Chapter 10
After the first half of the auction ended, Su He got up and went to the bathroom.
As a result, his poor sense of direction took effect and he got lost in this "jungle" of glass lamps.
Fortunately, the auction was paused at this moment, and the booth was transformed into a stage. Su He found his way back to the auction area with the help of the music on the stage.
Passing by the stage, his eyes lingered on it for a moment. The host was introducing the program slowly and leisurely. Su He was a little puzzled. It was obviously a charity event with the purpose of helping the recipients, so why did the recipients have to wear performance costumes and go on stage to dance for the audience?
He felt something was a little strange, but he couldn't tell what was strange.
However, Su He did not stay for long. He groped his way back along the signs on the wall. When he passed a private room, he saw a girl about ten years old standing in the busy corridor.
The girl was wearing what looked like a performance costume, with her little hands clutching the hem of her skirt, looking very nervous.
Su He stopped, fearing that a child had run away and lost contact with his parents, so he walked forward and squatted down.
He asked softly, "Sister, can't you find the way?"
The girl raised her eyes and looked at him, the tension and panic on her face remained unchanged. She didn't say anything, but just shook her head.
Perhaps because he was shy, Su He was about to slow down his voice before asking again, but the bodyguard standing with his hands behind his back at the door of the private room shouted to chase him away, telling him not to meddle in other people's business.
Su He stood there motionless, when he suddenly heard a rough shout coming from the private room. It was hard not to hear it.
"Don't waste time talking nonsense. Just tell me whether you brought it or not. Tell her to come over to me even if she doesn't want to!"
Su He looked through the crack in the open door. The man who was speaking was fat and big-eared, but he was well-dressed. Beside him stood several staff members in suits and ties, all of whom bowed their heads and listened to his orders.
"I spent all my money, how could it be wasted? Besides, there are no poor people anymore. They are the best at complaining without any reason. If they had worked hard, they wouldn't be so poor!"
"You're just looking forward to eating for free and waiting for me to donate money, but you don't want to do anything. Don't you think you're shameless?"
The manager in charge looked embarrassed, but could only agree: "Yes, yes, Master Sheng is right, the person has been brought here..."
Before he finished listening, he had already guessed most of it.
He turned around and looked at the stage, then at the girls in the corner. Most of the girls on the stage were about sixteen or seventeen years old, and the oldest one was probably only in college.
And the one in front of me seems to be smaller than the one on the stage.
He finally realized what was wrong with the performance. The youthful girls on the stage seemed to have turned from living people into dishes for people to choose from.
The auction is just a ticket to this buffet, and any powerful person who does not eat meat is a guest of honor who can order dishes.
So does everyone who comes to participate know this unspoken rule?
Do they all have the same purpose?
Could it be...Sheng Jinyu is also one of them?
Seeing that he didn't leave, the bodyguard came over and chased him away. Su He pretended to retreat and leave, but he had to calm the bodyguard down first so as not to alert the enemy.
When the girl saw him about to leave, she eagerly tried to pull at the corner of his clothes, but was scolded harshly by the bodyguard. The girl sobbed and retracted her hand.
Those timid eyes are really uncomfortable to look at.
Su He stretched his body and walked into the corridor around the corner, temporarily disappearing from the bodyguard's sight, and silence returned to the doorway.
A waiter happened to pass by, and he thought quickly. He raised his hand to call the waiter, told him the room number, told him that the distinguished guest inside had ordered some wine, and asked him to take someone to check it out.
The waiter did not suspect anything. After all, the private rooms on this floor were all occupied by VIP guests and they could not be neglected.
He quickly called a few people through the microphone and gathered them at the door of the private room. As expected, he was interrogated by the bodyguard.
While the bodyguard's attention was diverted, Su He stuck his head out and waved to the girl. The girl was smart and bent over and trotted towards him.
Fortunately, there were so many people walking in the corridor that they were not discovered.
But it was obvious that this plan could not last too long. Without thinking too much, Su He grabbed the girl's wrist and jogged into the depths of the corridor.
Soon, there was a commotion behind him and the sound of chasing footsteps.
Su He's heart tightened. They ran around several corners in a row. The girl's physical strength was obviously not as good as his, and she was already starting to pant.
He squatted down and said gently, "Brother, can I hold you?"
