"You hold a dagger against the neck of the hall master, and you still have the nerve to say you are miserable?" He bent his finger and flicked her forehead.
An Ci feigned pain and cried out, "Ouch!" "I was just trying to scare him. It was him who set the wolfhounds after us, so let's call it even."
"Grandpa, you don't know, we weren't even awake yet when those dozen wolfhounds suddenly appeared and chased us and bit us." Eric spoke in a very exaggerated manner with a very pompous expression.
"If we run a step slower, our lives will be in danger."
Anci, "..."
Brother, this is a bit too much.
An Zhenxiong glanced at him and said, "That was part of the training. Hong Wei was already showing mercy."
If it were an enemy, Hong Wei would have taken ruthless action long ago.
An Ci quickly changed the subject, "Grandpa, we know that Master Hong is doing this for our own good, so I decided to find a time to treat him to a meal."
An Zhenxiong looked at the kid who was clinging to his legs and snorted, "Forget it, the hall master probably won't want to see you again in the near future."
After a pause, he changed the subject and said, "You are quite brave. You even dared to kill a wolfhound."
His voice was filled with laughter, and there was an inexplicable hint of pride in his tone.
An Ci looked up at him, the corners of his mouth curved, "It's up to you. You have to be brave."
An Zhenxiong was so coaxed by her that his eyes were full of smiles. He reached out and rubbed her head, "Hurry up and take a shower. Your clothes are smelly."
"Yes, I'll go right away." An Ci stood up and ran upstairs quickly.
Seeing this, Eric quickly slipped back to his room.
By the time the two of them went downstairs, it was already an hour later.
Seeing that An Zhenxiong hadn't left yet, An Ci came up to him with a smile. Her hair, which hadn't dried yet, was a little messy, covering her smiling eyes and eyebrows. Her voice was still soft. "Grandpa, I want to discuss something with you."
An Zhenxiong glanced at her and instinctively felt that she would definitely ask him something next.
"I want to go back to the capital in the next few days." Knowing that it was useless to beat around the bush with him, An Ci went straight to the point.
"Just three or four days."
really.
An Zhenxiong raised his eyebrows, with an expression of expectation, "We agreed that you can only go back after the New Year."
"But I haven't been back this year." An Ci pouted, grabbed his arm and shook it. "Grandpa, please, just because I did okay during this training camp, let me go back for a few days."
An Zhenxiong suppressed his laughter and asked, "Who said your training performance was okay?"
An Ci chuckled, his beautiful peach blossom eyes tinged with a sly smile, "If my performance is not up to standard, can you agree to end the training camp early and let us come back?"
An Zhenxiong was speechless for a moment.
Although this is the truth, he cannot admit it, otherwise the little guy's tail will be up to the sky.
"I was inconsiderate during this training session. Next time, I'll arrange for you to train alone."
An Ci struck while the iron was hot and said, "Experience is fine, but first you have to agree to let me go back for a few days."
She agreed so readily that An Zhenxiong felt a little uncomfortable. "Why do you have to go back?"
"I miss my parents." An Ci lied without blinking.
"I haven't seen them in a while, and my sister is going to participate in the school's art performance, so I need to go and cheer her on."
When An Zhenxiong heard this, he believed it, thinking that she had not been back this year.
"It's not impossible for you to go back, but there are conditions."
An Ci's eyes lit up, "What conditions?"
"You must study hard when you come back, and do well in the exam at the end of the year." Over the years, An Zhenxiong has been really worried about her studies.
An Ci thought it was something big, but it was just this, too simple.
She nodded repeatedly, "Okay, I promise to do well in the exam. As for the elders, please ask for leave for me, Grandpa."
An Zhenxiong stretched out his finger and tapped her forehead. "It's only four days. No cheating."
An Cikuang nodded, "I know."
"Okay, I have a meeting to attend, you go have lunch." An Zhenxiong stood up and left.
As soon as he left, Ari came down, changed into a white casual suit, and looked like a nobleman again.
"Is grandpa gone?" He looked around.
An Ci stood up and walked towards the dining room, "Let's go."
Eric lazily followed her and said, "I've already asked someone to contact the captain of the Fire Team about what you asked me to do. I should have news in the next couple of days."
Walking into the dining room, An Ci pulled out a chair and sat down. "Let's postpone this for a few days. I need to go back to the capital."
"Back to the capital?" Eric looked surprised. "Why are you back to the capital?"
Aunt Hong brought two bowls of rice and was surprised to hear that An Ci was going back to the imperial capital.
"The Patriarch agreed?"
An Ci said "hmm".
"When are you going back?" Aunt Hong asked.
An Ci took the bowl she handed him, picked up his chopsticks and ate a mouthful of rice, his voice unclear, "Tomorrow."
Aunt Hong handed another bowl of rice to Eric and looked at her questioningly, "So urgent?"
"I'll only be back for four days. I have clothes and other things at home, so I don't need to pack." An Ci picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork ribs and gnawed on it. The corners of his eyes curved slightly when he thought about going back.
"No, why are you suddenly in such a hurry to go back to the capital?" Eric sat opposite her, looking confused.
It was surprising that grandpa actually agreed to her request.
An Ci said, "My sister is going to participate in the art performance, I'm going to cheer her on."
Eric rolled his eyes, not believing her at all. "Who are you kidding? Is this the only reason you'd rush back?"
