Chapter 14
Sheng Jinyu was not used to this feeling. Not only was he not used to it, he even felt a little disgusted, or at a loss as to what to do.
He was anxious to change the subject, and so he made another bad start.
He took out a sticker from his pocket and asked expressionlessly, "What's that thing you stuffed into my pocket for?"
Su He naturally took the "sticker" and carefully tore it open. He lifted the hem of Sheng Jinyu's suit and stuck it on the lining. He explained, "This is a mosquito repellent patch. I saw several mosquito bites on your body this morning. Don't you feel itchy?"
There are many mosquitoes in Guangzhou, and he himself has suffered greatly from them, with big red bumps all over his body. When the housekeeper Sister Ling saw this, she gave him this.
"Actually, Sister Ling has prepared a lot of things a long time ago, but she was afraid that you wouldn't like to use them, so she never gave them to you..." Su He explained.
Sheng Jinyu stared at his movements for a long time. His black hair fell over his eyes, making it impossible to tell his emotions, but somewhere in his heart softened.
"A sticker is valid for two hours. You must remember to replace it... otherwise it will become invalid... Forget it, I'll remind you." Su He kept nagging.
Su He really likes to nag. Sheng Jinyu knew this from the beginning. He felt annoyed when he heard it then, and he still feels annoyed now.
He turned his back, closed his ears, and walked towards the teahouse. Su He followed behind him, and spoke in a low voice for fear of annoying him.
Sheng Jinyu said without turning around: "Can you shut up now?"
"But I haven't finished yet..." Su He said in a daze.
"You're annoying."
"Oh, all right then."
Song Xin and Fang Cheng were still waiting at the door of the teahouse. She was surprised to find that the boss who was furious just now had calmed down. It was really magical.
She bravely conveyed the partner's apology and retention, and begged them to give them another chance.
Sheng Jin and Wuyan agreed and pushed the door open to enter the tea room.
Song Xin looked at Su He who was waiting obediently at the door, nudged Fang Cheng's shoulder, and whispered, "Assistant Fang, is your intelligence accurate? Didn't you say that they are incompatible? I think this is quite useful!"
Assistant Fang raised his hand to push up his glasses, and the delicate lenses flashed a cold light, which was obviously beyond his comprehension.
What was even more strange was that after the negotiation, Sheng Jinyu instructed him to order a new fish tank and a complete ecosystem, and have it delivered to Xiaoxie Garden as soon as possible.
He has followed Sheng Jin for so many years, and this taciturn and bad-tempered boss never keeps any animals at home.
That tank of piranhas was an accident. When did the boss fall in love with raising fish?
~
On the first weekend of August, the large side hall was filled with messy parts, and the ground and furniture were all covered with a layer of non-woven fabric to prevent dust.
The position where Su He was standing was a bit of an obstacle, so he moved aside to make way for the passing installer.
If it weren't for the half-person-high landscape fish tank that was a bit troublesome to install, the villa would rarely be so lively at this time.
Su He lowered his head and asked S037: "Are we going to get new fish at home?"
A whirlpool of thought appeared on S037's screen, and then he replied, "I don't know. Jinzi didn't mention it, and our logistics system doesn't have any reminders about ordering ornamental fish."
After the fish tank is fully assembled and the ambient light is turned on, the clear fiberglass is surrounded by aquatic plants, the water circulation system is made into the shape of underwater bionic corals, and the bottom of the fish tank is covered with round and plump white beads.
The magnificence and luxury can be felt without comparison. The difference between it and the floor-standing fish tank with only aquatic plants in the adjacent hall is obvious. The treatment of those piranhas is really not good.
Su He took a closer look and recognized that it should be some kind of natural pearl. He couldn't help but sigh that it was really luxurious.
Such a configuration must be used to raise extremely valuable fish!
So Sheng Jinyu likes to raise fish?
He thought of the two not-so-active little fish in the small fish tank in his room. Su He couldn't help but feel envious with his eyes shining. Although he didn't have the conditions to provide them with such a good living environment now, there was still a lot he could do.
However, until the installation master left and the servants restored the living room to its original state and left, no one came to buy live fish to fill the empty tank.
Strange, you bought a fish tank but don’t want to keep fish in it?
When Sheng Jinyu entered the room, he was wrapped in heat. When the air conditioner blew cold air, he seemed to be evaporating and emitting white smoke. Su He saw it, clicked his tongue and said fiercely, "Stand outside, don't come in yet!"
I told him several times not to come in and use the air conditioning immediately after exercising, but the young master ignored it all!
Sheng Jinyu was stunned by his yelling, and even forgot to close the door as he stood at the door: "What's wrong with you again?"
Su He ran to get a towel and covered his head with it. Sheng Jinyu immediately frowned and glared at him.
"Why don't you listen? You'll catch a cold." Su He muttered, and handed over a cup of warm water: "Aren't you thirsty? Drink some water."
Sheng Jinyu stared at him for a while, snorted, and was too lazy to argue with him. He tilted his head back and took two sips of warm water. The water marks slid down his chin, passed over his protruding Adam's apple, and disappeared into his collar.
Before he had swallowed all the water, he caught a glimpse of the extravagantly shaped landscape fish tank out of the corner of his eye.
A mouthful of water choked into his throat, and Sheng Jinyu couldn't help but cough a few times.
Su He quickly reached out and patted him on the back: "What's wrong?"
Following Sheng Jinyu's gaze, he also looked at the fish tank and explained, "The installer just installed it, and we've already asked the aquaculture consultant to inspect it. Is there anything wrong?"
