After a while, Shen Mo came over holding a box.
Fugui thought it was food, so he moved closer and used his head to push the box in Shen Mo's hand.
Shen Mo didn't know whether to laugh or cry, "Fugui, this is not edible."
Fugui didn't believe it. He tilted his head back and rubbed the box with his nose. After making sure it wasn't food, he lay on the ground, too lazy to move.
An Ci looked at it speechlessly.
As for that, she usually feeds it a lot, right?
"Here, a gift." Shen Mo put the box next to her, with a hint of nervousness in his eyes.
An Ci looked at him inquiringly, "Then should I open it?"
Shen Mo nodded, and in front of him, An Ci slowly opened the box.
What comes into view is a wind chime. The light-colored shells have been cut and polished to show beautiful curves. Pearls are used as embellishments, and they glow with a lustrous halo under the light, giving it a unique beauty.
She hung the wind chime and held it to the window. A cool breeze blew by, bringing with it a crisp and pleasant sound.
An Ci curled his lips and looked back at the person behind him, "When did you prepare this?"
Looking at the smile on her face, Shen Mo guessed that she must like this gift, and he breathed a sigh of relief. "Last time, when I was on leave due to a leg injury, Uncle Che took me to a friend's resort hotel. There were a lot of shells on the beach, and I picked up some."
An Ci was stunned. "You made this yourself?"
Shen Mo raised his lips and said, "I found a teacher to teach me."
An Ci turned his head to look back at the wind chime and was so shocked that he couldn't speak. This wind chime was actually made by him.
She thought he bought it.
After a long moment, she came back to her senses and blinked, "How long did it take you to do this?"
Shen Mo stepped forward and brushed his fingers across the shell. "It seems to be more than two weeks."
An Ci stared at him for a while and said, "If you're short of money in the future, you can make a living with this skill."
Shen Mo frowned at her sudden inspiration. He needed to rely on this skill to make a living, so how badly must he be doing?
"This pearl can't be picked up, right?" An Ci studied the wind chime curiously.
"No, that resort hotel has pearl oysters. I bought some and opened them." Shen Mo said.
An Ci took a quick look and saw that there were more than ten pearls on the wind chime, each of them plump and lustrous, obviously of top quality.
She asked him, "Brother, how many clams have you opened?"
Shen Mo thought about it and said uncertainly, "More than 30."
Not every oyster can produce the best pearls. He wanted to give her the best, so he threw away any uglier pearls.
An Ci raised an eyebrow. "More than thirty clams and only a dozen pearls?"
"More than that." Shen Mo said truthfully, "I threw away some of the ugly ones."
It was obviously his request that was too high, An Ci complained in his heart.
"Can you take this back to Continent M and hang it in your room?" Shen Mo asked tentatively.
An Ci didn't answer immediately, but just asked him, "Why did you think of giving me this?"
Shen Mo said, "Why should I? I just gave it to you if I wanted to."
An Cicai didn't believe it. "Well, if you tell me the reason, I'll listen to you and bring the wind chime back to Continent M and hang it in my room."
It must be said that An Ci was very good at controlling Shen Mo. Upon hearing this, Shen Mo was immediately shaken, "Will it stay hanging?"
An Ci nodded.
After getting a definite answer, Shen Mo lowered his eyes and whispered, "It will take a long time for you to come back after you go to Continent M. I'm afraid that after a long time, you will forget me."
Whenever the wind chimes sounded, she might think of him.
An Ci smiled knowingly and shook the wind chime. "With this, you don't have to be afraid. I'll hang it up when I get back and take a picture of it for you to see."
The shells collided with each other, making a crisp sound. Shen Mo met her gaze and they smiled at each other.
"good."
