Chapter 136 Never Compromise

Princess Ziyan noticed the hatred in Bai Yujing's eyes and her heart skipped a beat, but she still snorted coldly and signaled her subordinates to release Bai Yujing. Once free, Bai Yujing rushed to Jiang Huaiyu, patting her back to help her catch her breath while anxiously asking, "Huaiyu, what's wrong? Tell me, where does it hurt?"

Jiang Huaiyu struggled to open her eyes, looked at Bai Yujing, and forced a smile: "Yujing, I'm fine, it's just that my chest suddenly hurts terribly. Don't worry."

A hint of doubt flashed in Bai Yujing's eyes. Looking at Jiang Huaiyu's pale face, his worry grew. He turned to pour tea, but was stopped by Princess Ziyan: "Bai Yujing, aren't you going to thank me? If I hadn't asked you to take care of Jiang Huaiyu, she would probably be dead by now."

Bai Yujing glanced back at Princess Ziyan, her eyes filled with gratitude, but her tone remained cold: "Princess, Yujing is extremely grateful. But please allow me to take care of Huaiyu first."

Princess Ziyan smiled slightly and said nothing more. Bai Yujing quickly poured a cup of tea and carefully fed it to Jiang Huaiyu. However, Jiang Huaiyu's condition did not improve. She struggled to drink a few sips of tea, but it did not relieve the pain in her chest.

Bai Yujing was sweating profusely with anxiety. Seeing Jiang Huaiyu's pained expression, he grew even more worried. He said to Princess Ziyan, "Princess, Huaiyu's condition is serious. Please allow me to summon a physician."

Princess Ziyan nodded slightly and sent someone to fetch a physician. Bai Yujing stayed by Jiang Huaiyu's side, constantly comforting her: "Huaiyu, you must hold on. I will do everything in my power to save you."

Jiang Huaiyu looked at Bai Yujing, her eyes filled with gratitude and love. Her lips moved slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end, no sound came out. She held Bai Yujing's hand tightly and said with all her might, "Yujing, I know you have always sacrificed for me, but... I don't want you to get hurt because of me."

Bai Yujing felt a pang of pain in his heart. He held Jiang Huaiyu's hand tightly and said firmly, "Huaiyu, no matter what happens, I will protect you forever."

At this moment, the physician rushed over and examined Jiang Huaiyu. Bai Yujing watched the physician nervously, silently praying. The physician pondered for a moment, then said to Bai Yujing, "Young Master Bai, Miss Jiang's condition is indeed serious, but the toxins in her body are unusual. I need some special medicinal herbs to save her."

Bai Yujing immediately nodded, indicating her willingness to spare no expense. Princess Ziyan also stated that she would do her utmost to assist in finding the medicinal herbs.

With everyone's combined efforts, the necessary medicinal herbs were finally found. The physician treated Jiang Huaiyu, while Bai Yujing stayed by her bedside, never leaving her side.

After several days of treatment, Jiang Huaiyu's condition gradually improved. She looked at Bai Yujing with gratitude, her eyes filled with love. Bai Yujing was also deeply moved; he knew that it was Princess Ziyan's kindness that had allowed them to overcome their difficulties.

Azi frowned, her face flushed with anger. She glanced at Bai Yujing, then turned to Jiang Huaiyu and said coldly, "Bai Yujing, you're really going too far. You dare to treat the princess like this for this woman."

A cold glint flashed in Bai Yujing's eyes. He stared intently at Azi and said firmly, "Azi, if you dare to insult my wife again, don't blame me for being impolite."

Azi smiled disdainfully and whispered a few words in Princess Ziyan's ear. Princess Ziyan's face instantly turned pale, her body trembled slightly, and she suddenly stood up. Jiang Huaiyu angrily rebuked her, "Jiang Huaiyu, how dare you seduce Bai Yujing! You are shameless!"

Jiang Huaiyu's face also turned pale. She bit her lip tightly, her eyes glistening with tears, but she remained silent.

Bai Yujing immediately stepped in front of Jiang Huaiyu, staring intently at Princess Yan, and warned, "Princess Ziyan, if you dare to bully my wife again, I will protect her at all costs."

Princess Ziyan's maid, Azi, watched this scene with a cold smile. She gently patted Princess Ziyan's shoulder and whispered, "Princess, Bai Yujing has already warned you. You must be careful."

Princess Ziyan's face grew increasingly grim. She glared at Bai Yujing and said angrily, "Bai Yujing, who do you think you are? You're just a nobody from the Bai family, yet you dare to be so insolent!"

Bai Yujing sneered and said, "Princess Ziyan, if you think the Bai family has no one to rely on, you are sorely mistaken. Although I, Bai Yujing, am only a member of the Bai family, I will never allow my wife to be bullied in any way."

Upon hearing this, Princess Ziyan's face turned even more ashen. She glared at Bai Yujing and said through gritted teeth, "Fine, Bai Yujing, you've got guts!"

Seeing this, Azi quickly helped Princess Ziyan up and advised, "Princess, let's go back first and not get angry with them anymore."

Princess Ziyan glared at Azi, snorted, and turned to leave. Azi looked at Bai Yujing and Jiang Huaiyu with worry, and sighed inwardly.

Bai Yujing watched Princess Ziyan's departing figure, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes. He turned back to look at Jiang Huaiyu, gently patted her shoulder, and said softly, "Yu'er, don't be afraid, I will protect you."

Jiang Huaiyu raised her head, her eyes glistening with grateful tears. She softly hummed in agreement and gently grasped Bai Yujing's hand.

Seeing this scene, Azi couldn't help but feel deeply moved.

Hong scoffed and sneered, saying, "Bai Yujing, you're such a coward! How dare you threaten the princess? Are you courting death?"

Bai Yujing's gaze was firm, a resolute glint in his eyes. He glanced coldly at Ah Hong and said, "Ah Hong, you're wrong. Although I, Bai Yujing, am not a hero, there are some things I will never compromise on."

Princess Ziyan frowned. She hadn't expected Bai Yujing to dare to talk back to Ah Hong like that. Her eyes widened as she looked at Bai Yujing, her voice filled with surprise: "Bai Yujing, are you only saying this because you've been pushed to the limit? You really don't want to marry me?"

Bai Yujing raised his head and looked at Princess Ziyan with a firm gaze: "Princess, although I, Bai Yujing, come from the Bai family, I am not a sycophant. No one can take away my beliefs. I truly do not wish to marry you."

Princess Ziyan's expression changed, and she sneered, "Fine, Bai Yujing, you've really impressed me. Since you're so determined, I'll show you whether you have the right to refuse me."

Ah Hong stood to the side, a mocking smile on her lips, looking at Bai Yujing, and said, "Bai Yujing, what right do you think you have to refuse the princess? Don't forget, you are just a commoner, while the princess is of noble status. How dare you be so presumptuous? You're courting death."

Bai Yujing looked at Ah Hong with cold eyes: "Ah Hong, you are just a maid, how dare you be so arrogant in front of me? If you really think that the princess will take action for you, then you are very wrong."

Ah Hong's face turned pale, and she said angrily, "Bai Yujing, how dare you insult me? Although I, Ah Hong, am a maid, I am not someone you can insult at will. Today, I will make sure the princess teaches you a lesson."