What's wrong?
Sheng Jinyu pushed his hand away, put down the cup, pushed the door open, and immediately called Assistant Fang: "What's going on with that fish tank?"
Assistant Fang was confused at first, and then began to think about countless possibilities.
Don't like it? Not satisfied?
Or is there something wrong?
"Is there something wrong?" Assistant Fang asked cautiously.
After this question, Sheng Jinyu fell silent. What should he ask?
But it’s just two goldfish, there’s no need to make such a big fuss, right?
Or maybe, he made such a big deal about it, as if he really cared about those two fish...
Assistant Fang had already developed the uncanny ability to decipher his leader's thoughts when he was silent. He glanced at the renderings sent back by the installation team and speculated, "We didn't set a budget limit. Perhaps the custom-made contractor was afraid you wouldn't be satisfied if the work wasn't done well, so they... overdid it a bit."
After a pause, Assistant Fang asked tentatively, "How about asking them to tear it down and rebuild it?"
"Need not."
Sheng Jin immediately rejected the suggestion, as if this would make it seem less deliberate.
The pearl fish tank shines every day in the center of the living room. If you don’t know, you might think it is a place to raise pearls for fun.
Su He often took advantage of the time when no one was around to get closer and take a look at how the water circulation system worked and how the furnishings in the tank were arranged.
Then he began to plan, should he also buy a set of oxygen equipment for his little goldfish?
Strangely, Sheng Jinyu occasionally asked about the fish he raised, and his tone was not very nice, after all, he was used to doing that.
Su He thought that Sheng Jin didn't like him raising animals in his own territory, and he was worried for a while, but later he found that he didn't seem to be against it.
On the dinner table that day, the dish closest to Sheng Jin was a bamboo fungus stewed egg. Su He adjusted the position of his bowl and chopsticks as usual and wanted to leave, but was stopped by him.
Without any subtle prelude, Sheng Jinyu asked directly, "Don't you think your fish tank is a little small?"
"What?" Su He thought he had misheard, because Sheng Jinyu was not the kind of person who would chat with him casually about family matters.
"Have you ever thought that your fish is half-dead because of you?" Sheng Jinyu said nonchalantly while stirring the egg custard in the bowl.
Su He was stunned for a moment, feeling a little embarrassed. He lowered his head and began to reflect: "It seems to be true. They have been very quiet recently."
He turned and walked out of the restaurant, muttering to himself, "Looks like I have to think of some other way."
Sheng Jinyu pursed her lips and looked at Su He's back without stopping. She was speechless for a moment and her teeth were clenched.
S037 appeared quietly, scrolling the wheel, and cautiously reminded, "Master, you can actually just tell people when you're giving them a gift. You'll only scare them away!"
It quickly received a glare.
Even 037, an emotionless AI, came to the conclusion based on algorithmic analysis that Sheng Jin's confusing behavior over the past few days was just a weird way of giving gifts.
I don’t know if the way he hinted was too outrageous, or if Su He was too slow to react and didn’t receive his signal.
The eldest young master, who was already too embarrassed to save face, felt even more embarrassed when his thoughts were exposed by S037. Sheng Jin glanced at it coldly with a hint of anger and embarrassment.
He immediately turned off S037's language system.
No matter how 037, who was forced to become mute, rolled around and begged for mercy, he temporarily lost his precious vocal cords.
After leaving the pearl fish tank empty for five days, Sheng Jinyu's patience finally ran out. He called Special Assistant Fang and said simply, "Tear it down."
The wind on the terrace blew his bangs, and the starry sky was shining brightly against the darkness. The clouds tonight were particularly conspicuous, and were illuminated by the city lights with a faint purple-red color. It was another exceptionally hot and humid night.
He is different from those ordinary smokers. He will only light a cigarette when he feels depressed and irritable, but he will not inhale it. He will watch the smoke rising from it, which will be consumed by the flames bit by bit until it burns out.
The assembly and disassembly of the fish tank seemed to suddenly wake Sheng Jinyu up.
He began to reflect on the moment when he made the decision. What virus dominated his brain? It was like he had gone crazy!
It's just sick.
Sheng Jinyu flicked his fingertips to shake the ash into the ashtray, and without even looking at the figure downstairs, turned around and went back to the bedroom.
Su He downstairs was writing on the balcony. The original owner's physique naturally attracted mosquitoes, so he often had to spray a lot of mosquito repellent on his body and wear long clothes and long pants to ensure that he would not be harmed.
A cool smell often accompanies his writing process, but today when he returned to the room, he seemed to smell a faint smell of tobacco, a light scent that seemed to be there and not there.
I don't know where it came from, but saying it was his hallucination seems to be a reasonable explanation.
Su He went into the house, changed out of his pajamas, and waited for a while until the living room was quiet and there was no movement late at night. He then sneaked out with his dog in his small fish tank to change the water.
He went out today and bought a set of oxygen equipment and new fish food, which is just right for the replacement.
He was already very familiar with this road. The floor lights lit up little by little with his footsteps. Su He felt that he could find the bathroom even in the dark.
But as soon as he turned the corner, the pale light from the floor lamp illuminated a pair of slippers, and a tall and strong figure suddenly appeared on his way!
There's someone! And they're still alive!
Su He was really not easily frightened. He tensed up in an instant, his mind went blank, and his hands that were holding the edge of the fish tank became uncontrollable.
There was a sharp cracking sound!
Su He was drenched by the splashing water.
