Chapter 115 Equestrian Club

Mr. Kang informed Wen Xi that he would come to pick her up at 2:30 p.m.

At 2:30, Wen Xi went downstairs and the car prepared by Mr. Kang was already downstairs.

This time it’s a different car, a white Mercedes-Benz G-Class, which looks very cool. This doesn’t seem like Mr. Kang’s style. Could it be the style of Mr. Kang’s wife?

This time the driver was a girl with a high ponytail and a capable temperament. During the conversation, Wen Xi learned that she was a veteran, and he felt admiration for her.

"Miss Wen, let's go pick up Sister Wan first."

Wen Xi was puzzled: "Sister Wan?"

"Oh, it's Mr. Kang's wife." The driver smiled shyly: "Sorry, I'm used to calling you that."

"When you see her later, you can call her Sister Wan. She will definitely be very happy."

Wen Xi nodded: "Okay, I understand."

Mr. Kang’s wife is named Lang Wan. Wen Xi intuitively feels that this Ms. Lang should be different from other wealthy ladies.

The car drove towards the suburbs and stopped in front of an equestrian club called Sayi.

The driver turned to Wen Xi and said, "Miss Wen, we're here."

"Sister Wan won't be out for a while. Why don't you go in and wait for her?"

Wen Xi was very curious about the equestrian club and nodded happily: "Okay!"

The Sayi Equestrian Club is located on the green land of Guangmao on the outskirts of the city. The architectural style is very simple, and the exterior walls shine with a metallic texture under the sunlight.

Entering the building lobby, you will see photos of the riders and the honors they have received.

Wen Xi saw a photo of a woman at first glance.

She had lively eyes and eyebrows, and was wearing a Chinese-style riding suit and a pair of black boots as she sat astride a horse. Even though she had a youthful smile on her face, her temperament was like that of the owner of the entire grassland.

"Please come this way, Sister Wan is at the racecourse." The receptionist guided Wen Xi to the racecourse.

Walking through the corridor and arriving at the racecourse, the view suddenly opens up.

The sound of horse hooves came closer and closer. Wen Xi looked closely and saw that the woman in the photo was riding a galloping black horse. Her body was very stable, as if she was walking on the wind, and she whizzed past Wen Xi.

From the woman's features and eyebrows, it can be seen that she is much older than in the photo, but the energy in her body has not disappeared. Instead, she is even more attractive than when she was young.

When she saw Wen Xi, the woman smiled casually and then whistled at Wen Xi.

Wen Xi:?

This Ms. Lang is quite interesting.

After riding the horse around the racecourse for a circle, Lang Wan slowed down. The black horse gradually changed from running to trotting, and then slowed down.

The staff led the black horse to the stable. Lang Wan took the towel handed to her by the assistant, wiped the sweat off her face, and then gave Wen Xi a kind smile: "Hello!"

For some reason, Wen Xi didn't feel the slightest bit of strangeness when facing Lang Wan. Instead, she treated her like a friend she had known for a long time. "Hello, Sister Wan."

Lang Wan looked at Wen Xi carefully with her bright eyes. She said to her assistant, "This girl is really pretty."

The assistant nodded in agreement. The reputation of the handsome man in the entertainment industry was indeed well-deserved.

As they walked, Lang Wan took Wen Xi to visit his equestrian club.

Lang Wan was very talkative. She introduced herself to Wen Xi: "I grew up in the north and have lived in both the plains and the mountains. My ancestors are a family of hunters."

"I used to be an equestrian coach and won a few awards."

Lang Wan's words were very humble, but there was a hint of pride on his face.

Wen Xi's tone was full of genuine admiration: "How can you say it's just a little? The moment I entered the room, the golden light of the trophy almost blinded me."

Lang Wan's eyes curved with a smile: "You are so versatile and smart. No wonder Lao Kang appreciates you so much."

As they walked, Wen Xi noticed that there was also a huge pot with a dagger stuck in the middle at the equestrian club.

Isn't this Mr. Kang's "One Poke at Jiangshan"? How come it's here too?

"I think this bonsai is too ugly, but Lao Kang insisted on putting it here."

Seeing Wen Xi's gaze fixed on Yiteng Jiangshan, Lang Wan smiled and said, "Are you curious about why Lao Kang is so superstitious?"

Wen Xi nodded vigorously: "That's not just ordinary superstition."

"Actually, a big reason why Lao Kang is superstitious is because of me."

Lang Wan sighed.

As soon as Wen Xi heard about the story, he immediately pricked up his ears.

Lang Wan looked at Wen Xi's expression as if she was listening to gossip and thought that this girl was very cute.

As she walked, she said, "When Lao Kang was a teenager, he came to our place to buy matsutake mushrooms."

"It was a long time ago. Back then, there were tolls collected on the mountain."

"Old Kang is very stubborn. The money he had on him was the payment for goods. He was smart and hid it in a very secret place. He refused to hand it over no matter what."

"The group of people were so angry that they couldn't get the money that they beat him half to death."

When Lang Wan said this, his tone was still filled with heartache.

"After the people left, he wanted to use the Hetian jade bracelets he had hidden to find someone to hitchhike with."

"As soon as he took out the bracelet, a wild deer appeared out of nowhere, snatched it up and ran away. He chased it desperately."

"We couldn't catch up with the deer. He ran out of energy and collapsed at the entrance of our camp."

"It was very late at that time. I sneaked out to steal fruit from my second uncle's house. When I came back over the wall, he fell down behind me. I was scared to death."

Lang Wan smiled and said, "You should have guessed what happened next."

"Ever since we rescued him, he has come to our stall every year to collect matsutake mushrooms. Sometimes it's not even a matsutake mushroom stall."

"I don't like studying. Whenever he comes, it happens to be a holiday, so I ask him to help me with the homework assigned by the teacher."

"Then it was like this. When it was time to get the marriage certificate, we got it, and it's been like this ever since."

"He thought the wild deer was the incarnation of a god, and it came to guide him."

When Wen Xi heard the story of Lang Wan and Mr. Kang, he was amazed. It turned out that they were childhood sweethearts who knew each other in their youth.

As they chatted, they walked to the stable, and Lang Wan took Wen Xi to learn about the breeds of horses.

The stables are mostly stocked with Arabian and Thoroughbred horses.

After listening to Lang Wan’s introduction to the selection and breeding of these horses, Wen Xi felt that what flowed through these horses’ bodies was not blood but money.

Wen Xi looked at the majestic black horse in front of him. Its fur was smooth and beautiful, its muscles were strong, and its head was held high.

Wen Xi thought of Lang Wan riding a horse, so free and unrestrained, and felt a longing in his heart.

"Do you want to learn how to ride a horse?"

"I can teach you."

Lang Wan looked at Wen Xi's bright eyes and touched the black horse's neck.

Lang Wan said she would teach him personally, and Wen Xi was very surprised: "Really?"

"Of course, it's rare to meet someone as appealing to me as you are." Lang Wan checked his watch. "Contact me when you're free. I'll see if our time is right."

"It's getting late today, I'll take you to the styling studio."

Wen Xi followed Lang Wan into the car and headed to the styling studio. He wondered if he'd run into anyone he knew at this fashion party.
