Chapter 27: The Green Tea Cousin Appears!

Chen Xiaoran coughed twice: "I was so good at being a waiter that I was just promoted to boss."

Xiao Tuantuan looked at Chen Xiaoran strangely: "Uncle, I'm five years old."

"So?" Chen Xiaoran asked, somewhat puzzled, as he carried Xiao Tuantuan to the backyard.

"So, you can't fool me with what you say to a three-year-old."

Xiao Tuantuan said in a childish voice, her little face full of helplessness.

Chen Xiaoran was taken aback, then chuckled softly.

Once inside the room, Chen Xingfeng asked, "Father, what exactly happened? Aren't you a waiter at Erdong Restaurant?"

Chen Xiaoran handed the snacks to the three of them, smoothed out his sleeves, and said slowly, "Well, since the owner is no longer making them, I'll take over."

“But, so much silver…” Chen Xingfeng was stunned.

Chen Lingfeng's eyes lit up: "Then, when we come to the restaurant to eat in the future, will we not have to pay?"

Chen Xiaoran found it amusing, but nodded nonetheless: "Of course."

"As for the money, it was borrowed." Chen Xiaoran pursed his lips and said slowly, "Xingfeng, this money is too much. Father will pay it back slowly, so your monthly allowance will have to be reduced."

A determined look appeared on Chen Xingfeng's face: "Father, it's alright, I don't need the money."

"Uncle, I don't need it either."

"I don't need it either!"

Chen Lingfeng and Xiao Tuantuan quickly said.

“They’re all good kids, but please don’t let this get out. We just need to know,” Chen Xiaoran said slowly. “If it gets to your grandmother’s ears, she’ll probably worry.”

Chen Xingfeng and Chen Lingfeng nodded quickly.

Xiao Tuantuan frowned and thought for a moment before agreeing.

Xiao Tuantuan died at the age of fifteen in her previous life, but because she grew up in Xiao Family Village, she had little experience. If it weren't for the spoon that gave her storybooks to read, she probably would have believed that Chen Xiaoran was a waiter.

So even though she didn't think her family was short of money, considering that they lived in a village, they couldn't afford the entire restaurant even if they had the money, she believed Chen Xiaoran's words.

He secretly thought to himself that he needed to earn more money to pay off his uncle's debts.

Chen Xiaoran didn't want to waste any more time on this matter, so he quickly changed the subject: "Tuantuan is going to the Liu family?"

Xiao Tuantuan nodded: "Yuanyuan invited me to her house as a guest, along with Weiwei and Linlin."

Hearing this, Chen Xiaoran laughed: "It seems that Tuantuan has made a lot of good friends at school. Your uncle will have someone send you there."

"No need, Uncle, Weiwei will come to pick me up later."

No sooner had the words been spoken than the shopkeeper came over: "Master, Miss Han, the daughter of the prefect, has arrived."

"Uncle! I'm leaving now!" Xiao Tuantuan's eyes lit up, and she quickly ran out.

Inside the carriage, Han Weiwei chattered incessantly: "Is your uncle a waiter at this Erdong Restaurant? That's great! Erdong Restaurant has a lot of delicious food, but you have to book half a month in advance, it's so popular!"

"Is Erdong Restaurant always this popular?" Xiao Tuantuan asked curiously.

“Of course!” Han Weiwei lifted the curtain, glanced outside, and said slowly, “Ever since I was born, Erdong Restaurant has been doing exceptionally well.”

"If it's so good, why change employers?" Xiao Tuantuan muttered to herself, without giving it much thought.

Soon, they arrived at the gate of the Liu family's house.

Although the Liu family's mansion was not as large as the prefect's, it was still quite spacious, and the He family lived next door to the Liu family.

He Lin had been waiting for a long time. When she saw the two of them, she quickly came over and said, "Let's go in."

Upon hearing that the prefect's eldest daughter was coming to visit, the Han family naturally welcomed her with open arms.

He Lin, having watched her grow up since childhood, was particularly familiar with her.

As for Xiao Tuantuan, Madam Liu didn't take it seriously when she heard that she was a child from the village.

When I saw Xiao Tuantuan, I couldn't help but think to myself: She's so pretty! She'll probably grow up to be a beauty!