"Brother, have I caused you trouble?" the girl said with red eyes.
Su He felt a pang in his heart, and tried to smile gently: "No."
After saying that, he picked up the girl and continued forward, dealing with the pursuers in the winding corridors.
Su He was confused. He didn't dare to ask for help from the waiters passing by, fearing that the organizers were in cahoots with these people. But who else could he ask for help?
I can only leave here and call the police...
Just as Su He made this decision, the door in front suddenly opened, and someone walked out of the room while talking, and their eyes met Su He who was jogging in the corridor.
Su He stopped suddenly.
He met Sheng Jin's cold gaze.
Yan Yichen was not there. There was only him, Assistant Fang, and several security guards behind him.
Sheng Jinyu looked at Su He, who was sweating profusely from running, and then looked at the little girl sobbing silently in his arms. His brows furrowed slightly. "In such a short time, what trouble have you caused me?"
For some reason, Su He's tense nerves relaxed for a moment as if he had been saved.
The footsteps of the pursuers behind him were approaching.
He trotted over to Sheng Jinyu and said breathlessly, "Help her. The people here are doing bad business."
There was a hint of pleading between his brows, but Sheng Jinyu didn't say anything. Su He thought he didn't want to care, so he changed the subject and said, "Or... just pretend you didn't see us, okay?"
He really had no reason to ask Sheng Jinyu to help him even at the risk of getting into trouble, so he begged Sheng Jinyu to just do him a small favor and pretend not to see him.
Sheng Jinyu stared at Su He carefully, with a deep look in his eyes. He saw Su He's anxiety, and this concern and panic seemed to be sincere.
The chasing bodyguards shouted, and Su He was about to leave when Sheng Jinyu grabbed his arm.
The man who had just been speaking out in the private room came out from behind the bodyguards. His face, originally filled with rage, suddenly changed after he saw Sheng Jin and the others. He suppressed his anger and smiled maliciously, "Oh, so it's my cousin's men! Isn't this like a flood that has flooded the Dragon King Temple?"
The man paused and said tentatively, "If I had known that my cousin liked it too, I would have sent it to you directly."
Su He's body stiffened. Sheng Jin not only knew this person, but was also related to him!
He calmly moved a little further away from Sheng Jinyu, and his relaxed body tensed up again.
Sheng Jinyu keenly noticed this change, turned his head to look at him, and when he looked up again, his expression was a little more irritated.
"It's not too late to know now." Sheng Jin said to Sheng Zhilin.
He then gave Assistant Fang a look, who nodded and ordered the bodyguards to take the child away.
Su He didn't move, and he suddenly didn't dare to let go.
But Assistant Fang smiled at him kindly and said, "Mr. Su, you can rest assured and leave it to me."
After weighing it for a few times, Su He silently put the girl on the ground, but there was a bit more vigilance in his eyes when he looked at Sheng Jinyu.
After the farce ended, Sheng Zhilin did not leave. Instead, he came up and became friends with Sheng Jin.
Sheng Jin originally came here just to have a chat with his cousin Sheng Zhilin, but Su He ended up getting the upper hand by accident. He would not miss this opportunity.
Sheng Jinyu waved his hand and went into the private room with him without looking back.
Su He stood at the door and watched the two brothers disappear through the crack of the door, as if they were very familiar with each other.
His heart began to beat fast. Did he really make a wrong bet?
Is Sheng Jinyu really that kind of person?!
If he was really a playboy like Sheng Zhilin, Su He felt that there was no need to waste time with him any longer. There were wolves in front and tigers behind, and he would die if he advanced or retreated. He might as well run away as soon as possible!
But now he was in a dilemma. The original owner had fallen from power and could not find any help. The only thing he could do was to call the police and tell them that someone here was deliberately raping children and engaging in human trafficking.
When he was about to dial the number, Su He hesitated. He was not sure whether Sheng Jin was an accomplice.
The conversation in the room lasted for nearly a quarter of an hour. Su He stood at the door for a quarter of an hour. His mobile phone stayed on the dialing page, but he didn't dial out the simple three numbers.
It was not until Sheng Zhilin left that he glanced at him with an ambiguous look and then left in a swagger.
Sheng Jinyu followed closely behind him, lowered his head and asked him, "Why are you still standing here?"
Su He felt guilty and hid his phone behind his back: "I'm fine."
