Chapter 3 A Good Idea (2/2)

"Yeah." Mother Su sighed, "With the friendship between your grandfather and Old Master Xiao, I don't worry about the Xiao family bullying you at least."

"Okay, Mom will tell your dad and the elders of the Xiao family to discuss the marriage in person, and your parents will also prepare your dowry for you."

Su's mother was busy all the time.

Now that you have decided to accept this marriage, you must prepare well.

At least when it comes to the dowry, it cannot be unacceptable, as it is the key factor that determines Su Wanwan's status in her husband's family after she gets married.

Mother Su wiped her tears, took off her apron, turned around and went to the main room to look for Grandma Su.

"Grandma, in the final analysis, it was my sister-in-law and the others who were wrong." Mother Su found Grandma Su and said solemnly, "Since Wanwan is marrying into the Xiao family now, you must be responsible for Wanwan's dowry. Otherwise, the Xiao family will be laughed at and asked why they married a daughter-in-law who doesn't even have a wedding dress, a set of good bedding, and no dowry money at the bottom of the box. This is not just for Wanwan, but for the entire Su family."

"After all, everyone knows that our second branch of the Su family is farming in the countryside and doesn't earn much at all."

"Of course, as a mother, I can't make any money, but I won't touch the betrothal gifts from the Xiao family. Naturally, I should give them all to Wanwan as a dowry."

Grandma Su was furious. "Su Wanwan is getting married. Not only does she have to take the betrothal gifts, but she also wants the family to prepare dowry and bedding? No way!"

Mother Su had always been accustomed to Grandma Su's partiality, so she didn't care about being angry at this moment. She just said disdainfully, "Then you can just wait to offend the Xiao family."

"I heard that Big Brother wants to be a supervisor recently?"

When Grandma Su heard this, she looked like a chicken with its neck pinched, her eyes wandering as she began to think.

Su's mother sneered in her heart. Her husband and third brother were both grandma Su's sons. With the relationship with the Xiao family, not only did they not get to work in the factory opened by Xiao's mother and become ordinary people, but they were only concerned about the further development of their eldest brother's family.

This is enough to show how partial Grandma Su is. Don't blame her for scheming for her own children.

Su's mother was determined not to let Su Wanwan suffer any loss.

The two sides went back and forth, and Su's mother left a message, "Mom, you don't have to prepare a dowry for Wanwan. The child's father and I will prepare it, and all the betrothal gifts can be given to Wanwan to bring to the Xiao family. Don't let people laugh at our Su family for being greedy and offending the Xiao family."

"You don't have to pay for anything anyway." Su's mother sneered in her heart.

Grandma Su raised her eyes and glanced at her, pretending to be generous and took a sip of the sugar water in the enamel cup. "Since you are willing to pay for your child as a mother, I will naturally not stop you. How can I accept the betrothal gift from the Xiao family?"

Su's mother didn't want to expose her hypocritical words.

Anyway, now that she has gained tangible benefits, not to mention her eldest sister-in-law's family's plot against them, she will definitely not let Wanwan's marriage gift end up in the mouths of her eldest brother and sister-in-law and become the money for their son's marriage.

Did she know that Su Hao was dating someone from the same working-class family, and that they would be getting married at least next year, and that if the three-year-old girl gave him the money for the betrothal gift, and if the sister-in-law didn't plot against them, she could take the other person's surname!

"Of course I know that you are a well-mannered person, mom." Su's mother smiled and said some insincere compliments.

When he turned around and left, his eyes were almost rolled up to the sky.

She was not idle either. She first communicated the news to Su's father who was working on the land, and then informed her third brother and his wife about the two marriages.

Su's mother told Aunt Su what the old lady meant.

Aunt Su San also has three children. The oldest is sixteen and will be getting married soon. When she heard that her daughter could take away the betrothal gifts given by her in-laws, Aunt Su San understood what Mother Su meant. The two sisters-in-law, together with the two brothers, united to promote this matter together. They must not let Uncle Su's words make Grandma Su change her mind.
