Chapter 24
Sheng Jin glanced at him coldly: "Did Sheng Zonglan ask you to come?"
His tone was a little cold and his expression was not good-looking. He seemed to be in a very bad mood.
Su He shook his head, still not daring to move. He squatted at the corner of the table, nervously tugging at the fabric of his trouser legs and said, "Didn't you call me here because you needed me? Or, it could be Mr. Yan. I ran into him at the door."
Sheng Jinyu turned around and said disdainfully, "Who needs you?"
He probably guessed what was going on and secretly cursed Yan Yichen for coming up with bad ideas again.
The white tiger in his arms turned over and nudged Sheng Jinyu's chin with its big head. Sheng Jinyu then combed its hair with a special tooth comb.
The man and the tiger were in harmony, as if the huge animal was really a docile big cat.
"Why aren't you coming down yet?" Sheng Jinyu said without raising his head.
Su He realized that his posture was indeed indecent and impolite, so he quickly climbed down and took a tissue to wipe the place where he had stepped on.
Then he stood there stiffly, as if he was being punished, staring at the white tiger with vigilance.
Sheng Jin glanced over and looked at Su He's reserved appearance. His eyes rolled around and his slender white fingers tugged at the corner of his clothes. He seemed to be extremely scared, and his handsome face was slightly wrinkled.
It seemed like any slight movement could make him terrified, making people want to bully him for some unknown reason.
He raised the corner of his mouth slightly, scratched Baihu's soft chin with his fingers, and then patted Baihu's butt in the dark.
The white tiger turned over and got up, walking slowly towards Su He with leisurely steps.
!!!
Su He suddenly felt like a taut string, and even his breathing subconsciously slowed down.
He held his breath and watched the white tiger walk to his side, slowly circle around twice, put its pink nose close to Su He's hanging hand and sniffed it, and began to exhale from its nostrils, accompanied by an impatient hum.
This, this is angry!
"Sheng, Sheng Jinyu!" Su He couldn't help but clenched his fists and called Sheng Jinyu's name, "Is it going to bite me? I'm a little scared~"
Sheng Jinyu could tell that he was truly frightened. Even the ending of his voice was shaky, like a sweet moan coming out of his throat. The tone was sticky and crooked, like a cat's paw suddenly scratching his heart.
He said in a neutral tone, "You're blocking it from getting the toy."
Su He turned his head with a stiff neck. Where he was blocking the way was a rag doll, a one-eyed rabbit.
It has been bitten into a mess, but the quality is still good, and there is no broken thread or cotton exposed.
He quickly dodged and saw the white tiger pick up the doll and leisurely pass by him and return to Sheng Jinyu. It seemed very obedient and did not look like a wild beast that would attack people at any time.
Sheng Jinyu touched its head and said to Su He, "Why don't you leave?"
"My mission has not been completed yet." Su He directly confessed his purpose. There was nothing to hide anyway.
Sheng Jinyu was a little surprised. He certainly knew why Su He was thrown in.
But this guy was so scared just now, but he still remembered the crappy mission. He is really determined.
He lowered his head and said nothing, determined to ignore him. Since Su He was so resistant to his prying into his privacy, how could he have the confidence to persuade him? It was really puzzling.
However, Su He did not say anything to persuade him as he expected. He just moved towards Sheng Jinyu step by step, looking at the white tiger curiously.
He had never seen this kind of animal so close before. Even when he was a child, he had seen it in the zoo, but only through thick glass.
The white tiger was black and white, and should not be very old. Its nose and ears were pink, and even its claw pads were gray-pink. It was licking Sheng Jinyu's palm non-stop, just like a large silver tabby cat.
He slowly squatted down beside Sheng Jinyu, holding his knees and asked cautiously, "Can I touch it?"
Sheng Jinyu turned around and looked at him. The man who was scared to death just now was so curious now?
"Don't worry, it won't bite."
That's good. Just as Su He was relieved, he heard Sheng Jinyu leisurely add: "Usually, they eat it directly."
Su He stretched out his hand and then retracted it, rubbing his fingers as if he was still frightened.
Sheng Jinyu snorted and laughed.
Su He knew that he had been fooled. He sat for a while and then moved closer to Sheng Jinyu. Now there was only a fist's distance between them.
"Does it have a name?" he asked curiously.
Sheng Jinyu uttered a word similar to "Bassen", which was neither English nor French. It was unknown which language it was transliterated from. Su He tried to learn it, but he could not learn that accent.
"I'm sorry, I can't learn it."
"What's the use of learning it?"
Su He looked down at Bashen. The little white tiger was originally playing with the toy in his mouth, but Sheng Jinyu started to cut his nails with nail clippers. The little white tiger suddenly twisted restlessly, but was immediately suppressed by Sheng Jinyu.
"Awooo~"
Bashen shouted twice in protest, and his big head popped out from the gap between Sheng Jinyu's arms and thighs, just facing Su He with his face tilted up.
The soft white hair on its chin stood up, looking very nice to the touch, and was completely tempting to commit a crime.
Su He couldn't help but take advantage of the tiger's vulnerability and slowly scratched the soft flesh on its chin with his fingertips.
The little guy let out a few low growls in a bluffing manner and looked at him fiercely, but because he was held hostage by his master, he had no way to resist and could only lie on his belly and let himself be slaughtered.
Su He smiled and withdrew his hand with satisfaction.
He just sat quietly beside him, teasing Bashen from time to time. He never got tired of it even when Bashen ignored him. He always knew when to stop and had a lot of fun.
He seemed to have completely forgotten his "mission" and just quietly accompanied Sheng Jinyu.
