Chapter 43 The Wind Rises

That day, they chatted until very late. Although they didn't drink and the dishes on the table were cold, no one left early. Instead, they were all immersed in this little noise with an unsatisfied look on their faces.

Finally, Xiaobao and the others were so sleepy that their eyelids were fighting each other, and then they went back to their rooms and fell asleep.

Lu Ziyi helped Lu Zixiao and Lin Ze clean up the leftovers and dishes. Seeing them busying around the kitchen, he couldn't help but persuade them, "Brother, wash the dishes tomorrow. It's quite late. Go to bed early."

"It's okay, it's not much, I'll be done in a minute," Lu Zixiao said. "I have a tutoring class tomorrow morning, so I won't have time to cook. There's only half a plate of dumplings left, and it's definitely not enough. Ziyi, get up and buy some cakes or buns or something."

"Okay, I see," Lu Ziyi replied, "What about tonight? Should I take them out for dinner?"

"No need." Lu Zixiao continued washing the dishes, but a smile appeared on his lips unconsciously. "I'll rearrange my tutoring schedule and won't be accepting new children for the time being. I'll try to come back early every day."

Lu Ziyi immediately understood and chuckled, "We've been talking to you until our lips are almost worn out, but you remained indifferent. It really took Xiaobao to deal with you. He immediately made you, a money-grubber, waver."

"Qian Chuanzi?" Lu Zixiao turned to look at him, his eyebrows slightly raised. "Who gave me that nickname?"

Lu Ziyi smiled and shrugged: "Guess"

"Don't worry about who came up with it." Lin Ze helped put away the washed dishes and came over to interject, "Anyway, I think it's quite appropriate."

"You're everywhere!" Lu Zixiao glared at him, "Pour out the remaining water in the bowl before you put it away!"

"I know, I know." Lin Ze was flustered by his command and muttered softly, "I can't stand it if you keep being so mean every day!"

Lu Zixiao ignored him. Seeing Lu Ziyi still standing at the door without moving, he asked in confusion, "Why don't you go back to sleep?"

"I'm not in a hurry, and I'm not particularly sleepy."

As Lu Ziyi spoke, he fixed his eyes on Lin Ze and said jokingly, "I just want to see whether you're going to stay or leave today, Lin Ze."

"Tsk," Lin Ze spread his hands helplessly, "Doesn't this depend on your elder brother? Let's see if he lets me stay."

Lu Zixiao suddenly became the focus of their attention. For a moment, he felt a little uncomfortable. He turned his head and coughed lightly: "Whether you want to stay or not, I can't control you because your legs are on your body."

"Hey! You heartless thing!" Lin Ze poked his arm with his index finger. "I've been helping you all day, and now it's almost eleven o'clock in the evening. It's hard to hail a taxi around here, and you won't even give me a break?"

"No," Lu Zixiao didn't even look at him, "There's no extra room for you to sleep."

"But I saw that kid Li Mingyang and Xiaobao squeeze into the same bed, and you didn't stop them..."

Lin Ze winked at him meaningfully and asked in a low voice, "Isn't the sofa bed in the living room prepared for me?"

Lu Ziyi suppressed his smile and walked out of the kitchen, turning around and walking towards the bedroom with light steps.

After hearing what he said, Lu Zixiao's body stiffened, his ears turned red visibly, and then he walked out with big strides.

"If you don't want to sleep, get out now!"

Lu Zixiao couldn't control the volume of this sentence, and Lin Ze could feel that there was a hint of anger in it.

Such a tsundere.

Lin Ze silently complained in his heart, then walked into the living room in a good mood. As the last light was turned off, everything returned to calm again.

. . . . . .

Lu Zixiao really kept his word. After a few days, Xiaobao discovered that he actually came home much earlier than before.

Sometimes he would even come back and cook dinner right away, instead of making it in advance and letting them eat it hot as before. If he had nothing to do after dinner, he would watch cartoons with Xiaobao.

Lu Zixiao immediately realized how happy it was to have the little one say good night to him sweetly every day.

"It seems like big brother will be back today to cook dinner for us," Xiaobao stared at the chat page on his phone, smiling, "He said that after get off work he and big brother will go shopping for ingredients, and they want to stock up on some vegetables that don't spoil easily so they can make something delicious for us."

"Xiaobao," Lu Yuxuan called him with a sigh, "Big Brother comes home early every day, are you really that happy?"

"Of course I'm happy." The little guy's two bare feet began to swing. "Big brother can rest earlier if he comes back earlier. Fifth brother, haven't you noticed? Big brother's complexion has improved a lot recently."

"Yes," Lu Yuxuan's tone became heavier. "Then didn't you notice that your fifth brother's face has become worse?"

"Um?"

Xiaobao finally realized that something was wrong. Just as he was about to ask him if he was sick, his eyes caught sight of the two exercise books and several blank papers on the table in front of him.

"Fifth brother, school starts in half a month. Haven't you finished the homework that Second brother assigned to you?"

Logically speaking, Lu Yuxuan is in the first grade of junior high school, so he doesn't have any homework during this holiday.

But in order to help him pass the entrance examination, Lu Ziyi still assigned him some exercises.

After Xiaobao asked this question, Lu Yuxuan couldn't hold it in any longer. He cried out to the sky, "Can you blame me? I had the answers to those questions in my hand. I could have taken a look at the ones I didn't know."

"Ever since Big Brother came back early, he's discovered my answers. This tyrant... he took them all away from me! Wuuwuwuwuwuwuwu..."

"My answer died even more miserably than Zhao Si's father, wuwuwu..."

Although he was just talking nonsense and not shedding a single tear, the noise was really loud. Li Mingyang was still on the phone in the yard and now he kept turning his head to look into the house.