Sheng Jinyu's eyesight was very good. He saw the dial-up page on his phone at a glance. He immediately felt a headache again and bent down to grab the phone: "Don't call."
Su He lowered his voice and argued: "Why? I caused the problem, so I don't need to trouble you to deal with it."
"Do you think calling this number will help? You don't even know anything, why are you trying to be a hero?" Sheng Jin lowered his voice and gripped his wrist with astonishing strength.
Su He was also anxious: "Who else can help them? Or, are you really in cahoots with them? Where did you take that girl?"
He was so anxious that he started yelling. Sheng Jinyu was so angry that he was speechless: "You..."
There weren't many times when he was left speechless, but when he saw his own reflection in Su He's clear eyes, with doubt and speculation in his eyes, he felt inexplicably angry.
He was even more furious than when he saw Su He hanging around in front of him and being annoying.
This person actually thinks he is the same person as Sheng Zhilin?
The rage came on so suddenly, like a flint that was about to ignite, it brought out Sheng Jin and a full sense of hostility, easily interfering with his rationality.
"Yes, that's who I am. Did you just realize it now?"
Sheng Jinyu's smile was a little cold, and his eyes looked as if he wanted to eat Su He.
He grabbed Su He's wrist and pulled him up, dragging him away without giving him any room to refuse. Su He realized that they were not heading back to the box at all, and he stumbled over his words, "Where are we going?"
"Now that you've discovered my secret, of course I have to kill you to silence you." Sheng Jin said unhappily without stopping.
Upon hearing this, Su Hema was furious. It was true!
Sheng Jinyu wanted to cut him into pieces!
He was dragged into the elevator by Sheng Jinyu. The number keys kept changing downwards. Su He's heart was pounding and his mind was spinning rapidly, wondering how he could escape from the clutches of the devil the moment the elevator door opened.
The elevator stopped at the basement level of the clubhouse and the door slowly opened. Without thinking, he lowered his head and was about to rush out, but was suddenly clamped by a large hand around his neck.
Sheng Jinyu chuckled softly in his ear: "Why are you running? You were just speaking righteously and sternly just now. Do you think you can get away from here?"
Su He felt as if fate was grasping him by the scruff of the neck. The voice in his ear was full of threats. He clenched his fists nervously and struggled desperately. In the chaos, he seemed to have scratched a few small cuts on the hand that was holding him.
Sheng Jinyu gasped with a hiss and walked out with Su He in his hand. His grip was so strong that Su He couldn't break free at all. He pursed his lips and was so angry that he didn't want to talk.
The underground second floor was crowded with people, dimly lit, and the noisy music was deafening. If someone got lost in such an environment, he would probably be able to collect Su He's body there the next day.
Sheng Jin and the dishonest man walked through the crowd who were busy dancing and having fun, pushed open the door of a private room, and turned around to lock it properly, as if they were afraid that he would run away.
Su He stared at him fiercely and thought sadly, my life is over!
Sheng Jinyu ignored him and pushed open the door to the inner room.
A burst of female cursing suddenly rang out, almost drowning out the music in the outer hall. Due to her heavy accent and fast speaking speed, Su He only heard one sentence clearly: "Are you an idiot?" The man she cursed nodded and said yes.
Su He looked carefully and found that this person looked familiar. He was the same person as the manager on duty who was questioned in Sheng Zhilin's box!
The woman said that Sheng Zhilin was shameless and she couldn't do anything about it, but she had to take all the children she brought back with her.
She was so powerful that the manager on duty was so cowering and sweating in front of her, and looked like a helpless person being stuck in the middle. It was obvious that the woman's status was also enough to compete with Sheng Zhilin.
In the end, the manager on duty was scolded so harshly that his face turned pale.
He walked out dejectedly and bumped into Sheng Jinyu standing at the door. He wiped the sweat off his face and said, "Third Master, I'll be leaving first."
Sheng Jinyu nodded, which was considered correct.
When the manager passed by Su He, he lowered his head and didn't dare to look up at him. He quickly opened the locked door and ran away.
The door remained closed and not locked.
Su He turned his head to look at Sheng Jinyu, who leaned against the door frame, glanced at him, and said nothing.
How does this look like an attempt to silence someone?
Su He slowly realized that Sheng Jin and...
Are you kidding him?
