Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Su He's face flushed instantly. He waved his hands repeatedly and stammered, "No, no! I... didn't..."

Seeing that the situation was about to get worse, Su He didn't dare to say anything more, nor did he want to glance at the stage. He could only stare at the ice bucket on the table, watching the ice inside melt bit by bit.

As the performance progressed, the dim atmosphere gradually ignited, and a charming and ambiguous atmosphere filled the air.

Sheng Jinyu drank the wine in the glass and slammed it on the table with a bang. The half screen did not block sound or shield objects, so he saw everything that happened next door.

"Drink less. Aren't we here to do serious business? It's not easy to catch Chen Zhaoyuan. He is a cunning man with three burrows. He is very sneaky." Yan Yichen advised.

"Is he still playing this?" Sheng Jinyu asked in a deep voice.

Yan Yichen was stunned. He followed his gaze and sighed, "Didn't I tell you before that he used to be a playboy, a big playboy? I don't know why he's become so well-behaved now. Maybe major changes really can change a person."

Sheng Jinyu chewed the ice in his mouth, making a crisp sound. He looked away, closed his eyes, and tried to calm himself down.

After the first round of performances, the trainer left the stage. Chen Zhaoyuan didn't believe Su He could still control himself in the face of such a good host, so he asked, "Have you regained some of your urge? I'll have him go straight to your room tonight."

Su He was even more drunk than before. Although he wasn't as unconscious as the last time he was forced to drink, his face was already flushed. He shook his head and said the same thing: "No thanks."

The trainer walked towards the booth, took off a pair of black gloves, and extended his hand towards him: "Mr. Su, nice to meet you."

Even though Su He was drunk, he still remembered his manners. He shook hands back, but when he wanted to release his hand, he couldn't pull it back. The man held his hand with an oppressive force and said, "Are you going to reject me?"

But the alcohol made him forget some of his manners, and the disgust that surged from the bottom of his heart made Su He's face turn cold. He pulled his hand away hard, with such a big movement that it seemed like he was shaking it off.

Su He's feet staggered and he lost his balance. His knees hit the low table and he fell forward. The man reached out to grab some food, but someone else pulled Su He into his arms before him.

The man was stunned and looked at Sheng Jinyu. He already had a strong physique with broad shoulders and long legs, but he was still not as good as Sheng Jinyu. The instinct of male repulsion made him realize that the noble man in front of him was not only hostile to him, but also looked down on him with contempt.

"I don't understand why he said no need?" Sheng Jinyu said coldly.

He turned to look at Chen Zhaoyuan, who had a strange expression on his face, and said in a serious tone, "Mr. Chen, please continue. We'll be leaving first."

In full view of everyone, Sheng Jinyu pulled Su He across the dim hall and disappeared from everyone's sight.

Su He stumbled all the way and almost couldn't keep up with Sheng Jinyu's pace. He grabbed Sheng Jinyu's clothes and followed him into the elevator, saying breathlessly: "Slow down, I can't keep up."

Sheng Jinyu supported his staggering body and looked at him gloomily. He saw Su He taking a few breaths and asked, "Aren't you going to talk to Mr. Chen?"

Looking at his innocent and naive appearance, Sheng Jinyu felt even more angry. He obviously knew everything and was the one who played others for fun, so how could he have such a pair of clear eyes?

"You still have the mood to care about me?" Sheng Jin looked down at him and asked in a low voice, "But you, you just rejected the surprise that others prepared for you?"

Su He smiled awkwardly and racked his brains to come up with a few words of explanation: "Before... I was young and ignorant. Now I don't want to play like this anymore."

"Does he want to stop playing, or has he settled down? Assistant Su used to be so romantic, is he going to settle down with someone?"

Sheng Jin's tone was light, but he used his whole body to cover Su He, as if he was pushing him into a corner. Su He lowered his head, his hand still clutching the corner of his clothes, and said, "People always have to grow after experiencing great changes."

"It seems that you didn't retire because you fell in love with someone." Sheng Jinyu's tone seemed a little disappointed.

Su He scratched his head. It was indeed hard to believe that he had caused the original owner's personality to change so drastically. If he could find an excuse to avoid these romantic gossips forever, it would probably be only one...

