Chapter 176 Five Years Later
He looked down at his phone with such concentration that he didn't even notice her approaching.
An Ci pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down. "What are you looking at?"
Yuan Qi raised his eyes to look at her and smiled faintly, "The decoration team has revised the drawings and sent them to me."
An Ci crossed his legs, his fingers slightly bent, and tapped the table nonchalantly. "I'm going back to Continent M tomorrow. I'll leave this here to you."
Yuan Qi was stunned when he heard the news that she was leaving. "Will it take a long time for her to come back?"
An Ci said "hmm", "If nothing unexpected happens, I probably won't be back until the Chinese New Year."
After he finished speaking, Dali brought over two cold drinks, placed the strawberry milkshake in front of her, and drank another cup of milk tea himself.
An Ci picked up the cup, took a sip, and frowned slightly.
Too sweet and greasy.
It’s not as good as the milk tea shop in Nanyi High School.
She put the cup back on the table, then took out a card from her pocket and handed it to Yuan Qi, "This is for you."
Yuan Qi was puzzled, "What?"
"The company is just starting out, and we need a lot of money." An Ci lowered his voice and said, "If you're short of money, tell me anytime."
Yuan Qi looked at the card in her hand and inexplicably felt a sense of trust. He reached out and took it, smiling, "Aren't you afraid that I'll run away with the money?"
An Ci pursed his lips, his peach blossom eyes shining brightly beneath the brim of his hat, a radiant smile on his face. "How dare you cheat a child out of their money?"
Yuan Qi put the card in his pocket, glanced at her, and said jokingly, "Even the old fox is not as smart as you."
Although he had only been with her for a few days, the intelligence she displayed was completely unlike that of a child of her age. Sometimes she even felt ashamed of herself.
"What do you usually study in school?" he asked curiously.
An Ci said, "I'm not in school."
Yuan Qi didn't understand, "What do you mean?"
Where else can she go to class if not at school? And didn’t she say she wanted to go back to Continent M to attend classes?
An Ci didn't know how to explain it to him for a moment. After thinking for a while, she said, "My grandfather hired a teacher to teach me at home."
Yuan Qi suddenly realized, and was surprised and a little bit unbelievable, "So you have never been to school since you were a child?"
The "boy" opposite nodded, and Yuan Qi suddenly understood where her excellence came from. She had been trained according to the elite model since she was a child, no wonder she was so mature mentally.
He returned to the point and asked, "The drawings have been revised. Do you want to take another look?"
An Ci nodded, Yuan Qi picked up his phone and sent her the drawings, and got into work mode in a second.
On the side, Dali drank milk tea and listened to their conversation quietly.
It was almost ten o'clock and An Ci was ready to go back. Yuan Qi followed him out of the cafe.
The rain stopped, and the ground was wet everywhere. An Ci paused, tilted his head, and raised an eyebrow at him, "Contact me anytime if you need anything."
Yuan Qi nodded and said, "Have a safe trip."
An Ci nodded and got into the car. Yuan Qi saw the car window lowered and a hand stretched out from inside and waved at him.
Yuan Qi chuckled and waved his hand like her. The next second, the car sped away like an arrow, raising a cloud of dust and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
…
The next day, just after dawn, An Ci was woken up by the alarm clock.
This time, she didn't lie in bed for the first time. She turned off the alarm clock and got up to wash up.
When Aunt Hong came over, she was already dressed and carrying her suitcase and backpack, ready to go downstairs.
"Let me do it." Aunt Hong reached out and took the suitcase from her hand, and asked softly, "Are you really not going to tell your uncle and the others?"
An Ci threw his backpack over his shoulder and lowered his voice, "Let's talk about it when we get to the airport."
She hates farewells the most, as they make everyone feel bad.
Seeing that she had made up her mind, Aunt Hong stopped trying to persuade her and helped her carry the suitcase downstairs.
The two of them took Fugui out quietly. It was dark and Dali was standing by the car waiting.
Seeing them come out, Dali walked forward and took the suitcases. He picked up one in each hand and put them into the trunk easily and effortlessly.
An Ci got into the car, glanced at Villa No. 2, then looked in the direction of Villa No. 3, slightly lost in thought.
Dali returned to the driver's seat and looked at An Ci through the rearview mirror with a questioning look, "Young Master, are we leaving?"
An Ci came back to his senses and said, "Let's go."
After saying this, he started the car and left.
An Ci kept her word and didn't send An Lan a message to say goodbye until just before boarding the plane. Then she was bombarded with messages from An Lan, most of which were about reminding her to take care of herself.
An Ci felt that the family affection she lacked in her previous life was made up in this life, and even doubled. She was very satisfied and enjoyed it.
After replying the message, she turned off the screen, closed her eyes and began to catch up on her sleep.
…
After returning to Continent M, An Ci rested for a day and was then assigned to classes.
Although An Zhenxiong had already given her a heads-up, An Ci was still shocked when she saw the class schedule.
The classes are packed from morning to night, and it’s suffocating just looking at them.
An Ci counted carefully and found that apart from the time for eating and sleeping, even her lunch break was deprived.
To be honest, this is not just a little bit cruel.
It's simply inhumane.
An Ci couldn't stand the class after one day, so he ran to An Zhenxiong with his class schedule to complain.
But after reading the schedule, An Zhenxiong didn't think it was wrong and even asked her, "Is there any problem?"
An Ci's mouth twitched, and then he slumped down on the table, looking pitifully at An Zhenxiong and saying, "Grandpa, this class schedule is too full. Look at me, I have dark circles under my eyes."
