"Get lost." An Lan chuckled, passed him by, and noticed Shen Mo behind him.
Her eyes lit up and she asked, "Whose child did you kidnap?"
"It's my brother's." Shi Che stepped aside to let them in. "It's a long story. Come inside and we'll talk."
The group came to the living room, and Shi Che poured them a glass of water and said, "We just moved in, so we don't have any tea leaves. You can just make do with what you have."
After saying that, he sat down next to Shen Mo.
Since they were not outsiders, Song Xiunian and An Lan naturally did not mind these things. Song Xiunian looked at him and asked in a familiar tone, "How long can you stay in the Imperial City this time?"
"I don't know." Shi Che leaned back and crossed his legs. "Let's talk about it after the New Year."
Song Xiunian and An Lan were surprised to hear that he was going to stay in the imperial capital for the New Year. Shi Che's whereabouts were erratic, and he often flew around the world and rarely stayed in one place for so long.
"You're not kidnapping children and coming here to hide, are you?" An Lan teased.
"Eh, am I such a person?" Shi Che was speechless. He raised his chin towards Song Xiunian and said, "Take care of your wife."
Song Xiunian smiled and said, "She has the final say in our family."
An Lan snorted and laughed complacently, and Shi Che looked at him with disgust in his eyes.
Look at what he has achieved. He is dominated by his wife.
After reminiscing about the past, Shi Che glanced at Shen Mo and said, "Xiao Mo, this is your Uncle Song and Aunt Lan, say hello."
Shen Mo stood up and said calmly, "Uncle Song, Aunt Lan."
Song Xiunian smiled and nodded, then turned his gaze back to Shi Che, asking him what was going on with his eyes.
Shi Che looked at Shen Mo and said softly, "Xiao Mo, go upstairs and pack your luggage first. Tell me if you need anything."
Knowing that they had something to talk about, Shen Mo nodded, turned and went upstairs.
When he heard the door closing upstairs, Shi Che pinched his brows and the nonchalant smile on his face disappeared.
"Xiao Mo's parents passed away a while ago." His throat was tight and his voice was a little hoarse.
Song Xiunian and An Lan looked at each other and felt a little pity for Shen Mo in their hearts.
The couple didn't say anything, just listened quietly to Shi Che continue.
"Before they passed away, they entrusted Xiao Mo to my care. Xiao Mo was just discharged from the hospital yesterday. I wanted to change his environment, so I brought him here to settle down." Shi Che supported his knees with his hands, lowered his head, and his sadness was hard to hide in his words.
After knowing each other for so many years, Song Xiunian and An Lan had never seen him like this. It was conceivable that Xiao Mo's parents had a close relationship with him.
"Xiao Mo has been a very sensible child since he was young. He always keeps things to himself. I brought him here because I thought your place would be more lively and would make him feel less lonely. Besides, you know that I'm alone and can't take care of a child." Shi Che pulled his hair and looked up at the two of them.
"If I'm not here in the future, can you help me take care of Xiao Mo?"
Accustomed to his playful and smiling face, An Lan was a little uncomfortable with his sudden sentimentality and grabbed a pillow and threw it at him.
"Friends are fake, right?"
Asking if it's okay for such a small matter shows that you don't consider them as friends.
Shi Che caught the pillow, threw it aside, and pursed his lips, "Then Xiao Mo and I will often go there for free meals."
"You talk like you've never done that before."
An Lan was silent for a moment, looked upstairs, and lowered her voice, "So what are you going to do next?"
"Find a school for Xiao Mo to attend." Shi Che leaned back, tilted his head back, and suddenly felt like a father. "Where does your child go to school?"
Song Xiunian said, "My eldest brother's son and Xiaoxi are both in Nanyi Primary School. Why don't we transfer Xiaomo there as well so that he can be taken care of in school."
"That's fine." Shi Che nodded.
"What grade is Xiao Mo in?"
Shi Che thought for a moment and said, "I really don't remember what grade he is. He's seven." He picked up the cup and drank water. He smiled and said, "Don't look at that kid as he's only seven. He's smarter than anyone else. Let's just assign him to a third, fourth, or fifth grader."
He rarely praised others. Song Xiunian saw a hint of pride in his eyes and eyebrows. He smiled faintly, "You look a bit like a father now."
"Of course I must." Shi Che raised his head and chuckled, "I'm counting on him to take care of me in my old age."
An Lan laughed and called him shameless.
The sad atmosphere was swept away.
Shi Che raised his eyebrows. "Oh, right, I remember your youngest son was three years old. Where's he? Bring him over so I can play with him."
At this point, a flash of longing flashed across An Lan's eyes. She held her chin in her hands and said helplessly, "My dad took me to Continent M. I won't be back until the Chinese New Year."
Shi Che knew a little about her family's situation. He propped his head up with one hand and sighed, "Your father is too impatient. He's already starting to act like an heir to a three-year-old."
"By the way, what's my nephew's name?"
"An Ci, didn't I tell you before? You can't even remember two words. What kind of memory do you have?" An Lan also complained about him.
Shi Che asked, "Are there any photos?"
"have."
As a crazy person who likes to show off her children, An Lan immediately took out her mobile phone, opened an album in the phone, and then handed the phone to Shi Che.
"These are all the things Ah Hong sent me recently. I thought she wouldn't be used to living with my dad, but unexpectedly, she adapted so quickly."
When An Ci was mentioned, An Lan's face was filled with a gentle smile.
Shi Che flipped through the photos in the album. They were all daily photos, and judging from the angles, they were candid shots. The child looked very delicate, and had inherited all the good qualities of his parents. He was comparable to Xiao Mo.
"Looks pretty smart." He returned the phone and glanced at An Lan. "It feels more like you."
"Don't let my dad hear you say that." An Lan couldn't help laughing when she thought of Aunt Hong telling her about An Ci's glorious deeds on the phone. "This kid has been causing a lot of trouble in Continent M. My dad can't do anything about her. I heard she even made the Great Elder faint from anger."
She was wronged. She was not so naughty when she was a child.
After hearing this, Shi Che wanted to meet his nephew even more. An Zhenxiong was a very capable person. There were not many people who could make him helpless.
…
M continent, manor.
Because of the previous incident where the Great Elder fainted from anger, An Zhenxiong sent Aunt Hong to keep an eye on her.
An Ci was in class inside, so Aunt Hong moved a chair and sat at the back door to watch.
As a result, An Ci had to be more obedient temporarily. At the beginning, she could still sit upright and listen to the class, but later on she just fell asleep on the table.
That day, Aunt Hong was busy and did not come to supervise her.
An Yiheng and the others also came to this fencing class, and the person teaching them was the fourth elder.
Although the Fourth Elder is a bit old, he was a fencing master when he was young and won many championship trophies.
As soon as he entered the fencing room, An Yiheng and others immediately stood up to greet him.
"Fourth Elder."
The fourth elder nodded, glanced at them, and found that one person was missing.
He frowned, "Why didn't the young master come?"
