Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Su He returned to his room and sorted out the stuck plot. It finally became much smoother, so he tried to write again. However, after writing and revising it, the result was still not ideal.

It scratched its hair with a confused mind, tore up the paper and was about to crumple it up and throw it away, but after a pause, it slowly folded it into a paper airplane and threw it, accurately inserting it into the mud of the flowerpot in the corner.

The potted plant was already filled with similar paper airplanes.

The next day at breakfast time, Su He lingered in the kitchen and wandered around Sheng Jinyu, wiping the table, adding some tea, and busying himself with work that was not his responsibility, like a wandering little bee.

In fact, Sheng Jin's right arm injury has almost healed, and he can move around independently, so he doesn't need him to be by his side all the time.

But Su He was really a little abnormal this time, and his wandering around made people feel annoyed.

Sheng Jinyu put down the spoon in his hand, looked up at Su He who was grinding coffee beans next to him, with a strange look in his eyes.

Su He received his gaze and said enthusiastically, "It will be done in a moment!"

Sheng Jinyu was speechless, folding his arms and leaning back against the chair. "If you have something to say, just say it. You're really being weird."

Su He really had something to do. He immediately put down the half-ground coffee beans and didn't pretend for another second. He ran over happily and said, "Actually, I want to ask you, do you know if there are any car races or performances in Guangzhou recently?"

Sheng Jinyu frowned slightly when he heard this: "Why are you asking this?"

"I want to go and see it in person." Su He looked at Sheng Jinyu with bright expectant eyes. This was his only connection in the racing field.

Sheng Jin met his gaze with a light and flirtatious look, then lowered her head as if thinking, and after a long while, she blurted out indifferently, "No."

"Ah!" Su He's smile instantly collapsed, his eyes filled with disappointment. He muttered softly, "Okay, thank you for telling me."

Sheng Jinyu noticed the change in his expression completely and found it amusing. He chuckled, "I've been so attentive all morning, and this is all you need. If you can't get the answer you want, you're giving me a cold shoulder?"

"I'm not showing any emotion, I just can't smile," Su He explained to him seriously, "Do you want to see me smile? That's fine."

After saying that, he forced out a smile in a very perfunctory manner, his white teeth were wrapped by his soft lips. With his facial features, he would look good no matter how he smiled, but the expression in his eyes was very forced.

"That's enough. Your smile is uglier than your cry." Sheng Jinyu just glanced at him and stood up and left.

Sheng Jinyu would never inform Su He of his movements, so after he left in the morning, Su He was free again in the villa.

Unexpectedly, he received a call from Assistant Fang in the afternoon, asking him to take the documents that S037 took out from the study and deliver them over. The driver had already gone to Xiaoxie Garden to pick him up.

Su He immediately did as he was told and got into the car with the folder.

He couldn't help but wonder, Sheng Jinyu actually trusted him to deliver the documents personally. Did he believe in the cooperation and completely let down his guard against him, or was he testing him again?

The vehicle did not drive towards the city, but instead drove onto the highway and went further and further away, passing through an old city area along the way. The road was blocked by poorly connected advertising billboards and low table stalls placed randomly on the side of the road. The vehicle kept stopping and starting, making Su He dizzy.

He arrived at his destination feeling dizzy, but he suddenly came to his senses after seeing the name of the venue's gate.

The Beigang Circuit is located in the northwest of Guangzhou, the closest to the inland area. It has a natural geographical advantage with the mountains behind it. It has rich maps for both track racing and off-road obstacles, and has hosted the F1 Formula One event held in Guangzhou.

He got out of the car with the documents in his pocket and first saw Assistant Fang who was waiting downstairs to talk to the manager.

Then the crowd surrounded the track director and Sheng Jin and came out of the revolving door together.

Sheng Jinyu didn't wear a suit, but chose a light sportswear, as if he was not prepared to go out in a hurry. This casual outfit without too many decorations made him look more like a young man in his early twenties.

It's just... it doesn't look like they are here to discuss business seriously.

Su He stood in a conspicuous place. Sheng Jinyu did notice him, but he just glanced at him with his head tilted. A huge crowd passed by Su He, stirring up a slight breeze.

Assistant Fang came forward at the right time and took the documents from his hand: "Mr. Su, please come over."

Su He smiled and said, "It's not a big deal. Should I wait for him to go back together?"

"Come with me." Assistant Fang seemed to have been prepared and led the way in the direction the group left.

Su He didn't ask any more questions and followed Assistant Fang to join the main group. The small group of people following behind the crowd greeted them with smiles and made way for them. They were allowed to stand behind Sheng Jinyu and follow him not too far away.

The track directors surrounded Sheng Jin and smiled flatteringly, "When the assistant delivered the news yesterday, I thought I was done with you, Mr. Sheng. But this morning, when I went out, I heard the magpie call. It turned out to be Mr. Sheng's arrival!"

