After dinner, Lu Ziyi took Lu Jiaming and Lu Yuxuan to the house next door where Yang Feng lived, intending to help him clean up.
While Lin Ze and Lu Zixiao were talking in the bedroom, Lu Jiayang paced back and forth in the living room nervously and anxiously.
"Third brother, what's wrong with you?" Xiaobao finally couldn't help asking, "You're shaking me so hard that I'm dizzy."
"Baby, I'm anxious." Lu Jiayang sat down next to him and hugged the little guy, "Let me hug you, give me some good luck."
"Okay, okay," Xiaobao said with a soft smile, "But Third Brother, you have to tell me what it is first, so that the good luck effect can be accurately added to you."
Lu Jiayang sighed and said gloomily, "I'm going to tell my brother about the art competition."
"That's great, Third Brother," Xiao Bao patted his arm excitedly, "You will definitely succeed in getting Big Brother to agree."
"Is this your premonition, baby?" Lu Jiayang asked.
"No," Xiaobao said softly, "This time it's based on my understanding of big brother."
Lu Jiayang tutted his words, a little puzzled: "Baby, why do you and Brother Ze say that? But I'm also Big Brother's younger brother. Is it because I don't know him well enough?"
"Third brother, is it possible that you don't trust yourself enough?" Xiao Bao pushed him with a smile in his eyes, "Go quickly, big brother is coming out"
Lu Jiayang jumped up from the sofa and stared at the two of them in a daze as they walked out of the room one after another.
Lin Ze glanced at him, waved his hand and left. However, before he could speak, Lu Zixiao called out to him, "Jiayang, come here."
Lu Jiayang swallowed subconsciously.
He even turned his head to look for Xiaobao, wanting to see that innocent and cute little face to cheer himself up, but he didn't expect that the little guy had quietly hidden back in the room.
At this point, he had no choice but to go ahead with it.
When Lu Jiayang walked into the bedroom, Lu Zixiao was tidying up the bed sheets. He thought about it and decided to speak first.
"Brother, I... want to tell you something"
"Well," Lu Zixiao patted the bed, "sit down and talk."
Lu Jiayang strode over and sat next to him, their hands clasped together unnaturally. He took a deep breath and spoke directly.
"Brother, I'm sorry, I secretly signed up for the National Art Student Selection Competition without telling you."
"At that time, I really wanted to work hard for my dream again. I was afraid you wouldn't agree, so I signed up without asking you. Don't be angry..."
Lu Jiayang lowered his head as he spoke, not daring to look at Lu Zixiao's expression. "But now the content of the competition has changed a little. I might... I might not be selected. I don't know if you will blame me for acting impulsively, for not considering the consequences, or even..."
"I don't know what to do anymore..."
The air suddenly became very quiet, but Lu Jiayang never dared to raise his head.
"Jiayang" Lu Zixiao called him softly, "Look up at me"
Lu Jiayang's body stiffened, but he still slowly raised his head to meet his gaze. When their eyes met, he realized that Lu Zixiao didn't seem to be that surprised or angry.
Unexpectedly calm.
"You are working hard and fighting for your dreams, and there is nothing shameful about that," Lu Zixiao said, "so I won't allow you to act so humble."
Lu Jiayang was a little dazed, his brain seemed to freeze for a moment, and he opened his mouth but couldn't say a word.
"Why do you think I would disagree?" Lu Zixiao asked.
"Because my parents once said that this road is not easy for ordinary people like us," Lu Jiayang said dejectedly, "I agree with them."
"But becoming a real star and standing on the stage has been my dream since I was a child. This art competition in high school is the best opportunity, and I... don't want to miss it."
"From my parents' perspective, I really shouldn't agree," Lu Zixiao said seriously. Seeing Lu Jiayang's gradually lost expression, he softened his tone and said, "But I decided to change my perspective."
"What?" Lu Jiayang suddenly raised his eyes.
Lu Zixiao said softly, "Jiayang, your hesitation now is nothing more than the fear of choosing the wrong path and leaving regrets, right?"
Lu Jiayang: “…Yes.”
Lu Zixiao looked him in the eyes seriously. "Imagine this: if you participated in an art student competition and were successfully selected, and entered the entertainment industry with your qualifications and looks, but you found that you had no connections, few opportunities, and had to make everything on your own, would you regret not choosing the more stable path?"
"If you hadn't participated in the competition, but instead continued to concentrate on studying for college, and years later you had a decent job with a stable income, but you looked at the rising stars constantly appearing on TV, would you regret not being more decisive and brave?"
Lu Jiayang bit his lower lip tightly, he seemed to understand the meaning of these words.
"No matter which path you choose, it's impossible not to have any regrets," Lu Zixiao continued. "In that case, why not fight for your own dream?"
"Jiayang, I just want to ask you one question: whether it's singing, dancing, or even performing various scenes, can it truly make you happy?"
"Yes," Lu Jiayang answered seriously and solemnly, "Not only was I happy, I always felt that I was the real me at that time."
Lu Zixiao nodded: "Then do it, don't think about anything else"
"Just work hard and let God do the rest"
