"Okay," Chu Wanyi said with a smile, "Thank you, Xiaobao."
Xiaobao also looked at him and smiled, then waved to them and skipped into the building.
Lu Jiaming then drove out of the community, found the nearest parking lot, and drove in in a hurry.
"Tell me now, what's going on?"
Chu Wanyi took a deep breath and said slowly, "Mingming, regarding my fear of the dark and thunder... do you know the reason?"
Lu Jiaming froze and hummed, "I know."
"But don't blame the housekeeper. He told me because you and I have a good relationship and he wanted me to help you."
"I don't blame him," Chu Wanyi said softly, "Since you know my past, it will be much easier to explain."
"The two boys who bullied me when I was a kid were Song He and Jiang Zhao. They locked me up, and that really pissed off my dad. So he mobilized all his power and shut down both of their companies. They went bankrupt in just one month, and I haven't seen them since."
Chu Wanyi lowered his eyes, his tone becoming heavy. "But half a month ago, I accidentally noticed them at a banquet. I thought I was seeing things, but later I sent someone to investigate, and it turned out to be them."
"In other words, they re-established the company?" Lu Jia frowned and said in a deep voice.
"Yes, and they should have developed by now," Chu Wanyi said, "Without a certain amount of capital, they would not be able to enter that banquet."
Lu Jiaming's heart trembled, and a bad feeling grew stronger. He quickly said, "If they were just simply running the company, you wouldn't be so worried and nervous. So... there's something else, right?"
"Xiao Chu, tell me the truth, are they looking for trouble with you, or are they targeting you on the project?"
