The thought flashed through Ling Mo's mind, and he immediately coughed lightly and asked gently, "Where do you plan to go tonight? If you can't find a place to stay, you can rest at my humble abode for the time being."
Jiang Huaiyu gently shook his head and replied, "No need to trouble yourself. Han Yi Fang is my property, and it's not far ahead. We can settle down there."
Ling Mo was slightly surprised. "I remember that Luo Eryin, who was once very popular in the city, came from this Han Yi Fang. I didn't expect it to belong to you?"
Jiang Huaiyu smiled slightly and asked in return, "Is there something wrong with this?"
Ling Mo smiled and said, "Of course not. Now that you have found your own place, I'm relieved."
After they finished speaking, they arrived at the gate of Hanyifang and saw a carriage slowly driving towards them and stopping in front of them.
When the carriage came to a stop, an anxious face appeared in the window; it was Tu Wenying.
Upon seeing Jiang Huaiyu, her face immediately lit up with joy. She hurriedly jumped out of the car, ignoring the torrential rain outside, and carefully examined Jiang Huaiyu from head to toe before finally letting out a long sigh of relief.
"Sister Jiang, it's so good to know you're safe and sound!"
When Jiang Huaiyu saw her, he was so surprised that he was speechless for a moment. He asked blankly, "Wenying, what are you doing here?"
Tu Wenying held her hand tightly, "The rain is too heavy, let's get in the car and take shelter from the rain first."
Yuwei came down to help, and together with Yingxiang and Dengshen, they properly settled the luggage before the group boarded the carriage.
Ling Mo initially wanted to say goodbye first, but after hesitating for a moment, he finally got into the car with them.
The five people were gathered inside the carriage, making the space feel somewhat cramped. Deng Shen stayed outside the carriage with the driver.
When Tu Wenying saw Ling Mo, she was slightly taken aback and asked curiously, "Sister Jiang, who is this young master?"
Jiang Huaiyu's gaze swept between the two of them, and she couldn't help but laugh out loud. "You always talk about Young Master Ling, and you even used the excuse of learning painting from him to run away from home. How come you don't recognize him now that you've seen him in person?"
"Could the person before me be the renowned Young Master Ling?"
Tu Wenying froze for a moment, embarrassed. After a brief pause, she quickly blushed and bowed.
"I have long admired Young Master Ling's reputation. I, the daughter of the Tu family of Wanfu County, respectfully pay my respects."
Ling Mo nodded slightly in return, "Master Butcher, you flatter me."
Upon hearing this, Tu Wenying was momentarily taken aback. She was about to ask him how he knew her name when a thought struck her. She realized that Young Master Ling had come up the tower with Jiang Huaiyu, so the two must know each other. Perhaps Sister Jiang had mentioned her to him before. So she gave up the idea of asking.
Yuwei had already prepared dry handkerchiefs, which she handed to everyone one by one, asking them to wipe the water droplets from their faces.
Jiang Huaiyu put down the handkerchief in her hand before asking, "Wenying, you still haven't told me why you came to find me alone so late at night. Have you already heard the bad news about the inn burning down?"
Mentioning the fire at the inn, Tu Wenying's heart tightened, and her worry was evident in her words.
"Indeed, when the Tu family learned of this news, I was almost scared out of my wits, fearing that something might have happened to you, so I rushed here. Fortunately, you are safe and sound!"
Jiang Huaiyu pressed further: "So, someone from the Tu family has also been keeping an eye on what's happening at the inn?"
“That’s right.” Tu Wenying nodded.
Otherwise, how could she have learned of the inn's fire so quickly?
A warm feeling welled up in Jiang Huaiyu's heart, and she smiled and said, "Wenying, I am very grateful for your concern."
She never expected that she would receive so much care in this life after being lonely and miserable in her previous life.
She was overwhelmed with emotion and indescribable feelings, and felt incredibly content.
Although she suffered some losses during her rebirth, fate was also kind to her, allowing her to meet these people who cared about her.
Tu Wenying held her hand tightly, blinked, and said softly, "Why be so polite in front of you?"
Jiang Huaiyu responded with a warm smile.
Tu Wenying added, "By the way, I came here tonight not just to check on your safety. Since the inn is on fire and you are homeless, I came specifically to take you to the Tu family home for temporary accommodation."
Jiang Huaiyu was slightly taken aback, then shook his head and refused: "No need, Wenying, Hanyifang is not far ahead, we can settle down there temporarily."
Tu Wenying insisted on her opinion, "I know that Han Yi Fang is your property, but you once said that there is only one empty house there. How can the three of you live there? You should follow my arrangements and go to the Tu family together. Now that I have come in person, how can I let you return alone?"
Jiang Huaiyu remained hesitant, "Disturbing the Tu family so late at night is really..."
"Stop hesitating!" Tu Wenying interrupted her firmly.
Tu Wenying suddenly revealed, "There's something else I haven't mentioned. The order to monitor the inn was actually my grandfather's instruction. After his personal visit to the academy that day, I went to visit him that night. My grandfather earnestly told me that the inn was a mixed bag, and that you, alone, were not safe. He instructed me to take good care of you. So, I ordered people to secretly keep an eye on the inn. Who knew that in just a few days, an accident would actually happen? Fortunately, you are safe and sound. Otherwise, how could I explain this to your grandfather?"
“Before I left, I informed my grandfather that I planned to bring you to the Tu family for a temporary stay, and my grandfather agreed. Therefore, Sister Jiang, you don’t need to have any more doubts.”
In this situation, if Jiang Huaiyu still refuses, it seems too heartless.
"Alright, then I'll gladly accept your offer."