"Mom, this is Tuantuan! She's a new friend I made at the academy!" Liu Yuanyuan was clearly very happy to see Xiao Tuantuan and introduced her to Madam Liu.

Madam Liu was quite plump, and at first glance, she seemed very easy to get along with.

Upon hearing Liu Yuanyuan's words, Madam Liu simply responded with a faint sound.

Disappointment flashed across Liu Yuanyuan's face. She forced a smile and said, "I'll take them to the backyard to admire the flowers."

“Yuanyuan, go and call your cousin out to chat too. You’re about the same age, so you should have a lot to talk about,” Madam Liu said with a smile. “Miss Han was also on good terms with Li’er before. There might be some misunderstanding between them. It would be good to clear things up today.”

"Heh." Han Weiwei sneered twice. "Mrs. Liu, I'm only allowed into your house today because of Yuanyuan. If you're going to send any Tom, Dick, or Harry to me, then I'll be leaving now!"

As she spoke, Han Weiwei stood up.

A hint of anger flashed in Madam Liu's eyes, but she still smiled and said apologetically, "Look at what Miss Han is saying. Li'er is the most sensible and considerate, no less so than Yuanyuan. I just wanted to clear up the misunderstanding between you."

"Yuanyuan, what do you think?"

Madam Liu's eyes were full of warning as she looked at Liu Yuanyuan.

“Aunt Liu!” He Lin stood up, his brows furrowed. “We’re here to see Yuanyuan.”

Upon hearing this, Madam Liu chuckled: "Whether it's Yuanyuan or Li'er, what's wrong with you two playing together?"

"Aunt." A soft, weak voice came from over there. Everyone looked over and saw a woman wearing a blue dress and with a long braid walking over.

Her waist was as slender as a willow swaying in the breeze, and her oval face had a pair of bright, watery eyes that instantly evoked feelings of pity in anyone who saw her.

"Aunt, please don't make things difficult for my sister because of me." Sun Xiaoli's face showed sadness and grievance.

Upon seeing Sun Xiaoli's appearance, Liu Yuanyuan's face immediately showed a look of vigilance: "Weiwei, Linlin, Tuantuan, I'll take you to the back garden."

"Why is my sister so unwilling to talk to me? I don't know what I did to offend her?" Sun Xiaoli said quickly, tears streaming down her face. "Sister, we are sisters after all. If I have done something wrong, please tell me and I will apologize."

"Liu Yuanyuan!" Madam Liu rushed over, wiped away Sun Xiaoli's tears, and then glared at Liu Yuanyuan. "What are you doing? Did you make your cousin cry again?"

"It's one thing for you to sow discord between Miss Han and your cousin, but now you're going to isolate your cousin by having them do the same?"

"How did I raise you? How could I have such a cruel daughter!"

Liu Yuanyuan's face turned pale, and she staggered back two steps.

That's it! That's it!

She didn't do anything! But whenever her cousin cries, all the blame falls on her!

Today, she even made such a fuss about her in front of her own friends. How is she supposed to get along with her in the future?

He Lin was used to it, his face full of annoyance, but his eyes were full of heartache as he looked at Liu Yuanyuan.

Han Weiwei's eyes widened in disbelief. Was Liu Yuanyuan really Mrs. Liu's biological daughter?

Xiao Tuantuan's anger was burning fiercely. When she looked up, she saw Sun Xiaoli hiding behind Madam Liu, looking smug.

"Sigh..." Xiao Tuantuan suppressed her anger and sighed helplessly.

This breath was particularly abrupt in the silent environment.

But then Xiao Tuantuan walked up to Liu Yuanyuan and said slowly, "Your cousin seems to be really sick."

The sudden remark startled everyone.

Liu Yuanyuan looked at Xiao Tuantuan with some confusion.

Xiao Tuantuan looked up at Madam Liu with her little face and asked, "Madam Liu, does Cousin Yuanyuan have a persecution complex? She always feels like everyone wants to harm her?"

Madam Liu frowned deeply: "What nonsense are you spouting?"

"If not, why did Yuanyuan's first words make it seem like Yuanyuan was bullying her?"

"If we weren't Yuanyuan's friends, we probably would never associate with her again."

"Cousin Yuanyuan doesn't like Yuanyuan, does she? Otherwise, why would she try to ruin Yuanyuan's reputation at any time?"
