Lu Ziyi and Lu Jiayang came back quickly. When Xiaobao came out of the kitchen with the washed fruits, he saw them changing shoes in the living room.
"Second brother, third brother, you are back," the little guy said cheerfully, "Come and have some fruit, my big brother and I went out to buy some today."
"So many! Let me try some." Lu Jiayang casually picked up a grape and put it in his mouth. "Hmm! It's delicious. It tastes different from ordinary grapes. This one is more fragrant."
"Really? Then I'll try a small persimmon." Lu Ziyi's eyes lit up after eating one. "It's really different. It's sour and sweet with a strong milky flavor."
"Xiaobao, where did you buy these fruits?"
Xiaobao laughed and said, "I bought it at Brother Ze's supermarket."
"I see," Lu Ziyi smiled, "Since it's Lin Ze's supermarket, it's not surprising."
"But I think Big Brother should go a few more times," Lu Jiayang said with a raised eyebrow and a smile, "I saw that he bought so much. I guess most of the fruits in the supermarket must be his favorites."
"Yes, indeed," Lu Ziyi nodded, "but it may not be easy for Big Brother to go there more often. After all, the East District is quite far away, and Big Brother will definitely think it is a waste of time."
Lu Jiayang and Xiaobao looked at each other, smiled and made a hushing gesture.
Xiaobao once again realized the necessity of electric cars.
Lu Jiayang had been substituting for classes for a whole day and was indeed quite tired. He said a few words to Xiaobao and then returned to his room and collapsed on the bed.
Xiaobao quietly took a look into his room from the door, but didn't see Lu Jiaming. So he looked in other places, but still didn't see him.
He walked into his room with a question mark in his head, but unexpectedly found Lu Jiaming sitting on the chair in front of his study desk.
"Fourth brother, you are here," Xiaobao said, "I have been looking for you for a long time."
"I was waiting for you to come back in your room." Lu Jiaming reached out to catch the little guy who rushed over and scratched his nose with his fingers.
"By the way, Fourth Brother, how's your part-time job search going?"
Speaking of this, Lu Jiaming sighed deeply: "To be honest with you, Xiaobao, I went out and asked around today, and either you have to work a full month before you get paid, or you work yourself to death and still earn very little money."
"Is there no suitable one?" Xiaobao asked in a low voice.
"Not yet," Lu Jiaming said with a melancholy look, "Xiaobao, think about it, there's still more than a week left until the birthdays of the eldest and second brothers. Summer vacation jobs pay 80 yuan a day, which is only 800 yuan for ten days. Adding to my savings, that's still not enough to buy an electric car."
"I can't really put all the pressure on my third brother."
"That's right..." Xiaobao thought for a moment, "How about I give you two thousand dollars, Fourth Brother?"
"No, no, I have another solution." Lu Jiaming took out his phone and said, "My friend found some companies that are hiring part-time workers. I'll call them and ask."
"Okay, then Fourth Brother, you go and fight," Xiao Bao whispered, "I'll keep watch for you. Don't let Big Brother and Second Brother hear you."
Lu Jiaming chuckled, rubbed the top of his head, and dialed the first number.
"Hello, is this company xxx? I'd like to inquire about part-time jobs during the holidays."
"Hello, our company's summer employees are generally salespeople, primarily responsible for various service tasks, large and small..."
"Oh, just running errands," Lu Jiaming said. "Is the salary paid daily? How much per day?"
"100 yuan a day. Also, can you accept unpaid overtime?"
"...Black Impermanence or White Impermanence?" Lu Jiaming knew it was inappropriate when he heard this, but he still couldn't help but want to retort.
"Sir, you're so humorous. It's not about impermanence, it means voluntary overtime."
"Yeah, I understand," Lu Jiaming said nonchalantly, "Next time you're recruiting volunteers, just let me know earlier to save other people the trouble."
After saying that, he hung up the phone and pinched his eyebrows.
"It's okay, Fourth Brother. If this one doesn't work, we can try another one." Xiao Bao comforted him softly, "There's always one that suits you."
Lu Jiaming was amused by his words and regained his spirits to dial the next number.
"Hello sir, our part-time job here pays 1500 a month and the work schedule is 997. Do you think you can accept that?"
Lu Jiaming: "Sorry, slavery is unacceptable"
. . . .
"Hello, our company's summer employees may need to work overtime. Can you stay up late?"
"I can stay up late," Lu Jiaming said, "but I can't stay up late and work overtime."
. . . .
"Sir, our company has great development prospects. Many people want to join but can't. Would you like to consider it?"
"What's wrong? Is your company's lock broken?" Lu Jiaming said, "My brother can fix locks. It's 200 yuan for local people and 1,000 yuan for people from other places. Remember to pay."
. . . .
After hanging up countless calls, Lu Jiaming continued to call with an impatient look on his face. Xiaobao felt that he was about to jump up and hit someone.
"...This is roughly the situation at our company. Our boss wants all employees to be more diligent. Already, many of them frequently work overtime until late at night, sometimes even around the clock..."
Lu Jiaming's head started buzzing when he heard the word "overtime". He retorted without hesitation: "Your company is so awesome, but you only hire animals? You're risking your life to work like this!"
. . . .
Xiaobao discovered that Lu Jiaming was already on the verge of giving up. For example, at this moment, the person on the other end of the phone chattered a lot, and finally said, "Sir, do you have any advantages? Can you tell me about it?"
