Chapter 275 Escape

Chapter 275 Escape

The young lady, who looked about twelve or thirteen years old, couldn't help but curiously peek out of the carriage when she heard the maid mention a snow-white dog. When she saw Lin Changning carrying someone and running forward at high speed, it felt as if she had been struck by a heavy blow.

I covered my head and felt a headache coming on, as if I had touched something familiar.

Lin Changning's profile kept appearing in his mind, and fragmented memories slowly surfaced.

Su Hanyan's face turned pale instantly; she could sense that the person in front of her must be very important to her.

The maidservant suddenly asked anxiously, "Miss, Miss, how are you? Is your headache back?"

Su Hanyan didn't speak. The little maid was momentarily at a loss, and hurriedly prepared to get out of the carriage: "Miss, wait a moment, I'll go find our young master right away!!!"

Just as the maid was about to get out of the carriage, Su Hanyan grabbed her arm: "No! Don't go! Have someone follow those two people, quick!!"

Despite her headache, Su Hanyan instructed the maid, "Go quickly!"

The maid hesitated for a moment: "Then shall we not wait for the young master?"

Su Hanyan shook her head: "Let's not wait for Brother Qingyan, let's catch up with them quickly!"

The maidservant made two "oh" sounds and hurriedly told the coachman to chase after Lin Changning.

A voice inside Su Hanyan was screaming frantically: Don't let them escape, chase after them, hurry!

The immense panic almost overwhelmed Su Hanyan, and only after the vehicle caught up directly did her panic subside a little.

Lin Changning had already carried the princess to the carriage. When the driver, Mr. Gao Huan, saw the princess, he bowed.

"Princess, time is of the essence, please get in the carriage quickly!"

Li Mingshu glanced at Mr. Gao Huan, nodded quickly, and climbed into the vehicle. Lin Changning, carrying Yue'er, also got into the vehicle. Just as they were about to call Mr. Gao Huan to get in, Li Mingshu...

Mr. Gao Huan bowed deeply to Lin Changning: "I entrust the group leader and young lady to Commander Qian. Travel expenses, provisions, and Commander Qian's sword are all in the hidden compartment in the carriage. Have a safe journey!"

After saying that, Mr. Gao turned and walked towards the other carriage. Lin Changning was stunned for a moment: "Uncle Gao, aren't you coming with us?"

Mr. Gao Huan boarded another carriage and waved to Lin Changning: "There are still some things to take care of in the capital. I'll stay behind to clean up the mess. Take care on your journey."

Lin Changning nodded upon hearing what Mr. Gao Huan said, and then spurred his horse to leave the city.

It takes about half an hour to get from here to the city gate. The city gate is now open to traffic, and they will be safe once they are outside the city gate.

Without a second thought, Lin Changning spurred her horse toward the city gate. As they approached the gate, she suddenly realized that a carriage was following them closely.

Lin Changning turned his head to look back and saw a three-horse carriage following them not far away, about 10 meters away.

Lin Changning frowned, feeling a bad premonition. He slowly stopped the car, and saw that the car behind him also slowly stopped.

Then a young maid, about ten years old, got out of the car and walked straight toward their vehicle.

The maid looked at Lin Changning and said in a somewhat unfriendly tone, "My young lady has something she wants to ask you. Could you come to my carriage?"

Lin Changning glanced at the maidservant: "Get out!! If you dare follow me again, I'll kill you!!!"

The maid was startled by Lin Changning's imposing manner and ran back to her carriage with a pale face.

Hearing Lin Changning's impolite words, Su Hanyan frowned and got out of the car. As soon as she got out, Lin Changning saw that face and his heart skipped a beat.

Why is it Fu Bao?

She's even become a daughter of an official?!

Meeting the female lead was never a good thing, so Lin Changning subconsciously drove the carriage out of the city first.

Seeing Lin Changning drive away, Fu Bao's panic intensified. He climbed back onto the car and pointed ahead, saying, "Follow them! We must stop them!"

The maid was a little confused, but she was still traumatized by Lin Changning's words of "get lost," so she couldn't help but advise, "Miss, that person doesn't seem like a good person. Why do you have to chase after them? Maybe you shouldn't."

Fu Bao shook her head: "I don't know, but I have a gut feeling I have to stop them!!!"

The maidservant followed Fu Bao into the carriage. Knowing that her young mistress's intuition was almost never wrong, she gritted her teeth and directed the driver to hurry up and catch up.

Lin Changning frowned as he looked back, and quickened his pace. He only slowed down when he got closer to the city gate.

After taking out the waist token that Mr. Gao Huan had prepared for him, Lin Changning quickly passed through the city gate. As soon as he was out of the city gate, Lin Changning prepared to drive the carriage forward quickly.

Unexpectedly, a sweet voice came from behind: "I am the young lady of the Marquis of Zhongyong's family!! Stop them!! There's a thief in that carriage; he stole my money and is trying to escape!!!"

Hearing a soft cry behind him, Lin Changning cursed inwardly, "Damn it!!!"

He then drove the carriage quickly forward. When the soldiers guarding the city gate heard Fu Bao shout this and saw Lin Changning suddenly speed up the carriage, they immediately realized something was wrong and prepared to surround him on horseback.

Fu Bao's fear amplified to an extreme, her voice almost hoarse from screaming. She frantically chased after the groom, while a group of city guards followed behind, riding quickly towards Lin Changning and his group.

Lin Changning gritted her teeth: "Princess, take out the weapon from the hidden compartment!!! Now!!"

Inside the carriage, Li Mingshu quickly opened a hidden compartment and handed out a sword and a bow and arrow.

Lin Changning placed his sword beside him, then bent his bow and nocked an arrow, shooting it at the nearest soldier.

With a whoosh, the nearest person tumbled off his horse.

The pursuers paused for a moment, then shouted, "Don't let the thief get away! Follow me! Second team, go back and get reinforcements!! Don't let the thief escape!!!"

Lin Changning fired several arrows in succession, taking out the men who had caught up with him.

Thinking of Fu Bao made her grit her teeth in hatred. They were already outside the city gates, and she still managed to ruin her plans. What kind of lucky heroine is she? She's a jinx!

Lin Changning's eyes were bloodshot. There were only the princess and two others in the carriage. The other carriages had not yet set off. If they were surrounded, she would surely die.

Just thinking about Fu Bao's outburst at the city gate made Lin Changning furious. He turned around and saw that Fu Bao had actually sent someone to drive a carriage after them.

Lin Changning sneered, truly fearless of death.

Lin Changning turned sideways, drew his bow and aimed straight at Fu Bao's carriage. A gust of wind blew up, lifting Fu Bao's curtain.

Fu Bao looked up and came face to face with Lin Changning. Lin Changning didn't even blink and quickly released the arrow.

"Whoosh~"

A whooshing sound rang out, and Fu Bao watched as a sharp arrow swiftly pierced through the carriage curtain, heading straight for her.

"Miss!!!!"
