Chapter 29: Lian Qing's betrayal
The Huguo Temple covers a large area and cost a huge amount of money to build. It is also considered a landmark building in Dayu.
But when the thunder struck, those once magnificent temples collapsed into ruins, revealing countless corpses underneath. Only then did everyone realize that beneath the bright and beautiful surface lurked the smell of decay.
Emperor Jing of Wei looked at the corpses scattered throughout the deep pit, his eyes filled with anger. He was not sad for the deaths of these people, but was angry that the current situation could not be resolved.
"Now it seems that the so-called heavenly punishment is God's warning to the countless corpses hidden under the Huguo Temple." Princess Xin looked at the corpses with a sad face, "What a disaster star, it's just a lie made up by some people to hide their sins. What's funny is that so many people just believed it and asked for the death of Fengyi Master."
Believing in the princess' words, the ministers felt so hot on their faces that they couldn't even raise their heads.
"Your Majesty, I have checked these bodies. The most recent one died in the past two days, and the oldest one is estimated to be more than ten years old."
After listening to the guards' report, Emperor Jing of Wei asked, "Where is Jiming?"
As the person in charge of Huguo Temple, how could Jiming not know all this?
Su Chenyu brought Jiming over. Looking at the corpse in front of them, there was no trace of sympathy in Jiming's eyes.
"Master, it is said that monks are compassionate, but I don't see a single trace of compassion in you." Su Chenyu asked, "Are you really a monk?"
Ji Ming still looked indifferent: "When a person dies, it's like a light goes out. What's the point of showing mercy? The most important thing now is to find out the truth."
Emperor Jing of Wei looked at Ji Ming and said, "It is said that the master is the best at fortune-telling. I wonder if you can figure out who did this?"
Jiming did not answer, so the queen said, "Your Majesty, this incident has nothing to do with Master Jiming. Someone must have done it to frame him."
The Queen's eyes fell on Su Chenyu, and her meaning was very clear: "Master Jiming just said that you are a disaster star, and in the blink of an eye, the Huguo Temple appeared. Did you frame the master?"
Su Chenyu drew out the general's sword and stabbed the queen with it. The sword glowed white. The queen saw the murderous intent in Su Chenyu's eyes and subconsciously stepped back and fell to the ground, splashing mud and water all over her body. She did not dare to step forward to hold an umbrella for her, like a stray dog.
Su Chenyu's sword stopped just between the queen's eyebrows: "This sword has been with me for decades, and I have killed countless enemy soldiers and treacherous villains. Today, it is not impossible for me to take your soul with this sword."
The queen's voice was trembling, but she still said stubbornly: "The concubine is the queen. You dare to kill the concubine. It is against the will of heaven."
"Lian, as the queen of a country, you do not value the lives of the people. Instead, you believe in a monk who is full of lies. You do not seek the truth and do not distinguish right from wrong. This is your first sin.
As a mother, you should love all the princes and princesses, but you are only partial to your own children. When they happened, you were the first one to suspect me. You have evil intentions towards your father's children. This is your first crime.
As the Empress of the Central Palace, it is your duty to share the worries of your father, but you caused strife in the harem, making the women of all families laugh at the royal family. You are not worthy of being an empress. This is your third crime.
Of the three crimes, which one of them is an injustice to you? You are not worthy of being a queen, not worthy of being a mother. A queen like you is the real calamity of Dayu! Today, even if I kill you, who dares to disobey?"
Every word was brilliant and no one dared to refute Su Chenyu's words.
