Having spent half his life in the Marquis's mansion, Jiang Huaiyu quickly discerned the clues behind it after a moment's thought.
She stared intently into Xie Wenyin's eyes, her tone icy, "Did you drug him?"
A flicker of panic crossed Xie Wenying's eyes, but she quickly regained her composure and gently shook her head, "Second cousin-in-law, I don't know what you mean..."
Jiang Huaiyu pointed at Bai Yujing, "Then what exactly happened to him?"
"I really had no idea..."
Xie Wenying covered herself with her clothes, tears streaming down her face, overwhelmed with sorrow. "I had only come to offer my cousin Yujing a cup of tea when he suddenly grabbed me tightly and asked me to stay with him. And then... what you saw was just like that."
Her voice gradually lowered, choked with sobs, and carried a hint of helplessness and sorrow.
Having grasped the crux of the matter, Jiang Huaiyu quickly regained her composure.
Her expression held a subtle hint of sarcasm: "Tell me, how could someone who has lost all feeling do such frivolous things to you?"
Xie Wenyin felt as flustered as an ant on a hot pan.
The event had barely begun; she hadn't even had time to take off her clothes when they suddenly burst in.
However, she had no way out and could only firmly insist that she had nothing to do with the matter.
"Why is Second Cousin-in-law so forceful? How would I know? Perhaps Cousin Yujing... he's just pretending!"
Hearing this from the side, Yang was getting increasingly agitated. Finally, she couldn't hold back any longer. She rushed forward, grabbed Xie Wenyin from Bai Yujing's lap, roughly put clothes on her, and covered Bai Yujing's bare upper body.
She finally spoke, saying, "Wenyin, I originally thought you were a reasonable person, but I never expected you to do such a disgraceful thing. Do you think we're all blind? You say your brother is faking it, so why don't you try to wake him up?"
"he……"
Xie Wenyin was speechless, her face a mixture of shame and fear.
"How could I, a pure and innocent young woman, do such a lewd thing? This is clearly my cousin Yujing's fault!"
With things having come to this point, she simply put aside all her concerns and decided to take a gamble.
"In any case, the facts are clear: you all witnessed me in a room with my cousin Yujing. He ruined my reputation, so he must take responsibility for me!"
Her eyes were wide open, her gaze sharp and intense, fixed on Jiang Huaiyu, revealing an indomitable and relentless determination.
At this moment, Jiang Huaiyu had regained her composure. She ignored Xie Wenyin and turned to Yang Shi, saying, "Sister-in-law, you keep an eye on her for now. I'll go to town to fetch a doctor. Once my husband wakes up, the truth will come out. As for how to handle this matter, we'll discuss it together when my mother-in-law returns."
Ms. Yang nodded in agreement, "Alright, I'll take care of this."
After Jiang Huaiyu left, Madam Yang stared at Xie Wenyin with sharp eyes and said in a heavy tone, "Wenyin, Wenyin, you are truly muddle-headed!"
Xie Wenyin wiped away her tears while straightening her clothes, sobbing as she said, "Sister-in-law, you know perfectly well how I feel about Cousin Yujing."
Yang was taken aback and asked in confusion, "But I thought that after my cousin got married, you would have given up on this idea."
Xie Wenyin gave a sad smile.
“From a young age, I have been determined to marry my cousin Yujing, and this determination has never wavered.”
Madam Yang sighed deeply and said earnestly, "But he has already married a wife through proper channels. What advantage will you gain by acting this way?"
A resolute glint flashed in Xie Wenying's eyes as she said decisively, "I am willing to become Cousin Yujing's concubine and spend the rest of my life with him."
"A concubine?"
Madam Yang frowned slightly, her tone carrying a hint of incomprehension and reproach, "How could such a pure girl like you have such a ridiculous idea?"
"Your younger brother and sister-in-law are newlyweds, how could they possibly agree to this? Besides, how could Mother bear to let you suffer such injustice?"
Xie Wenyin gently shook her head, her eyes revealing determination and persistence, "As long as I can spend this life with my cousin Yujing, I don't feel wronged at all."
Yang looked at her as if she were a madwoman, utterly bewildered. She couldn't help but wonder what kind of strange ideas were going on in this girl's head.
Xie Wenyin noticed her gaze, and slightly curled the corner of her mouth, as if she was already used to other people's misunderstandings.
"My sister-in-law doesn't need to pity me. As long as my wish is fulfilled, other people's opinions are irrelevant to me."
Madam Yang let out a long sigh, her heart filled with helplessness and regret.
With tears welling in her eyes and her voice slightly hoarse, Xie Wenying said, "Sister-in-law, I am a lonely woman. For me, marrying my cousin Yujing, whom I grew up with, is the best possible outcome. He is kind-hearted and will surely never abandon me. And my aunt will not be harsh to me either."
She gently lifted her sleeve to wipe away the tears that had fallen, a bitter smile appearing on her lips.
"But if I marry someone else, my family will have already passed away, and who will stand up for me then?"
Seeing her expression, Madam Yang felt both sympathy and sadness.
Madam Yang handed her silk handkerchief to Xie Wenyin and said gently, "Haven't you noticed how much your aunt cares for you? She treats you like her own daughter. After all, your family members have passed away. Aren't we your blood relatives?"
Tears streamed down Xie Wenyin's face as she gently shook her head, her voice trembling: "But my heart is still filled with fear."
