Chapter 137 I'm a little tired

Princess Ziyan looked coldly at Bai Yujing and said, "Bai Yujing, since you are so determined, then I will grant your wish. From this day forward, if you do not marry me, I will never let your family and your wife Jiang Huaiyu go."

Bai Yujing's eyes narrowed. He knew that Princess Ziyan was not joking, but he still said firmly, "Princess, your threats are useless. I, Bai Yujing, would rather die than submit to you."

Princess Ziyan's eyes turned cold. She had never encountered such a resolute rejection before. She glared at Bai Yujing and said, "Fine, Bai Yujing, you've got guts. I'll show you just how powerful I, Princess Ziyan, really am."

A hint of smugness flashed in Ah Hong's eyes. Princess Ziyan had made up her mind, and the Bai Yujing family was bound to suffer.

Princess Ziyan glanced at the pale-faced Jiang Huaiyu, then turned to look at the stubborn Bai Yujing, and said in a cold tone, "Bai Yujing, do you think all the threats I've made these past few days were just a joke?"

Bai Yujing's eyes were firm, showing no sign of backing down, as she replied, "Princess Ziyan, although my Bai family is not as prominent as yours, we are by no means a pushover. Jiang Huaiyu is my wife, and I will never let her suffer the slightest harm."

A flash of anger crossed Princess Ziyan's eyes as she sneered, "You really think you can protect her? I have a hundred ways to make Jiang Huaiyu wish she were dead, do you believe me?"

Bai Yujing clenched his fists, burning with rage, but forcibly suppressed his anger and said in a deep voice, "Princess Ziyan, if you dare to touch her in the slightest, I, Bai Yujing, will make you pay the price even if it costs me my life."

Seeing this, Jiang Huaiyu gently tugged at Bai Yujing's sleeve and whispered, "Yujing, don't be impulsive. We still have the law and justice; I believe they will give us justice."

Princess Ziyan laughed disdainfully: "Fairness? In this chaotic world, fairness is part of survival. Bai Yujing, do you think you can defeat me by relying on law and justice?"

Bai Yujing's eyes were resolute: "No matter how difficult it is, we must try. Huaiyu, don't worry, I won't let you face all of this alone."

A hint of gratitude flashed in Jiang Huaiyu's eyes. She held Bai Yujing's hand tightly and said softly, "Yujing, I know you will protect me. But I also want to face this with you. No matter life or death, we will be together."

Princess Ziyan watched them smile at each other, a pang of jealousy rising in her heart. She said coldly, "You two are disgusting. Bai Yujing, I'll give you one more chance. Give up Jiang Huaiyu, and I can give you a place in the court."

Bai Yujing laughed heartily: "Princess Ziyan, do you think I would betray my wife for power? I would rather give up everything than let her be harmed."

Princess Ziyan's face darkened, a ruthless glint flashing in her eyes: "Fine, Bai Yujing, you're really courting death. I'll show you a hundred ways to make Jiang Huaiyu wish she were dead."

Jiang Huaiyu's face was pale, but she still forced a smile and said, "Princess Ziyan, do you think you can scare us? We, husband and wife, are of one mind and our strength can break metal. Justice will ultimately prevail over evil."

Princess Ziyan's eyes widened, her anger burning: "You just wait, I'll make you wish you were dead."

Bai Yujing stood up, blocking Jiang Huaiyu's path, and said sternly, "Princess Ziyan, if you dare to lay a hand on me, I will never let you leave the Bai family. Huaiyu, you go back first, leave this to me."

Looking into Jiang Huaiyu's determined eyes and unyielding smile, Bai Yujing felt a warmth in his heart. He held her hand tightly, his eyes filled with resolve and determination.

“Huaiyu, with you by my side, I fear no difficulty,” Bai Yujing said softly.

Jiang Huaiyu smiled gently and replied, "Yujing, I know that as long as we hold hands, we can overcome any difficulty."

Just then, Princess Ziyan's appearance shattered the warmth of the moment. Her eyes were sharp, a cold smile playing on her lips as she looked at their tightly clasped hands, her gaze revealing jealousy and disdain.

"Hmph, Jiang Huaiyu, do you think you can be happy like this forever? Bai Yujing, in three days, you will find out that your so-called determination and optimism are nothing but a mirage." Princess Ziyan's tone was sharp, with a hint of mockery.

Bai Yujing frowned, a flash of anger crossing his eyes, but he quickly suppressed his emotions and calmly replied, "Princess Ziyan, we choose our own path. No matter the wind or the rain, we will walk hand in hand."

Princess Ziyan snorted coldly and turned to leave. Her retreating figure appeared lonely and resolute, leaving Jiang Huaiyu and Bai Yujing looking at each other in bewilderment.

Jiang Huaiyu leaned wearily on Bai Yujing's shoulder, her face pale, but her eyes still shone with determination. Bai Yujing's heart tightened, and she quickly supported her.

"Huaiyu, are you alright?" Bai Yujing asked worriedly.

Jiang Huaiyu smiled slightly and gently shook her head: "I'm fine, just a little tired. Yujing, don't worry about me."

Looking at her frail appearance, Bai Yujing felt a pang of guilt. He knew that Jiang Huaiyu was persisting for his sake, not wanting to burden him.

"Huaiyu, it's all my fault. I've made you suffer so much," Bai Yujing said in a heavy voice.

Jiang Huaiyu gently held his hand, her eyes filled with tenderness: "Yujing, don't say that. We are one. My pain is your pain, and my joy is your joy. As long as we are together, there is nothing we can't overcome."

A tear glistened in Bai Yujing's eyes. He hugged Jiang Huaiyu tightly, his emotions beyond words.

Just then, Deng Shen stumbled into the room, sobbing uncontrollably. He walked up to Jiang Huaiyu, knelt down with a thud, tears blurring his vision, his voice choked with sobs: "Miss, it was all my negligence that allowed Princess Ziyan to take advantage of you and cause you to be humiliated. I deserve to die."

Jiang Huaiyu looked at Deng Shen, a hint of helplessness flashing in her eyes. She sighed softly, helped Deng Shen up, and said gently, "Steward Deng, this is not your fault. It was Princess Ziyan who did it on purpose. Get up quickly, don't be sad."

Deng Shen wiped away his tears, stood up, and still had a hint of worry in his eyes: "Miss, you must take care of yourself and not let this upset you. I'll go and tidy up the room and boil some water so you can take a nice bath and relax."

Jiang Huaiyu smiled slightly and nodded: "Thank you for your trouble, Steward Deng. However, I am more worried about Bai Yujing now. Where is he now, and is he safe and sound?"

Deng Shen frowned and said, "Miss, the young master hasn't returned since his conflict with Princess Ziyan that day. I've sent people everywhere to inquire, but there's still no news. I'm worried about him..."

Jiang Huaiyu's face darkened, and a hint of worry flashed in his eyes: "Steward Deng, you must send more people. You must find Bai Yujing no matter what. If anything happens to him, how can I face him, how can I face myself?"

Deng Shen nodded in agreement: "Don't worry, Miss, I will do my best to find the young master."

As the two were talking, footsteps suddenly came from outside the door. A maid rushed in, carrying an envelope. She approached Jiang Huaiyu and respectfully handed her the envelope: "Miss, this was sent by the young master."
