Taking out the dagger, An Ci zipped up his backpack, glanced at him sideways, and spoke with a casual laugh, "A little bit."
After hearing this, Eric showed his brotherly demeanor. He reached out and patted her shoulder, comforting her, "It's okay, just follow me, I will protect you."
Looking at the person who threatened to protect her, An Ci raised the corner of his mouth, and a faint smile spread in his eyes.
She put the dagger into her coat pocket. There was no shelter around her, and the strong wind blew yellow sand in her face, making it impossible for her to open her eyes.
Beside them, An Yiyao and the others were not in much better condition. One by one, they were forced to shed tears by the evil wind.
"Don't stand here, let's go." An Ci pulled up the hood of his sweatshirt and walked towards the jungle.
Eric followed without hesitation.
An Yiheng frowned as he looked at the endless jungle. He reached out and grabbed An Yiyao, "Brother, do we really have to follow her?"
Seeing his brother's intention to act separately, An Yiyao whispered, "We don't know how many dangers there are in this place, it's better for us to go together first."
An Yiheng could choose not to listen to others, but he always obeyed An Yiyao's words. He nodded reluctantly and followed An Yiyao.
Seeing this, others followed closely.
A thin mist filled the air, and dappled sunlight filtered through the gaps between the branches and leaves, making the damp and rotten smell in the air more pronounced.
"What is that?" Eric walked beside An Ci, covering his nose with his hands, his face full of disgust, "It stinks."
"ah--"
A scream broke out in the air and everyone was startled.
An Ci turned around, looked at An Siyu, who was pale with fear, and asked, "What's wrong?"
An Siyu's face was pale, the corners of her eyes were red, and she looked like she was about to cry. "I think I stepped on something, there's blood..."
Her whole body was stiff and she dared not move her feet.
Everyone was stunned and followed her gaze to look at her feet, only to see a furry thing vaguely covered in blood and flesh in a pile of dead leaves.
In his previous life, An Ci often went to the deep mountains and forests, so he was no longer surprised by this situation.
She walked over and said, "It's okay, just a dead mouse." Then she reached out and pulled An Siyu away.
"Just rub the soles of your shoes."
When An Siyu realized that she had stepped on a dead mouse, her stomach churned and she quickly raised her foot and rubbed it on the dead leaves.
But no matter how she rubbed it, there were still bloodstains on the soles of her shoes.
The girl loves beauty and has a mysophobia. This was the first time she encountered such a situation and she was a little overwhelmed.
In fact, not to mention her fear, Eric also felt a little disgusted when he saw the bloody rat.
He turned to look at An Ci and asked doubtfully, "Why aren't you afraid at all?"
An Ci's mouth twitched, "..."
Before she could answer, she heard Eric mutter to himself, "That's right, you dare to raise a tiger, how can you be afraid of a little mouse?"
"Let's go quickly and see if there is any food." An Ci turned around and continued walking forward.
With just a few biscuits, they would be lucky if they could last three days, let alone ten days. If they couldn't find water and food, they would lose their lives before the training was over.
Thinking of the little things in their backpacks, everyone followed in silence.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, everyone was a little tired. Eric sat down on a rock and said weakly, "No, I can't walk anymore."
The others hadn't had a drop of water for a long time, and their faces were full of fatigue. They all looked like wilted eggplants.
An Ci opened his backpack, took out a bottle of water, unscrewed the cap, drank two sips and then stopped.
There are only three bottles of water, we can’t waste them.
"I should have known not to enter the jungle. Now I'm trapped in here and can't get out." An Yiheng complained.
"You clearly don't know anything, yet you're still leading the way."
An Yiyao frowned and raised his hand to hold him, "Yiheng."
Eric was drinking water and felt that his words were meaningful. He looked up at him and said, "No, An Yiheng, who are you talking about?"
After being thrown into such a horrible place and walking for most of the day, An Yiheng was already irritable and was immediately provoked.
"What happened to her?" He looked at An Ci and said angrily, "If she hadn't gone into the jungle, would we be trapped here?"
An Ci raised her eyebrows slightly, and before she could say anything, Eric jumped up to speak up for her.
He said in a cold voice, "Bullshit! You're talking as if no one is begging you to follow us. If you have the guts, just go on your own."
An Yiheng's face turned pale as he broke free from An Yiyao's hand. "Just go on your own. Who wants to follow you?"
After saying that, he walked in the other direction without looking back.
"Yiheng." An Yiyao was afraid that something might happen to him alone, so he quickly chased after him.
Eric snorted lightly, turned to look at the others, and said, "If anyone of you wants to act alone, hurry up, and don't blame us for dragging you down in the end."
Anyang smiled and said, "We all came here together, so it's better for us to go together."
An Jianwen nodded in agreement.
The remaining three said in unison, "We also think it's best to go together."
Eric's brows relaxed, and he turned to look at An Ci, saying soothingly, "Don't take what An Yiheng said to heart. He just likes to stir up trouble."
An Ci laughed, "Don't worry, I don't take it to heart."
An Yiheng has always disliked her, and she has gotten used to it over the years. As long as it doesn't touch her bottom line, she doesn't bother to pay attention.
After a short rest, everyone continued their journey, with An Ci and Eric still walking in the front.
