Chapter 26 Flattered

Chapter 26 Flattered

Gu Chengyu was a little flattered. So proactive?

He subconsciously opened his arms and steadily caught the soft and fragrant body.

She threw herself into his arms, burying her little face in the expensive fabric of his shirt on her chest, her arms tightly wrapped around his waist.

"What's wrong?" Gu Chengyu's heart softened. His arms naturally wrapped around her slender waist, which was so thin that it could be held in one hand, and he pressed her closer to him.

He lowered his head and rubbed his chin against the top of her hair, which exuded its own sweet fragrance. His voice was low and soft, "Miss me so much? Huh?"

The little head in my arms shook, but remained buried, refusing to speak.

But the slight sobbing sound was clearly heard.

Gu Chengyu's heart sank.

The feeling of being flattered faded, replaced by heartache and a hint of panic.

What happened? He had been pampering her for the past half month, except in bed. It couldn't be his fault...

Gu Chengyu no longer hesitated. He held her knees firmly with one arm and protected her back with the other hand. With a little effort, he easily lifted her up sideways.

The man was tall and straight, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His arms, wrapped in a black shirt, were muscular and powerful. He could pick up a delicate girl like her with ease and beauty.

Su Qianqian dangled on her toes for a moment, and instinctively put her arms around his neck, burying her little face deeper into his neck, her warm breath spraying on his sensitive skin.

Gu Chengyu held her in his arms and walked a few steps to the large sofa in the living room and sat down.

He didn't put her down, but let her sit sideways on his strong thighs, as if holding a fragile treasure.

One of his arms was wrapped tightly around her slender waist, and with the other hand, he gently, yet somewhat forcibly, lifted her chin that was buried in the crook of his neck.

"Be good, lift your head and let me see." His voice was low and coaxing. "Who has wronged our baby? Tell me, and I'll skin him alive, okay?"

Su Qianqian was half-forced by him to raise her head.

Under the light, that pure and charming little face, with wet eyes filled with deep grievance and sadness, was looking at him without blinking.

Gu Chengyu's heart felt like it was twisted by something, making it feel both sore and numb.

Except for the time when he bullied her badly in bed and she got beaten up, when had he ever seen her look so pitiful?

He dotes on the little girl who he dares not to mess with. Who is so bold?

"What's wrong? Speak."

His fingertips, covered with thin calluses, rubbed the red corners of her eyes, trying to wipe away the wetness. The heartache in his voice almost overflowed: "Baby, who bullied you? I'll vent your anger for you, okay? Hmm?"

As soon as the word "baby" came out of his mouth, the tears that Su Qianqian had been holding back finally rolled down with a "pop" and hit the back of Gu Chengyu's other hand.

That little bit of moisture seemed to carry a scorching temperature, which made Gu Chengyu's heart numb and his whole arm stiffen.

Damn! Are you really crying?

Gu Chengyu was a little panicked. All the decisiveness and strategic planning in the business world no longer existed at this moment.

He hurriedly wiped her tears, his tone more clumsy and coaxing than ever before: "Don't cry, don't cry... It's my fault, I came back late... Don't cry, baby..."

Su Qianqian felt even more aggrieved when he coaxed her.

She sobbed and buried her face in his broad, warm neck again. Her voice was muffled, nasal, and full of jealousy: "...It's your ex-girlfriend..."

"Ex-girlfriend?" Gu Chengyu was stunned, and his brows instantly twisted into knots.

Where did his ex-girlfriend come from?

In the past, this word did not exist in Gu Chengyu's dictionary.

Among those beautiful girls, which one is worthy?

It was only recently that I had a darling like her, whom I pampered in my heart and gave her a legitimate status.

In a flash, Lin Shu's beautiful face flashed through his mind. Was he referring to her as his ex-girlfriend?

Gu Chengyu recalled the last time in the backstage corridor when Lin Shu tearfully accused him.

Before he could figure it out, the little trace Lin Shu left in his heart was quickly erased by the sobbing of the girl in his arms.

"She is not my ex-girlfriend." Gu Chengyu denied categorically.

But looking at the aggrieved look of the person in his arms who said, "I don't want to listen, I don't want to listen," he reluctantly compromised and said, "Forget it, just take it as it is."

He tightened his grip around her waist, and his tone darkened with coldness: "Did she bully you? Lin Shu?"

"I'll have someone teach her a lesson, okay? I'll make sure she avoids you next time she sees you."

"No!" Su Qianqian suddenly raised her head, staring at him with red eyes, with a bit of stubborn willfulness, "You are not allowed to interfere!"

"Hmm?" Gu Chengyu was stunned again by her reaction, and then he laughed.

He pinched the tip of her nose, which was slightly red from crying. "Are you jealous? Can't I vent your anger for you?"

"You are not allowed to interfere!" Su Qianqian repeated, her voice soft and sticky after crying, more like she was acting coquettishly.

"You are not allowed to go to her. You promised not to tell anyone about our relationship... Don't let her find out."

As she spoke, she buried her little face back in his neck and rubbed it, like a little animal seeking comfort, "...You are not allowed to go to her..."

Gu Chengyu was left in a state of confusion by her logic, but feeling the dependent gestures and soft accusations of the person in his arms, he felt incredibly soft-hearted.

He lowered his head, resting his chin on the top of her head, and sighed helplessly and dotingly.

"Okay, okay, I'll listen to you. My Qianqian." He held her tightly, and his big hands gently patted her slender back, like coaxing a grumpy baby.

"Don't look for her. Then tell me, how did she bully you? Hmm? Tell me."

Su Qianqian buried herself in the crook of his neck, feeling the soothing ebony scent on him. The grievances that had been suppressed for a whole week finally found an outlet to vent.

She began to accuse him in a sullen and intermittent manner...
