Chapter 50 Regret

The man did not respond directly, but simply smiled and said, "I thought that in this situation, you should be afraid of me."

He really wanted to see such a delicate beauty begging him; that would excite him even more.

However, her stubbornness at this moment also had a unique charm.

As the man gazed at her icy expression, he wondered what kind of expression she would have when she pleaded beneath him.

“You should be the one feeling afraid. Do you really think that no one will come looking for me after I’ve been kidnapped for so long?”

A sly smile played on the man's lips as he arrogantly raised an eyebrow. "Even so, so what? My place is remote, rarely visited. Even if they come looking for me, I will have already accomplished my goal and vanished without a trace. What can you do to me then?"

Jiang Huaiyu pursed her lips, took a deep breath, and said with an undeniable firmness, "I advise you to think twice before you act. Perhaps you are not facing someone you can easily provoke. Don't let a moment of impulsiveness lead to lifelong regret."

"If I hadn't kidnapped you, I would have truly regretted it!"

The man's eyes were like an eagle's, fixed on her. "I know where your confidence comes from. It's just because you're a private tutor with the old village chief's protection. But I'm not afraid of that old man. Once I've set my sights on a woman, I'm determined to have her!"

"My husband is a scholar who passed the imperial examination and is renowned for his talent."

“You’re just a mere scholar who passed the imperial examinations, not an official appointed by the court. Even the county magistrate treats me with great respect. What is your husband compared to me?”

Jiang Huaiyu sensed the arrogance in his tone, as if he had an invincible background.

She smiled slightly, a hint of disdain in her smile. "Young master only knows that my husband is a scholar who passed the imperial examination, but he does not know that his mentor is none other than Tu Jijiu, a renowned official in Cang County. As for me, although I am just a private tutor, my father is an important official in the imperial court, and my sister has married into the Jingyuan Marquis's mansion, becoming the noble wife of the heir."

"If you dare to lay a hand on me, you will be courting your own destruction."

Despite being bound, her aura was not to be underestimated.

Under her sharp gaze, the man couldn't help but feel a sense of fear.

After a moment of silence, he shook his head helplessly. "I don't believe it. If your family were really as prominent as you say, why would you lower yourself to marry into this remote place?"

Jiang Huaiyu gave a disdainful sneer and did not respond, as if his suspicions were absurd and laughable.

Seeing her remain calm and composed even in the face of imminent collapse, the man couldn't help but feel genuinely flustered.

Jiang Huaiyu said calmly, "If you let me leave now, I can pretend that nothing happened and only announce to the outside world that you invited me to exchange academic ideas."

The man opposite him showed a hint of hesitation.

Jiang Huaiyu was not impatient. She slowly moved back, leaning against the cold, hard wall, and simply closed her eyes to ponder, like a lotus flower standing proudly in the wind and rain.

The man's expression shifted between light and shadow, and a dangerous glint appeared in his small eyes.

"If you dare to deceive me, I will make sure you die."

Jiang Huaiyu still did not open her eyes, her tone filled with unyielding arrogance: "Why should I deceive you? This is not the first time you have kidnapped a woman, but do you think I would feel fear after you have abducted me today?"

She was indeed different; she was so quiet.

Apart from a slight panic when she was first captured, she remained silent throughout the journey, and even now, here, she showed no sign of panic.

If she wasn't a dullard, then she must have had such a strong foundation of confidence that people dared not act rashly against her.

But she was a private tutor, not a fool.

Could it be that what she said was true...?

Does she really have intricate connections with the Marquis's mansion?

Doubts arose in the man's mind, and after weighing the options repeatedly, he suddenly smiled.

"Master, please calm down. I was just joking. I will untie you right away."

Jiang Huaiyu scoffed dismissively, "At least you understand things."

Dealing with such people is more like a battle of wits. The more you beg for mercy out of fear, the more satisfied they become. But if you stand firm and refuse to yield, they will reassess whether it is worth the risk.

The man smiled ingratiatingly and immediately untied her ropes.

Jiang Huaiyu gently shook her aching wrist and ordered, "Send someone to lead the way and take me back."

The more confident she appeared, the more the man respected her, nodding and agreeing without hesitation.

As he watched Jiang Huaiyu about to step out of the room, his heart felt as if it were being gripped by iron claws, unwilling to give up this beautiful opportunity that was within his grasp.

He prided himself on being a seasoned connoisseur of romance, yet a beauty like Jiang Huaiyu was a rare find in his life.

Her departure was like a pearl thrown into an abyss, a truly regrettable loss.

A wicked thought arose in his mind, and he suddenly stepped forward, tightly grasped Jiang Huaiyu's slender wrist, and said in a hoarse voice, "I've changed my mind."

A wicked smile played on his lips.

"Though I die beneath the peony blossoms, I shall live a life of romance and pleasure even in death. Today, I will taste the sweetness of romance no matter what!"

Since being untied, Jiang Huaiyu had remained vigilant. Upon seeing this, she immediately and skillfully sidestepped to avoid his sudden attack.

The man's first attack failed, and he immediately pounced again, like a shadow. The difference in strength between the two was huge, and Jiang Huaiyu was eventually firmly controlled by him, falling into his arms.

Although Jiang Huaiyu was free to move, she clung tightly to the man's arm, clenched her teeth, and bit down hard.

The man was completely unprepared and almost screamed in pain, so he quickly let go.

"You despicable bitch!"

The man looked at the blood gushing from his wrist and a fierce glint flashed in his eyes.

"I don't believe you have any other tricks up your sleeve!"

He casually tore off a corner of his sleeve, hastily bandaged the wound, and then approached Jiang Huaiyu again.

Jiang Huaiyu was cornered against the wall, with no way out. She pretended to be helpless, her eyes revealing despair.

The man's eyes were bloodshot, and the pain in his wrist made his whole body tremble, but this pain seemed to stimulate him, making him even more fanatical.

"If you had submitted to me, you might have already gone home safely, but you stubbornly resisted!"

The man's face was as gloomy as the sky before a storm, his voice cold and cruel, "My greatest love in life is beautiful women, and all I desire is a night of passion. You not only threatened me, but you dared to hurt me. Today, I will make you truly understand what it means to regret it!"

"In this secluded mountain villa, no matter how prominent your status, you cannot step out of the boundaries I have set."

A ferocious murderous intent flashed in the man's eyes. He grabbed Jiang Huaiyu, swung his arm, and slapped her twice hard across the face.

Jiang Huaiyu suffered a severe injury. Stars flashed before his eyes, his ears were ringing, and his body swayed precariously, barely able to stand.

He slammed her against the wall. "Now do you know fear? Too bad, it's too late!"

He leaned close to Jiang Huaiyu's neck and took a deep breath. The fresh fragrance made him fall into an intoxicating state.
