Chapter 282 Healing

Chapter 282 Healing

As Li Mingshu watched her daughter being pulled towards the cliff, she instinctively reached forward and grabbed her daughter in mid-air. Then, she felt a sense of weightlessness and held her daughter tightly as they both fell downwards.

With a splash, Li Mingshu and her daughter fell into the emerald green lake.

Yue'er was too young to swim and choked shortly after falling into the water. Li Mingshu quickly swam upwards with her daughter in her arms.

When they reached the surface, the daughter clung to Li Mingshu with both hands and feet, and Li Mingshu swam toward the shore, feeling restricted.

As soon as they reached the shore, Li Mingshu patted her daughter's back. Yue'er had choked on some water, and after patting her a few times, Li Mingshu coughed a few times to spit the water out.

After confirming that her daughter was alright, Li Mingshu looked around for Lin Changning. She saw a spot in the lake not far from the shore where bubbles were bubbling up.

There was even a faint bloodstain in the lake water. Li Mingshu left Yue'er on the shore: "Yue'er, wait for your mother here!"

After saying that, she swam straight into the lake. Li Mingshu plunged into the lake and opened her eyes in the water. Seeing the tiger and Lin Changning slowly sinking not far away, she quickly swam down to the bottom.

After reaching out and grabbing Lin Changning under her armpits, Li Mingshu swam frantically upwards. Once on the surface, she took a deep breath and dragged Lin Changning toward the shore.

Covered in mud, Yue'er squatted on the shore, watching her mother struggle to drag Uncle Lin to the bank. She couldn't help but wade into the lake with her short legs, grabbing Lin Changning's arm to help her mother drag him to the shore.

Li Mingshu laid Lin Changning flat on the shore, checked his breathing, and began pressing on his chest. She paused for a moment after touching his chest, then quickly began pressing.

After pressing down, Lin Changning's body was turned over, and his back was slapped hard.

Lin Changning vomited up the water in his stomach and coughed, the water in his lungs flowing out of his nose. Then, Lin Changning opened his eyes in a daze and turned over.

He vaguely saw Li Mingshu in front of him and then fainted again.

Li Mingshu shook Lin Changning again, but this time she couldn't wake him up no matter what she did. It was already bright outside, and the people behind could easily catch up. Lin Changning was still unconscious, so she lost her composure for a moment.

Looking at the bloodstains slowly spreading on Lin Changning's shoulder and the broken arrow, Li Mingshu felt both anxious and distressed.

Yue'er looked at the arrow in Lin Changning's shoulder and tugged at her mother's arm: "Mother, Uncle Lin won't die, will he?"

Looking at her daughter's worried face, Li Mingshu gritted her teeth and said, "No, Yue'er, can you walk by yourself?"

Yue'er nodded: "I can walk, Mother."

Li Mingshu nodded: "Yue'er, be good. We can't stay here any longer. We need to take Uncle Lin away quickly. Stay close to your mother!"

Yue'er obediently responded and helped Li Mingshu carry Lin Changning on her shoulders. She followed Li Mingshu, dragging the person forward step by step.

All three of them were soaking wet and needed to find a place to dry their clothes quickly. Not to mention the small one, Lin Changning was injured and his clothes were wet, so he was prone to overheating.

Li Mingshu carried Lin Changning on her back and walked step by step along the lake toward the mountains. There were still pursuers behind them, and they didn't know when they would catch up. So the safest thing to do was to go into the forest now.

Li Mingshu gritted her teeth, hoisted Lin Changning onto her shoulder again, and staggered as she moved step by step into the woods.

Yue'er, with her short legs and somewhat pale face, followed closely behind Li Mingshu into the woods, not wanting to worry her mother.

Li Mingshu didn't know how long she had been walking. The midday sun had dried her clothes completely, and even Lin Changning's clothes were dry on the back.

Yue'er's hair was sticking messily to her face as she panted heavily, continuing to walk forward with her mother.

Li Mingshu was exhausted and her legs gave way, causing her and Lin Changning to tumble to the ground. Yue'er, who was behind her, hurriedly stepped forward to support Li Mingshu.

"Mother, are you alright?"

Li Mingshu sat up on the ground and shook her head: "Is Mother alright?"

After saying that, he put Lin Changning's arms back on his shoulders, and supported himself with one hand on the ground, preparing to get up and continue walking.

Yue'er helped Li Mingshu up, and after catching their breath, the two continued to drag Lin Changning forward.

When they reached a stream at the foot of the forest, Li Mingshu's eyes lit up. She saw a cave at the bottom of the stream, and a huge rock next to the stream was wedged into a slanted triangle at the foot of the mountain.

Li Mingshu carried the person on her back and walked towards the cave: "Yue'er, follow me, we're going into the cave!"

The little boy followed Li Mingshu as she climbed over the rocks, waded across the stream using both hands and feet, and followed his mother into the cave.

Li Mingshu leaned Lin Changning against a rock and reached out to touch their clothes. Lin Changning's chest was still a little damp from being pressed against her back for so long, but thankfully the weather was getting warmer. Li Mingshu checked Lin Changning's head and found that he didn't have a fever, so she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

When they saw the arrow piercing Lin Changning's chest, they were in a dilemma. There was no medicine available, and if they let the wound worsen, Lin's life would be in danger.

Li Mingshu gritted her teeth: "Yue'er, you stay here and watch over your Uncle Lin. I'll go outside and get some things and water to clean your Uncle Lin's wounds."

Yue'er nodded and sat obediently next to Lin Changning.

Regardless, Lin Changning's wounds need to be cleaned, and the arrowhead left inside will eventually generate heat. Now that they are in the wilderness, it would be fatal if the fever started.

After resting for a while, Li Mingshu felt that she had regained some strength and got up to walk outside. Along the stream, Li Mingshu was somewhat delighted.

We discovered that there were quite a few small fish in the stream, and there were also several kinds of medicinal herbs by the stream.

"Little thistle, Eclipta prostrata!"

Li Mingshu's eyes lit up. She crossed the stream and picked up several kinds of herbs from the side, continuing her search for hemostatic herbs along the way.

They only stopped and prepared to return to the cave after they had picked a large handful.

As soon as they arrived at the cave, they saw their daughter sitting anxiously beside Lin Changning. Lin Changning's body was leaning to the side, his lips were pale and he was unconscious. Little Yue'er was supporting Lin Changning, trying to keep him from falling to the ground.

Li Mingshu put the herbs aside, straightened Lin Changning's body, and said to her daughter, "Yue'er, go out and find something to hold water for your mother. Don't go too far. Your mother needs to clean Uncle Lin's wounds."

Yue'er nodded, her gaze towards Lin Changning filled with sadness: "Mother, will Uncle Lin die?"
