Princess Ziyan smiled slightly, looked at Jiang Huaiyu, and said, "That's right, I do have a condition. If you can agree to it, then I am willing to do my best to help you."
Jiang Huaiyu frowned, looking at Princess Ziyan and secretly considering her conditions. He said, "Please speak, Princess."
Princess Ziyan smiled slightly, looked at Jiang Huaiyu, and said, "This princess wants the jade pendant in your hand."
Jiang Huaiyu was taken aback. He looked at Princess Ziyan, puzzled. That jade pendant was a token of love between him and Bai Yujing. Why would the princess have taken a liking to it?
“Princess, that jade pendant is a token of love between Huaiyu and Bai Yujing, and it has extraordinary significance,” Jiang Huaiyu said in a deep voice.
Princess Ziyan smiled and looked at Jiang Huaiyu, saying, "I naturally know its significance. However, I am not trying to steal your token, but rather I hope you can lend it to me for a period of time."
Jiang Huaiyu looked at Princess Ziyan with suspicion, wondering what her intentions were.
Princess Ziyan noticed Jiang Huaiyu's confusion. She smiled and said, "I have a favor to ask, and I hope you will agree. If you lend me the jade pendant, I am willing to provide you with a huge fortune."
Jiang Huaiyu's heart stirred. He looked at Princess Ziyan and asked, "Princess, what exactly is your purpose?"
Princess Ziyan smiled, looked at Jiang Huaiyu, and said, "My purpose is to help you."
Jiang Huaiyu frowned, looking at Princess Ziyan, silently trying to figure out her intentions. He said, "Princess, Huaiyu is extremely grateful. But Huaiyu wants to know, why did you help Huaiyu?"
Princess Ziyan smiled and looked at Jiang Huaiyu, saying, "What I value most about you and Bai Yujing is your unity as a couple. I believe that you can use this wealth wisely and benefit the people."
Jiang Huaiyu was filled with emotion after hearing Princess Ziyan's words.
Princess Ziyan's words were not unfounded; her help was of great significance to him and Bai Yujing.
“Princess, Huaiyu is willing to lend you the jade pendant,” Jiang Huaiyu said in a deep voice.
Princess Ziyan smiled slightly, looked at Jiang Huaiyu, and said, "Alright, I look forward to your good news."
Princess Ziyan looked at Jiang Huaiyu, secretly relieved. She believed her decision was correct. She looked at Jiang Huaiyu and said, "Jiang Huaiyu, I look forward to your good news."
Jiang Huaiyu smiled slightly, looked at Princess Ziyan, and said, "Princess, rest assured, Huaiyu will not let you down."
Princess Ziyan looked at Jiang Huaiyu, shrugged, and frankly said, "Madam Jiang, I do have a request of you. I have come here today to ask you to give Baiyujing to me."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Huaiyu's expression instantly turned solemn. She gazed quietly at Princess Ziyan, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes, before slowly speaking, "Princess, you should know that my feelings for Yujing are extraordinary. He is the love of my heart, and I will never give him to anyone else."
Upon hearing this, Princess Ziyan frowned slightly. She hadn't expected Jiang Huaiyu to refuse her request so directly. She smiled gently, trying to persuade Jiang Huaiyu in a soft tone: "Madam Jiang, I know you and Bai Yujing have a deep relationship, but my love for Bai Yujing is no less than yours. As long as you agree to my request, I am willing to provide you with any help."
Jiang Huaiyu shook her head, her expression resolute: "Princess, love is selfish, and I cannot bear to give up the person I love. No matter what conditions you propose, they cannot change my decision."
Princess Ziyan's face gradually darkened. She slammed her hand on the table and said angrily, "Jiang Huaiyu, are you talking back to the princess? Do you know what consequences your actions will bring?"
Jiang Huaiyu raised her head, looked directly into Princess Ziyan's eyes, and said firmly, "Princess, I did not mean to offend you, but I really cannot grant your request. I am willing to bear all the consequences."
Princess Ziyan's eyes widened as she glared at Jiang Huaiyu: "Jiang Huaiyu, are you forcing me?"
Jiang Huaiyu smiled slightly, her expression calm: "Princess, I did not mean that. I just hope you can understand my position."
The atmosphere inside the room grew tense. Princess Ziyan's face grew increasingly grim; she glared at Jiang Huaiyu, a fierce glint in her eyes. Suddenly, she stood up, pointed at Jiang Huaiyu, and said, "Jiang Huaiyu, how dare you refuse my request! Since that's the case, I'll show you what I'm capable of."
With that, Princess Ziyan turned and left, leaving Jiang Huaiyu sitting alone.
Upon seeing this, Bai Yujing immediately stepped in front of Jiang Huaiyu, glaring angrily at Princess Ziyan, and rebuked her, "Princess Ziyan, what is the meaning of this? You have trespassed into a private residence without invitation and destroyed my home. Do you know how serious this crime is?"
Princess Ziyan sneered, glancing arrogantly at Bai Yujing, and said, "Bai Yujing, don't you understand? I'm here today to teach you a lesson and show you what it means to respect the difference between superiors and inferiors."
Bai Yujing's anger intensified. He clenched his fists, barely suppressing his rage, and said, "Princess Ziyan, as a royal princess, do you not know the suffering of the common people? Although my Bai family is not a prominent family, we are still a respectable one. Your actions make the world laugh at our royal family for having no one to serve us?"
Princess Ziyan smiled disdainfully and said, "So what if it's a joke? Today I'm going to show you who the real master of this capital is. Bai Yujing, if you know what's good for you, get out of my way, or don't blame me for being impolite."
A resolute glint flashed in Bai Yujing's eyes. He knew that today's events could not be resolved peacefully. He straightened his back and said loudly, "Princess Ziyan, although I, Bai Yujing, am no hero, I will never submit to your tyranny. If you want to destroy my home, you will have to step over my dead body first."
Princess Ziyan's face darkened, and a hint of murderous intent flashed in her eyes. She said coldly, "Bai Yujing, do you really think this princess wouldn't dare to kill you? If you don't step aside, don't blame this princess for not showing any mercy."
Bai Yujing gritted her teeth, her worries growing stronger.
Princess Ziyan is ruthless; if a fight were to break out, he might not be able to defeat her. But he could not back down; behind him were his wife and home, and he could not let them be harmed.
Just then, Princess Ziyan suddenly raised her voice and threatened, "Bai Yujing, if you don't move aside, I will take action against the rest of your Bai family. Especially your nephews and nieces, aren't you afraid they will suffer some misfortune?"
Bai Yujing's body stiffened instantly, and terror flashed in his eyes. He hadn't expected Princess Ziyan to threaten him with his family. He clenched his teeth, trying to calm himself down.
“Princess Ziyan, you promised me you wouldn’t harm innocent people. Have you forgotten your promise?” Bai Yujing asked, her voice trembling.
Princess Ziyan looked at him mockingly and said, "A promise? When did I ever make a promise to you? Bai Yujing, you are truly delusional. If you don't step aside today, I will show you what it means to regret it too late."
