Chapter 239 Humiliating Lin Shu

Chapter 239 Humiliating Lin Shu

The next day, in the Yunque box, the atmosphere was as luxurious as that night, but with a little more interest in watching a play.

Gu Chengyu was still the center position, leaning lazily on the sofa, holding a cigar, with his long legs casually crossed.

Chen Que, Qin Yu, and Zhou Yu'an were all there, their eyes teasing, all with the intention of enjoying the show.

The door of the box was gently pushed open and Lin Shu walked in.

She had obviously dressed up carefully; the long dress outlined her graceful curves and made her look very charming, but the uneasiness in her eyes betrayed her nervousness.

Her gaze fell directly on Gu Chengyu, and she spoke in a soft voice with obvious flattery: "Chengyu..."

Gu Chengyu raised his eyes and swept them over her without any emotion.

He didn't say anything, just casually pointed to the empty seat next to him.

Lin Shu felt relieved and sat down carefully, keeping a very low profile: "Cheng Yu, I know I was wrong."

"I was ignorant and impulsive before."

"I said those words about terminating the contract were just angry words. I was just too afraid of losing you."

She observed his expression, and seeing that he had no reaction, she mustered up the courage to move closer, her voice becoming softer and more charming:

"Let's make peace, okay? From now on I'll listen to you and never act so willfully again."

She reached out and tried to pull his sleeve tentatively.

Just when her fingertips were about to touch him, Gu Chengyu finally moved.

He turned slightly to avoid her touch, then slowly put out the cigar in the ashtray.

The movements were slow and methodical, yet carried an invisible sense of pressure and contempt.

He spoke, his voice calm, "Lin Shu, do you still think that I can't bear to part with you? Can we reconcile just by saying so?"

Lin Shu's smile froze on her face.

Gu Chengyu raised his eyes, looking at her with cold sarcasm in his eyes: "

Why do you think I can't see through your underhanded tactics and your repeated attempts to play hard to get?"

Lin Shu's face turned pale and she tried to explain, "I'm not..."

Gu Chengyu interrupted her, his tone harsh: "Not what?"

"Aren't you trying to figure out how to get close to me? Aren't you trying to test my limits by taking advantage of that little bit of novelty?"

"Lin Shu, you think too highly of yourself."

"I, Gu Chengyu, have never lacked women around me, and I have never lacked people like you who think they can control me just because they are a little bit pretty."

He sneered, "As for being obedient? When have you ever truly been obedient? You've only been acting, pretending you're sensible, affectionate, and willing to compromise."

"It's a shame, the acting is getting worse and worse, it's really disgusting to watch."

Every word he said was extremely humiliating and pierced Lin Shu's heart. She looked at him in disbelief.

She hadn't expected that he would speak so bluntly and embarrassingly, tearing all her disguise and self-esteem to pieces.

"Cheng Yu, how can you say that to me..."

Her voice trembled: "At least, I really like you..."

"Like?" Gu Chengyu seemed to have heard a joke.

"Your liking is still somewhat useful."

He turned his head to glance at the people next to him, shrugged cooperatively, and looked amused.

He slowly delivered the final blow, his tone cruel, "This three-month gamble, with your request for reconciliation as the stake, seems to be the winner."

Lin Shu's eyes suddenly widened.

Gambling? She was the stakes?

In his eyes, her three months of suffering, calculation, and waiting were nothing more than a bet for his brothers' amusement?

"You bet on me?" Her body trembled uncontrollably.

Gu Chengyu just watched her collapse indifferently, as if he was watching a farce that had nothing to do with him.

He lost his patience and didn't bother to look at her any more. He said in a contemptuous tone, "Go away."

"Stop embarrassing yourself here."

Lin Shu could no longer bear it. She stood up suddenly, staggered backward, and knocked over the wine glass on the table without noticing.

She stared at Gu Chengyu, her eyes full of humiliation. Finally, she turned around and rushed out of the box in a mess.

The door of the box was slammed shut, blocking out her uncontrollable crying.

“Tsk.”

Qin Yu was the first to break the silence: "Cheng Yu, you really don't know how to be gentle with women."

Shen Que shook his wine glass and smiled like a fox: "I'm afraid Miss Lin will hate you to death now."

"However, I'm even more curious about what kind of celestial being could have allowed our Crown Prince Gu to win the bet so easily, without even showing any mercy to his former love?"

He leaned forward and said, "You hid it so well, why don't you bring it out for the brothers to see?"

Zhou Yu'an also pushed his gold-rimmed glasses, his eyes filled with curiosity.

Gu Chengyu dusted off the cigarette ash and thought of the soft little thing at home, and a smile unconsciously appeared on the corner of his lips.

"She is timid and shy." There was obvious indulgence in his tone.

This appearance aroused everyone's interest.

"Shy of strangers? Would your woman, Gu Chengyu, be shy of strangers?" Qin Yu started to tease.

"No, no, we have to shout it out! Let's see who it is!"

"That's right." Shen Que agreed.

"Make a phone call and have someone pick it up. It's perfect for celebrating your win!"

Gu Chengyu was annoyed by their noise, but a certain secret desire to show off was aroused in his heart.

He took out his cell phone and called his special assistant.

"Go to the apartment and pick up Qianqian." He ordered concisely.

In the underground garage, Lin Shu sat in her sports car in a daze, tears streaming down her face. Her carefully drawn eyeliner was smudged into a mess, and she looked in a state of disarray.

She didn't understand, how could it become like this?

Just as she was immersed in anger and despair, a Rolls-Royce slowly drove into the garage and parked in an exclusive parking space not far away.

That car looked so familiar; it was one of Gu Chengyu's usual vehicles.

Lin Shu's heart skipped a beat and she subconsciously held her breath.

The driver's door opened, and the person who got out was Gu Chengyu's chief special assistant?

The man who always had only one expression towards her now respectfully walked around to the back seat and opened the door.

A slender foot wearing exquisite thin-strap high heels timidly stretched out and stepped on the ground. Then, a delicate and frail figure got out of the car, protected by a special assistant.

The girl had long, slightly curly hair that fell on her shoulders. Her profile was delicate, and her skin glowed white even in the dim garage light.

She seemed a little nervous and whispered something to her special assistant.

The special assistant nodded slightly with a respectful attitude.

Is it Su Qianqian?

Lin Shu was struck by lightning and her pupils contracted.

How could it be her? Why would Gu Chengyu's special assistant personally drive to pick her up? And come to Yunque?

In a flash, all the previous doubts were connected: Su Qianqian's sudden resources, her sick leave, Gu Chengyu's sudden indifference...

An answer that she had suspected but was unwilling to believe surfaced.

How is it possible? How could it be this little assistant? Why did she do that?

Lin Shu watched Su Qianqian, led by the special assistant, walk towards the exclusive elevator that led directly to the top-floor box. For some unknown reason, she suddenly pushed open the door and followed.

She wanted to know the truth! She had to see it with her own eyes!
