Chapter 24 An unexpected event

Su Chenyu smiled slightly: "When the Ministry of Internal Affairs sent the dress, it was already late at night and I had already gone to bed. I tried on the dress this morning, but I didn't expect it to be a good fit. Fortunately, Madam Xu still had my mother's dress, so I tried it on and it fit me well."

The Queen's face froze. She had specifically instructed the Imperial Household Department not to send it in advance, for fear that the Vermilion Bird pattern would be discovered.

Concubine Yun took the opportunity to say, "Empress, the Emperor asked me to help manage the palace and worry about you. The sacrificial ceremony was complicated, but you didn't let me get involved. Now that something went wrong, are you going to blame the princess?"

Su Chenyu could probably guess that Concubine Yun and the Queen had been fighting fiercely these days, and it seemed that Concubine Yun was temporarily at a disadvantage.

"Empress, the sacrificial ceremony is very important. If you don't have the energy, you can ask Concubine Yun to help you." Emperor Jing of Wei came over. This was the first time she reprimanded the queen for Su Chenyu.

The Queen's smile was somewhat forced: "Your Majesty, regarding the dress..."

"Okay, the time is almost up, let's get ready to go." Emperor Jing of Wei's eyes fell on Su Chenyu. In a trance, he seemed to see Li Rongzhen, with mixed feelings in his heart. She and Li Rongzhen were becoming more and more similar.

When Su Chenyu saw Emperor Jing of Wei coming, she just bowed and greeted him.

It takes about an hour to get from the Imperial Palace to the Huguo Temple, and the guard of honor is a kilometer long.

㱗At the front were naturally the royal family members, riding in chariots, and at the back were horse-drawn carriages and sedan chairs.

Wherever the guard of honor passed, the people knelt down and kowtowed, not daring to offend.

The Huguo Temple was at the top of the mountain. When the honor guard reached halfway up the mountain, the sky was covered with dark clouds. The convoy sped up, hoping to reach the Huguo Temple before it rained.

Su Chenyu looked outside through the curtain of the carriage. For some reason, she felt a sense of crisis.

The mountain seemed to be shaking. Su Chenyu looked up and saw rocks falling from above.

The soldiers escorting the convoy immediately noticed it and said, "Stop! There are rocks falling from the mountain."

Su Chenyu immediately got out of the carriage. She pushed Yanyu and Aunt Xu to the side of Yinxing and Wutong and said, "Find a place to hide."

"Princess, where are you going?" Nanny Xu wanted to catch up, but Su Chenyu disappeared in the blink of an eye.

More and more rocks were falling from the mountain. Wutong and Ginkgo hurriedly pulled Aunt Xu and Yanyu to the side to take shelter.

The horses were frightened and dragged the carriage away wildly. Many guards could only run to save people. The scene was chaotic for a while and screams were heard continuously.

Su Chenyu went straight to Baili Yanqing's carriage. Zhu Yi knew that his master had difficulty moving, so he stood outside to protect the carriage from being hit by stones.

When Su Chenyu came over, she saw a big rock hitting Zhu Yi. She drew out the sword of the guard next to her, rushed forward and stabbed the big rock into pieces, breaking it into countless small pieces, which hit Zhu Yi's face and caused pain.

After saving Zhu Yi, Su Chenyu jumped directly onto the carriage. Seeing that Baili Yanqing was safe and sound inside, she breathed a sigh of relief: "I'll take you down. It's not safe here."

As she said that, she grabbed Baili Yanqing's hand and carried him out of the car.

Baili Yanqing was stunned for a moment, then he saw a concave mountain wall: "Go hide there."

Su Chenyu rushed over holding Baili Yanqing, and Zhu Yi followed all the way. The three of them hid under the mountain wall and finally had time to catch their breath.

"Is this a landslide?" Zhu Yi still couldn't believe it. Such a huge change happened in just a few short seconds.
