Chapter 274 Please Trust Me, Princess

Chapter 274 Please Trust Me, Princess

As Lin Changning was racking his brains trying to figure out how to abduct the person in public, a maid suddenly ran into the banquet hall to invite Lin Changning over.

"Young Master Lin, the Princess says that one of her outfits needs some alterations. Please come with me now."

Lin Changning hesitated for a moment. He was still thinking about how to get close to the princess without making a sound and bring the princess and the young lady out of the princess's residence.

Hearing what the maid said, Lin Changning hesitated for a moment before agreeing.

Sitting here is pointless; I might as well follow the maid to the backyard for a stroll. If I could run into the princess, that would be even better.

Their carriages were already prepared outside the princess's residence, and they were determined to get the person out before the banquet ended at the latest.

After following the maid through several turns into the inner courtyard, the maid suddenly disappeared. Lin Changning frowned, still puzzled, thinking that she had given herself away and been discovered.

Suddenly, I saw a woman in a light blue dress and a little girl in an orange dress looking around, seemingly lost.

Lin Changning looked around and realized that this area seemed to be in the back garden, with artificial hills and dense woods forming a very secluded place.

Lin Changning rushed over, cupped his hands and bowed to the princess: "Lin Changning, Commander of the Right Guard of the Prince of Chu, greets the princess!"

A hint of suspicion flashed in Li Mingshu's eyes as she calmly asked, "Do you have any seals or evidence?"

Lin Changning nodded, took out a token from his pocket, and presented it to Li Mingshu with both hands facing upwards.

"Please take a look, Princess."

Li Mingshu took the token, rubbed it up and down twice, and then put it back in Lin Changning's hand.

"Did Father send you to fetch me?"

Lin Changning nodded: "Today's matters have been arranged. Please, Princess, step aside and follow me out of the Princess's residence."

Li Mingshu hesitated for a moment: "I have a lot of spies around me. My aunt has dealt with the maids who followed me. Once I leave the mansion, the guards who follow me will definitely find out."

Lin Changning shook his head: "Princess, don't worry. When we go out, if they find us, my guards will deal with them on the spot. The city defenses have already been notified today, so we must leave the capital before dark."

Li Mingshu was also decisive. Upon hearing Lin Changning's words, she immediately made a decision: "But how do we get out now?"

When she arrived, Lin Changning had naturally prepared a plan for how to evacuate from the princess's residence.

He cupped his hands in greeting to the princess and then pulled Yue'er into his arms, saying, "Princess, come with me."

As he spoke, he led the princess to a small courtyard on the west side of the princess's residence. The courtyard seemed to have been abandoned for a long time, and there were several sets of maids' clothes inside.

Lin Changning handed the maid's clothes directly to the princess: "Put these on first. Your current clothes are too conspicuous if you go out. Changing them to the maid's clothes will make it less noticeable."

Li Mingshu took the child, changed her clothes, and even removed all her makeup and hairpins.

However, a beautiful face makes it hard for people to think that this person is an ordinary person.

Lin Changning clicked his tongue twice; it seemed he had no choice but to bite the bullet and head out.

Clothes can be changed, but the temperament and appearance of someone in junior high school are hard to hide.

Lin Changning sighed, scratched his head, and seemed unsure of what to do.

Now that they can't even leave the princess's residence, isn't the rest of the way to go even more useless?

Outside the princess's residence, they prepared four identical carriages, each with different women and children, all to deceive the watchers outside.

The four carriages would each travel in a different direction, so even if pursuers came, Lin Changning felt it wouldn't be a big problem.

But now it's really a bit of a dilemma.

If you go out like this, you're bound to be recognized. You know, why is this person in yellow so good-looking? Even if she's wearing maid's makeup, her appearance is still quite different from that of an ordinary person.

Just as Lin Changning was worrying, a cat's meow suddenly came from somewhere. Lin Changning alertly chased after it and saw a tabby cat crawl across the dilapidated yard and disappear into the bushes of a narrow alley in a flash.

Lin Changning instinctively chased after it, and when he parted the bushes, he found a dog hole big enough for a person to crawl through.

Lin Changning: ? ? ?

Could it be such a coincidence? He was just worrying about how to leave the princess's residence openly when a cat came to lead the way and brought him to the dog hole.

What a coincidence?

Lin Changning subconsciously looked up and saw a maid who had been perched on the roof beam in broad daylight suddenly disappear into the darkness.

Seeing that Lin Changning hadn't seen anything, he turned back and silently breathed a sigh of relief. This person was very alert.

To be honest, this person was stupid. Without the princess's secret help, it would have been a pipe dream to take the princess away from the princess's residence.

You found such a dilapidated courtyard, why didn't you think to explore the outside?

She practically showed this guy the newly dug dog hole!

Lin Changning returned to the small house with joy: "Princess, there is a dog hole over there. It may be inconvenient for you and the young lady, but we can leave the mansion from here."

Li Mingshu nodded and was about to pick up Yue'er and walk forward when Lin Changning suddenly pulled Yue'er into his arms and dragged Li Mingshu toward the cave entrance.

Although Yue'er didn't understand what they were going to do, her mother had told her last night that her uncle and maternal grandfather would send someone to rescue them.

So she nestled obediently in Lin Changning's arms, her glassy eyes silently gazing at Lin Changning's chin.

They're unbelievably well-behaved.

Feeling the gaze of the little one in his arms, Lin Changning lowered his head, smiled at Yue'er, and said gently, "We'll be back in Taiyuan soon, Miss, hang in there a little longer."

Li Mingshu also comforted her daughter: "Yue'er, be good, don't cry or make a fuss on the way. We'll be home soon."

Yue'er buried her face in Lin Changning's arms and gently hummed in agreement. After hugging Lin Changning, she felt extremely at ease.

Lin Changning first helped the princess crawl out, then handed Yue'er over to her. After bending down and crawling out herself, she looked at the somewhat desolate area behind the princess's residence.

"The carriage is not far away, Princess, let's hurry."

With that, Lin Changning picked up Yue'er and strode towards where his carriage was parked.

After slowly turning through several alleys, they arrived at a more crowded area. The princess seemed to have a thin layer of sweat on her forehead due to not exercising for a long time, and she was slightly panting as she clutched her chest.

Lin Changning frowned, picked up Yue'er with one arm, covered her with a hood, and knelt down, saying, "Princess, I'll carry you across."

Li Mingshu hesitated for a moment, then jumped onto Lin Changning's back. Rather than wasting time being coy, she figured she might as well cooperate and get back to Taiyuan sooner.

As Lin Changning carried the princess and quickly approached his carriage, a young girl sitting in the carriage next to him giggled.

"Miss Yan'er, look here, there's a very interesting person. He has a maid on his back and is holding a snow-white dog in front of him."
