Chapter 47 Cause and Effect

After finishing talking about Yang Feng, the room was inexplicably silent for a long time. After an unknown amount of time, Xiaobao's milky voice aroused their thoughts again.

"Brother, what's going on with that little aunt?"

He really wanted to know. Perhaps it was because this person appeared too many times in his brothers' mouths, so every time Xiaobao was about to forget about her, she would pop up again.

"My aunt, that's the conflict between our parents' generation." Lu Jiayang turned his head and looked at Lu Zixiao, "Brother, please tell us in detail this time. We also want to know..."

Lu Zixiao hummed, then slowly spoke under their inquisitive gazes, "Grandpa and Grandma have three children: Dad, my aunt, and my uncle. You've all seen my aunt's personality; she's not close to Grandpa and Grandma. And my uncle stayed away from home after going to college and rarely comes back."

"Grandma died of a sudden heart attack and didn't have time to say anything. My parents contacted my uncle and asked him to come back for the funeral, but he said he was busy with work and didn't come back. My aunt didn't go either."

"Fuck! Isn't that too much?" Lu Jiaming couldn't help but interrupt. "They weren't filial to the old man when he was alive, and now they don't even bother to look after him now that he's passed away? What kind of cold-blooded creatures are they? They can't even be found in the Shan Hai Jing, right?!"

"That's right!" Xiao Bao snorted angrily, "They are all utterly heartless villains!"

"Be good, don't be angry." Li Mingyang chuckled and poked his puffed cheeks. "You're so angry that you've become a pufferfish."

Lu Zixiao glanced at him, then subtly pulled away his claws that were teasing Xiaobao, and continued, "It's precisely because they are so unfilial that Grandpa and Mom and Dad are even more dissatisfied with them. As Dad said before, they should be thankful for their own upbringing for not scolding them directly."

"About a year after my grandmother passed away, my grandfather was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer and was soon hospitalized. During that time, my parents had to work and take care of us, so they were too busy to rest. Jiaming was born not long ago and was still breastfeeding at just a few months old. Sometimes, when my mother was not at home for a whole day, he would cry out of hunger."

At this point, Lu Zixiao laughed for no reason. "Mom said that when Jiaming cries, he howls at the top of his lungs. Jiayang has just learned to walk and is not very steady. When Jiaming cries, he is so scared that he sits on the ground and starts crying too."

"I was only four at the time, so I don't remember clearly. My parents told me that when they got home, they saw Ziyi and I each holding a child. They didn't know what to do and looked like they were about to cry."

This was a memory none of them knew about. After listening to him, they couldn't help but imagine the scene in their minds. It was sad and warm, cute and funny.

"I've strayed off topic. Let me get back to business." Lu Zixiao cleared his throat. "After Grandpa was hospitalized for a while, Mom and Dad were too busy to handle the situation, so they contacted my aunt and uncle and asked them to come help take care of him. The three families took turns taking turns taking care of him. Dad even said he could pay them nursing fees."

"I guess they definitely didn't go," said Lu Yuxuan.

"Well, no one went." Lu Zixiao's face suddenly turned cold. "Not only that, my aunt also said that if a dying person is waiting for one day more or one day less, what difference does it make? It's all a waste of money and time."

"Oh my god, fuck my second uncle!" Lu Yuxuan was so angry that he stood up. "Is this guy's heart made of fucking stone? It's so cold and hard!"

"Beast" Lu Ziyi pushed his glasses, the fierce look in his eyes did not diminish.

Li Mingyang held Xiaobao's hand, comforting the exasperated little fellow while saying in a deep voice, "She will suffer retribution for speaking and acting like this!"

"Brother, you go ahead and talk first," Lu Jiaming said, "Let me get rid of my anger all at once. I don't want to be angry intermittently."

Lu Zixiao nodded. "According to my parents, Grandpa Li and Grandma Li helped them, which gave them a sigh of relief. However, since it was in the late stage of cancer and Grandpa was old, his lifespan was fading faster than expected, and he passed away not long after."

"The house we live in now was originally under my grandfather's name, and my grandparents had hundreds of thousands of yuan in savings when they were alive. Now my aunt and uncle have come uninvited."

Lu Zixiao said coldly, "But what they didn't expect was that while Grandpa was in the hospital, he forced himself to write a will despite his frail body, and secretly asked Grandpa Li to help stamp it to make it effective. The house and all the property belonged to our father, and the two of them were left with nothing."

"Well done!" Lu Jiaming shouted, "Grandpa is indeed wise!"

"Then why did they fight over this house for so long?" Lu Jiayang asked with a frown, "Couldn't even the will make them behave?"

"They're unwilling to accept this, believing that our father forced Grandpa to write the will," Lu Zixiao said with a gloomy face. "To put it bluntly, they didn't contribute anything, yet they want a piece of the property."

"Shameless!" Xiaobao huddled in Li Mingyang's arms and finally calmed down, but he immediately got angry again.

When he looked up suddenly, he accidentally bumped into Li Mingyang's chin.

Look at how these two are making Xiaobao angry! My heart aches! My jaw hurts too! Li Mingyang thought to himself.

"They have no shame at all!" Lu Zixiao's voice was filled with anger. "At first, my parents didn't agree to divide the property between them, so the two of them came to our house every now and then to make trouble. Many times, it affected our normal life. Later, when my mother became pregnant with Xiaobao, my father was worried that they would hurt the child if they continued to make such trouble, so he found a time to talk to them."

"My parents didn't touch a cent of the property left by my grandfather during those years. The three families discussed and divided it equally. But even though my father made such a big concession, they still didn't let go of this house."
