiao Heye bent down to take her cold fingers.
He pulled her toward the carriage.
But Su Tiyue had only taken one step when her legs gave way and she collapsed straight down.
She knelt on the ground, her hands helplessly clinging to Xiao Heye's arm, tears streaming down her face...
Xiao Heye bent down, picked up Su Tiyue along with the cloak covering her, and walked straight towards the carriage.
Once inside the carriage, Xiao Heye carefully placed Su Tiyue on the soft cushions in the carriage.
He lowered his voice and coldly said to the coachman, "Return to the palace."
Inside the carriage was a low table with a dim, yellow oil lamp lit on it.
Su Tiyue sat on the cushion, her cloak still covering her head.
Xiao Heye sat on the thick carpet with his long legs stretched out and a gloomy expression.
Su Tiyue sniffed softly, her eyes red and swollen from crying.
Her thin shoulders trembled as she cried, but no sound came out.
He was clearly quite frightened.
Xiao Heye had killed someone in front of her, but last time, her eyes were covered.
What about this time?
Xiao Heye's thin lips were pressed into a line, and his eyes were bloodshot. He was so heartbroken that he felt like he was going crazy.
He never imagined that Su Tiyue would see him in such a wretched state.
Xiao Heye had repeatedly warned Han Zhou not to touch her or hurt her.
But what was the result?
Han Zhou, still with Su Tiyue, witnessed firsthand another terrifying and chilling side of himself.
Ultimately, the one who hurt and deceived Su Tiyue was himself.
Xiao Heye really terrified her this time.
The carriage traveled along a rough and uneven road, bumping along the way.
Xiao Heye sighed and finally leaned gently against Su Tiyue's legs, following the soft cushions of the carriage.
The oil lamp inside the carriage flickered, and he lowered his head and slipped into the dark blue cloak.
He knelt on one knee, looking up at Su Tiyue with regret and heartache in his eyes.
If I had known she was coming, I wouldn't have killed those people today.
Xiao Heye gently placed his palm on the tear-streaked face, lowered his voice, and carefully said, "I'm sorry."
Su Tiyue looked at him sadly, blinked, and two hot tears fell on his face.
She sobbed softly.
After a long silence, she finally said softly, "Why did you lie to me..."
He paused for a moment.
Su Tiyue leaned down and wrapped her arms around the back of his neck, burying her face in the crook of Xiao Heye's neck. With a sob in her voice, she asked again in a coquettish tone, "Why did you lie to me?"
"Waaaaah..."
The faint, intermittent sobs gradually rose, almost shattering Xiao He's ambition.
His Adam's apple bobbed up and down as Xiao Heye repeated in a low, hoarse voice, "I'm sorry, Yue'er, I was wrong."