"As soon as the news got out at noon, the remaining tickets for the competition were instantly in short supply. You're our lucky star, aren't you?"

Sheng Jin and Ming Ming did not like to hear such nice words, and their expressions did not change at all.

He just said lightly: "You are too kind."

"Mr. Xiao Sheng is still modest. Your team is warming up in the practice field. Let's go directly to the VIP seats. The race will start soon." The director knew when to stop and quickly changed the subject.

Isn't this a competition?

Sheng Jin and this liar!!

Su He curled his lips in anger, and then he heard the employees behind him muttering quietly: "Weren't they rejected two days ago? The chairman was furious, and I was scolded for it. Why did they suddenly agree today? Did anyone of you put in the effort?"

"Oh, if that person doesn't want to come, how much effort can be used? We don't have that much face, who knows why he suddenly changed his mind today, but thank God, this time I finally saved my year-end bonus!"

So, Sheng Jinyu was originally invited to be a guest, but he refused.

But for some reason, he suddenly agreed today?

Su He raised his head and secretly glanced at the back of Sheng Jinyu's head. This man always did what he thought, so it was not surprising that he changed his mind so often. There was no need to give any reason.

The group took the elevator from the internal passage to the best viewing seat in the center of the auditorium.

In the distance, a motorcade was waiting in the wings, and the noisy shouts from the audience echoed all around.

The countdown bell for the start rang, and as the red light went out, the race officially began.

This location is very close to the starting point of the track. The sound of speeding tires scraping against the ground and the deafening roar of the engine are right in front of you, almost hurting your eardrums. When the car rushed out from in front of you, Su He truly felt the terrifying speed of the car.

Sheng Jinyu was sitting on the side, talking to Song Feng, the manager of the MG team.

He had been back to China for over a month, and his injuries were almost healed, but he hadn't mentioned returning. Manager Song guessed that he probably wouldn't go back. This time, when they finally met, Song Feng asked Sheng Jin what his plans were for the future.

He placed his fingers on the table and tapped them quickly a few times. Su He noticed and knew that it was a sign that Sheng Jin was in a bad mood.

He even lost his most treasured trophies and discs. Could it be that he has really decided not to touch racing again?

Su He pricked up his ears and waited for Sheng Jinyu's answer with the manager.

After a while, he finally said, "I'm so busy, I don't have time."

This is true. Sheng Jinyu is indeed very busy. He has just taken on the management of Zhisen Capital. He has more than a dozen new plans handed to him, and he is dizzy from looking at the PPTs.

The situation on the track over there also began to become strange and uncertain. Manager Song quickly talked to Sheng Jin about the performance of the drivers on the field. Sitting next to them was the partner brought by Manager Song, ready to discuss sponsorship for the team this quarter.

Such good opportunities are rare nowadays. Su He sat behind Sheng Jinyu, and whenever he saw that Sheng Jinyu was not talking, he would ask some questions.

What do those technical terms like "pole position" and "apex" mentioned by the commentator just now mean? Why do some drivers rush into a section of road with a no-entry sign, and why do the audience curse when they overtake in a straight line when everyone else is going through a corner?

Su He thought that Sheng Jinyu hated that he always talked too much, so he tried to ask questions in the simplest language.

At first, Sheng Jinyu only responded incoherently.

It was inconvenient for him to pick up the water cup on the table with his right hand, so Su He hurriedly handed it to him. Seeing the smile on his face, Sheng Jinyu knew that this man probably had something to ask for, just like how he was diligently wandering around the dining table in the morning.

"Are you so interested?" Sheng Jinyu asked, holding the teacup without drinking.

Su He nodded vigorously.

Sheng Jinyu remained silent, continuing, "He entered the restricted zone and overtook on the curve, earning a position he didn't deserve. He's likely to be penalized by the race officials, potentially 5-10 seconds. That's why he voluntarily gave up his spot and returned to eighth place."

His explanation was easy to understand, without any perfunctory or impatient tone. When talking about such professional issues, Sheng Jinyu was surprisingly calm and serious, which was rare.

This made Su He even bolder and he started asking a million questions. He didn't understand this, and didn't understand that. Sheng Jin accepted all the answers one by one, and would even stop to ask Su He if he understood.

It was like red rain from the sky. It was the first time in my life that I met such an easy-going Master Sheng!

A business partner who had been listening in couldn't help but interject, saying with a smile, "He's truly worthy of being the son of the Sheng family. He's young, promising, and capable, and he's in charge of such a large fleet. He really brings honor to the Sheng family!"

Sheng Jinyu was tired of hearing such words. Even the words were the same. After all, the person being praised was the third young master of the Sheng family, not him, Sheng Jinyu. It was the same no matter who was being praised.

He raised the corner of his mouth nonchalantly in response.

But he heard Su He whispering in his ear from behind: "I think you're amazing too. I've watched all your competition videos. I can't give you any professional evaluation, but you're just amazing."
