Chapter 40 Snacks

The students were also touched by her calmness; although they remained in their seats, their eyes were all fixed on the rain outside.

After a long while, someone quietly made a sound.

"A strong wind does not last all morning, nor does a sudden rain last all day."

At first it was just one person's whisper, but as time went on, all the students spontaneously joined in the recitation, their voices linked together to form a unified reading sound.

As if to express their determination to the raging storm, the students' voices pierced through the rooftops and reached the heavens.

The sounds of wind, rain, and reading aloud intertwine to create a vivid scene.

Jiang Huaiyu wore a faint smile, neither stopping nor interrupting, letting the sound of reading in the rain echo in the school.

Before long, the torrential rain gradually subsided, and the sky slowly revealed its azure blue.

The children's voices gradually shifted from initial confusion to profound understanding.

Unexpectedly, the words in the textbook have come to life, and this is the scene that is presented before my eyes.

The raging winds cannot last forever, the torrential rain will eventually stop, and the hardships of life will also pass away.

The sky cleared up again, but the wind still carried the coolness of the rain.

After the children shouted in unison, their anxiety seemed to dissipate with the wind.

Jiang Huaiyu returned to her seat and said softly, "The sentence you just recited comes from the Tao Te Ching. Although I have never taught it to you, since you have already gained your own understanding, then today we will study this article..."

After a long while, Jiang Huaiyu finished teaching today, tidied up the teaching materials, and prepared to embark on her journey home.

As soon as she stepped out of the classroom, a large and slender hand reached out to her.

"Mr. Jiang, I've come to pick you up after class."

Before she even looked up, Jiang Huaiyu could feel the flutter in her heart from that familiar face, and her cheeks flushed slightly.

"The children are all here."

Bai Yujing's brows were full of smiles. "How could there be anything wrong with that?"

A ray of soft sunlight after the rain fell on his face, making him look even more handsome.

"Moreover, I also want to confirm whether you are troubled by these naughty children."

As Bai Yujing approached, Huiyi smiled broadly and stepped forward, saying in a light voice, "Uncle, you can rest assured. Auntie's hand moves like the wind, and when she hits someone, it hurts terribly. Everyone in the family is in awe of her. Who would dare to provoke her? Besides, with Huiyi and my brother here, we will definitely protect Auntie like a shield."

"What a thoughtful child." Bai Yujing gently patted her head, then asked with concern, "So, Huiyi, have you ever been punished by her?"

Huiyi playfully stuck out her tongue and honestly answered, "Yes."

In the private school, Jiang Huaiyu always adhered to the principle of treating every student fairly.

Bai Yujing gave a doting smile and said gently, "Let's go, I've prepared some snacks that I've carefully selected for you at home."

"Uncle, you're so kind!" Feng Yun and Hui Yi immediately understood his intention and ran ahead hand in hand happily.

Bai Yujing turned to look at his wife, "We should go back to the manor now."

Jiang Huaiyu composed herself, her emotions slightly stirred by the conversation, and smiled gently.

On the way home, she asked curiously, "Husband, how long have you been here?"

"I was already outside the mansion when the rain just started," Bai Yujing replied casually.

Jiang Huaiyu looked up in surprise and asked, puzzled, "Then why didn't you call me?"

Bai Yujing smiled gently and said, "How could I bear to disturb your lesson, madam? I'll just watch you quietly from around the corner."

A feeling that was hard to describe as either sweet or worrying welled up inside Jiang Huaiyu.

She said with a hint of reproach, "My husband really doesn't need to be so considerate. The summer is hot and the weather is unpredictable. It would be terrible if you got heatstroke or caught in the rain because of me!"

Bai Yujing did not respond to her words, but simply said softly, "Madam, you have indeed taught them exceptionally well."

Looking back at the scene just now, with the wind and rain intertwined with the sound of reading aloud, a warm current welled up in his heart. His gaze fell on Jiang Huaiyu, and he felt even more tender and affectionate.

"If I hadn't come in person, how could I have witnessed that breathtaking scene?"

Jiang Huaiyu smiled gently and shook her head, saying, "My husband is always good at praising me with sweet words. I know my own worth in my heart."

How can you be sure that my praise wasn't heartfelt?

Jiang Huaiyu was unwilling to delve too deeply into the double meaning implied in those words, fearing that she might be indulging in wishful thinking.

She quickly changed the subject, asking softly, "Husband, how many days do you plan to stay now that you've returned?"

"We will need to set off in just a few days."

The two chatted for a while before arriving at their home.

Upon entering the room, Bai Yujing took out a stack of yellowed miscellaneous notes and a package wrapped in oil paper from his bosom and handed them to her.

"These are some miscellaneous stories I carefully selected from the bookstore. You can browse through them in your spare time to pass the time. And this is salted plum. I saw that the people in the city rave about them, so I bought you a bag when I passed by. Why don't you try some?"

Jiang Huaiyu couldn't help but smile: "These are snacks for the children. I'll call Fengyun and Huiyi over to enjoy them together."

Bai Yujing gently stopped her, saying, "They have other snacks of their own, but these are ones I specially picked out for you."

After speaking, a hint of doting light flashed in his eyes.