Thinking of this, Su He closed his eyes and said boldly: "Yes, I have someone I like!"

To make his words sound more credible, he added, "It's different from the fun we had before. This time, I want to really like him, so I decided to say goodbye to the past."

Anyway, Sheng Jinyu was too lazy to find out who he was talking about, so that he wouldn't be suspicious if he encountered a similar situation in the future.

It’s a one-time solution!

However, the next second, Sheng Jinyu's expression suddenly became very strange. He couldn't be said to be angry, but he couldn't be said to be happy either. He leaned forward slightly, looked into Su He's eyes and asked, "Who is it?"

Su He: “…”

Why was Sheng Jinyu curious about his love life? It wasn't long ago that he was just hoping she wouldn't cause him any trouble.

Even the air in the narrow space was sticky. A faint cold fragrance drifted into Su He's nostrils, suddenly bringing back a certain memory. That day on the terrace of Sheng's house, Sheng Jinyu had also faced him like this...

Bit his mouth.

Su He remained silent, but Sheng Jinyu pressed on, "Does he know that you like him so much?"

"No...I don't know." Su He stuttered, his brain racing, trying to figure out how to make the lie sound good.

He continued, "It's just a secret crush, there's no need to let him know."

Sheng Jin stared at him for a long time, until the elevator door dinged, and then he said coldly with a half-smile: "Okay."

When the elevator door opened, the people who entered were startled. They didn't expect there was someone else inside. Passersby looked at them strangely, wondering what the two people who didn't go upstairs or get out of the elevator were doing just now?

Su He then realized that they did not press the elevator button, so he hurried to press the floor button. As a personal assistant, Su He's room was next to Sheng Jinyu's master bedroom.

This suite is very spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the endless dark sea. It is a sea view suite with an excellent location for viewing the sea, and Su He's room just overlooks the sea.

He was still drunk, not too dizzy. Instead, the alcohol fueled his mental excitement. There were two red spots on Su He's cheeks. He sat by the window with the sea breeze blowing on his face, and he felt a little tipsy and comfortable.

A few message alerts rang out, and it was the editor at the publishing house asking about the progress.

Different from the ordinary book publishing process, the contract also includes some peripheral projects for book gifts, which requires Su He to write some exclusive content as a welfare benefit to attract sales.

He was almost ready, except for a letter from the protagonist to another male protagonist confessing his secret love.

Su He had been so busy these past two days that he had forgotten about it. Now that his editor was urging him to do it, he felt like doing it, so he went to the living room to find some paper and pen, and sat on the bay window to think quietly.

He had just been talking nonsense and spreading rumors about his dream lover, but he didn't expect to get retribution now.

What does it feel like to have a secret crush on someone, and what is it like to have a bitter love that ends in failure?

In a love letter that will never be sent out and will never be seen by the other person, should I directly express the feelings that have been suppressed for many years, or should I say that I hope everything is going well for you?

Su He tried to put himself in the protagonist's mindset, holding up his chin and looking at the night sea, seeing the lights on the distant shore flickering.

Because the distance is so far, it is almost reduced to a line. When the cruise ship moves forward, it gives people the illusion that it is heading towards the shore, but that is not the destination, so the light is there, but it will never reach it.

A few fragmented points of light flashed through his mind for a moment, and Su He immediately started writing, fearing that he would miss that moment of inspiration.

After finishing the manuscript in one go, he took a photo and sent it to the editor for review. Then he took out the first aid kit to apply medicine to the wound that had not yet fully recovered.

The piece of letter paper was just left on the table and ignored.

In the living room.

After taking a shower, Sheng Jinyu, wearing a loose bathrobe, opened the refrigerator, took out a bottle of water and drank a few gulps to cool down the heat from the bathroom.

When he was about to return to his room, he found a little warm light coming through the guest bedroom door, which was not closed tightly, casting a slanting light on the ground.

Sheng Jinyu turned his head and saw a naked back through the gap. It was illuminated by the light and was so bright and white that it was dazzling.

As if feeling guilty, he looked away, but then he thought about it again and felt guilty for some reason. As men, we all have what we should have, so what is there not to see?