It took a long time, so long that even Sheng Jinyu began to doubt what Su He was doing here.
Without saying anything, just sitting here and playing with his white tiger?
The sun was setting in the distant sky. Sheng Jinyu brushed off the grass debris on his body and stood up. Seeing him move, Su He also stood up and acted like his little tail like a magnet.
Sheng Jinyu went to put away the tools, and he followed. Sheng Jinyu took Bassen back to the house to eat, and he followed and waved goodbye to the little white tiger at the door.
Sheng Jin ignored him and walked into the dressing room, but immediately saw the ironed dress suit hanging on the hanger, and the matching tie and jewel brooch were placed in an open velvet box.
The preparations are quite complete...
He suddenly turned around and pressed the door panel with a snap. His tall figure blocked the entrance. Su He almost bumped into him. When he looked up, he saw Sheng Jin looking down at him and said indifferently, "You want to come in even though I'm changing clothes?"
"Are you finally willing to come out? That's great! I won't go in. Call me if you need anything!" Su He smiled brightly, waved his hand and happily retreated.
“…”
Half an hour later, Sheng Jinyu appeared at the door of the banquet hall.
Su He followed behind him, tugged at his ill-fitting suit, and muttered, "Why do I have to come too?"
"You don't have to come. It's just that I don't want to come either." Sheng Jinyu turned around and pretended to leave.
Su He was startled and quickly stopped him: "Okay, okay, let's go in!"
Although he didn't know what the connection was between Sheng Jin and those two sentences, he had invited this ancestor anyway, so how could he let it go to waste at the door?
Sheng Jinyu raised the corner of his mouth, turned around and walked in with satisfaction. Su He had no choice but to follow him.
Yan Yichen, who was standing at the side of the flower hall, crossed his arms and looked over here. He smiled at the old housekeeper beside him and said confidently, "See what I said, you don't have to worry."
The old housekeeper looked hesitant and asked him worriedly, "Master Yan, is that your... friend?"
"For now," Yan Yichen said with an ambiguous smile.
"temporary!"
The poor old housekeeper's already tense heart leaped into his throat again. For now... Does that mean it will escalate into another intimate relationship in the future?!
Su He followed Sheng Jinyu all night long. He didn't follow too closely, but just habitually poured him a glass of wine when he was talking to someone.
The goblet was handed to him. Sheng Jinyu took a sip, frowned slightly, and glanced at Su He with a slanted look. Su He came up behind him and whispered quietly, "You are still taking medicine, you can't drink."
The glass with bubbles posing as champagne was actually a glass of pineapple-flavored soda.
This way of avoiding drinking has always been ridiculed at the dinner table, but not being discovered is the best strategy. Sheng Jinyu ignored him and continued the conversation.
Su He stepped aside. Although he didn't know anyone here, there were many people who recognized his face.
Occasionally, when passing by a crowd of noisy people, Su He could hear his name appear along with some outrageous rumors.
For example, after being separated from the Su family, he lived a life worse than pigs and dogs. Some people said he hooked up with a big shot and was selling his ass. The variety of stories was so rich that he could even make the front page of the news alone...
Some of these rumors came from the original owner's ex-boyfriend Lin Jing.
After the original owner was kicked out of the house, he lost his support in mediating in the wealthy circle, so he relied on suppressing and spreading rumors about the original owner to gain the trust of the Su family and reintegrate into this circle.
The rumors spread more and more, and more people believed them. Those who once ate and drank with the original owner at the same table now treated him like trash.
This is a good thing, so that you don’t have to deal with acquaintances left and right and get caught.
The dinner was in the latter half.
Su He stood in the corner, looking at Sheng Jinyu who was talking eloquently in front of the microphone on the stage. As the future successor of the Sheng family, he did have a good temperament. When the lights were on, he seemed to shine even more brightly than the jewel brooch on his chest.
Suddenly, his eyes met the people on the stage.
But they were separated in an instant, so fast that it seemed like someone's illusion.
Su He lowered his head and retreated into the darkness. His stomach was empty and he was a little anxious with hunger, so he quietly went to the water area to get some scones to fill his stomach. Each scones had a big and sweet cherry on top.
The plump flesh was sweet in his mouth. He picked another one from the fruit shop and ate it until his lips turned red and his eyes were full of smiles.
I had just finished eating and wiped my hands when I ran into someone I didn’t know very well.
The Su couple obviously didn't expect to meet him here. Following behind them was a slightly reserved black-haired young man, probably their biological son.
Out of politeness, Su He nodded in greeting. He had no intention of going over, but he didn't expect them to come over first.
The well-dressed middle-aged woman looked at him with a scrutinizing expression: "Ahe, why are you here?"
"Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with?" Su He asked cautiously, without revealing his relationship with the Sheng family.
The woman sensed the distance in his words and rubbed her hands awkwardly, then continued to probe: "We just saw you and the third young master of the Sheng family. Are you friends?"
"You're flattering him too much," the man behind her said disdainfully, still maintaining his dignified demeanor. "He looks like he's just that young master's henchman. It seems Xiaolin is right. You've been doing quite well without us. You've been gone for several months and haven't come back to visit once. You really can't be tamed."
It was really ridiculous that Su's father was trying to put the blame on others. There was no point in arguing any further. Su He didn't intend to pay attention to him. After all, they had no relationship in the past and would have no relationship in the future.
"I have something else to do, so I'll leave first."
Just as he was about to turn around, Father Su yelled in anger, "Stop! Is this how you approach your elders? Have we raised you for over twenty years in vain?"