Sheng Jin looked back openly.

This body is really thin, with very little flesh attached to the bones. The lines are tight and the shape is beautiful, and every bone peak is very prominent. No wonder it feels so uncomfortable to hold in my arms.

Inside the room, Su He sat on the bed and applied medicine in front of the mirror beside the bed.

The injury was on his back and shoulder. He stretched out his hand awkwardly for a long time but couldn't reach it. He didn't have eyes at the back of his head, so he couldn't see anything. He looked at various angles in front of the mirror and hesitated for nearly ten minutes.

Su He sighed.

When I wanted to give up, I met a pair of dark eyes in the mirror.

Sheng Jinyu seemed to be passing by, his body still facing forward, but his eyes were fixed on him.

At this moment, Su He was completely naked, with nothing on his upper body and only a pair of loose pajamas on his lower body. The cold wind from the air vent hit him, causing his skin to tremble.

He held the cotton swab in his hand, turned his head to look at Sheng Jinyu, and said softly: "Can you help me? I can't reach the place where I can apply the medicine."

The white, naked back was exposed, but under the light, the hideous scar across it was particularly glaring, like a burnt hole on porcelain, very glaring.

Sheng Jinyu walked in, frowning: "I thought you were fine and dared to drink?"

Su He felt as if he had been caught, and smiled flatteringly: "It's almost healed, it won't affect me anymore."

Sheng Jinyu glanced at him unexpectedly, took the cotton swab and moved closer. The closer he got, the more obvious the scar became.

A picture suddenly flashed through his mind. That day, he hugged Su He, who was in great pain and clutched his clothes with a frown on his face. Under the pale light of the car lights, he saw the sticky and shocking blood slowly sliding down between his fingers.

My heart felt like it was stung by something and it hurt so much.

Sheng Jinyu looked away uncomfortably, dragged over a movable low table, prepared the ointment and cotton swabs, and said without looking up, "Turn around."

Su He obediently sat on the edge of the bed with his legs half crossed, and obediently exposed his injured shoulder to Sheng Jinyu.

The warm yellow light in the house is cozy and appropriate, just enough to see clearly without being too bright.

Sheng Jinyu's hands were steady. He held the cotton swab and rubbed it here and there on his back without much force, so it was a little itchy. Su He's body was very sensitive and he couldn't wear any harder clothes because he would feel unbearable itching.

He subconsciously grasped the blanket beneath his hands, his body trembling with the movement of the cotton swab.

Originally, Sheng Jinyu's attention was all on the wound. Although it was healing, it still looked quite scary. He concentrated on the movements of his hands, not wanting to be distracted and do something so small that he would fail.

But Su He couldn't bear the itch and wanted to hide. The amplitude of his trembling became more and more intense. Sheng Jinyu pressed his shoulder and asked, "Why are you hiding?"

"I'm a little ticklish." Su He stammered.

Sheng Jinyu glanced at him and said, "Bear with it for a moment."

The palm of the hand pressing on his shoulder was hot, and it didn't move after it landed there. Su He restrained his body's instinct and stood still without hiding.

After a while, Sheng Jinyu took the hand away and threw all the used items into the trash can. Turning back, he found Su He was about to put on his clothes. He took two or three steps over and raised his hand to grab them: "Hang it out and wear it after it's dry."

He tore off the thin pajamas and let them fall around Su He's waist, as rudely as a bandit breaking into a house.

Su He grabbed his shaky pajamas and nodded: "I understand, thank you, then I'll go wash up first."

Watching the person pass by and go into the bathroom and close the door, Sheng Jinyu stood there for a while, then walked to the window and put the ointment in his hand into the small medicine box.

The breeze outside the window suddenly grew stronger, blowing up a piece of paper on the table, and it fell right at his feet, almost getting stepped on by him.

Sheng Jinyu picked up the thing. It was a piece of letter paper with not very beautiful handwriting. An uncapped pen was placed next to it. It looked like it was just written tonight.

He had no intention of prying into other people's privacy, but it was only a few lines of text, the content was not long and very concise, and by the time he realized it, he had already finished reading it.

Suddenly, Sheng Jinyu's pupils dilated in an instant.
