Chapter 12: Retreat to Advance
In the villa's cloakroom, Yu Yin was searching for her wedding ring in the jewelry room. She was so dazzled by the search that she almost mistook a ring of similar style for a wedding ring. She looked carefully and found that there was no "C&L" engraved on the inner ring, only then did she realize that she had made a mistake.
Hong Kong Cantonese pinyin is slightly different from Mandarin pinyin. "Zhao" is Chiu and "Liang" is Leung.
Yu Yin subconsciously felt that the accessories should be placed here, but she was not sure now, so she decided to send a message to Yu Meimei.
A while after the message was sent, Yu Meimei replied to her and said that accessories with special meaning or that are particularly valuable should not be stored in the cloakroom, and then tactfully told her that she did not know the specific location of the items.
Yu Yin said good night to Yu Meimei. She stood up straight, her glass-like eyes moving around. Eliminating the interference of her subconscious, she vaguely remembered that she had put her wedding ring in the bedroom.
After taking a shower, Zhao Shunian returned to the bedroom and saw Yu Yin looking for something in front of the cabinet.
Yu Yin noticed someone coming in, turned his head and saw Zhao Shunian, his eyes unconsciously moved down to the wedding ring on the ring finger of his left hand.
She rarely saw him take off his wedding ring, and he always wore it when he went out. But don't think he cherished the ring because he loved her so much. He wore it for others to see, to reassure people and stabilize the stock price.
If one day he is suddenly seen or photographed without his wedding ring, rumors of a marriage breakdown may flood in, and the impact will be incomparable to that of a scandal that has no solid evidence and is entirely fabricated based on a photo of his back.
Yu Yin's gaze was too obvious, and Zhao Shunian knew what she was looking at. "Don't tell me you even forgot where you put your wedding ring."
Yu Yin immediately looked away and said stubbornly, "I didn't tell you. You guessed it yourself."
Zhao Shunian felt that Yu Yin was a person who was very good at taking advantage of others and climbing up the ladder.
In all the years he had known her, he had only seen her cry uncontrollably twice. One time was at night when she was hiding under the quilt and crying silently, which he discovered.
He asked her why, but she refused to tell him. She had to be coaxed into telling him that she didn't like being in Hong Kong, and she didn't like being in the old house. She wanted to go back to the mainland.
Yu Yin could actually go anywhere she wanted, as long as it was safe, but that didn't mean she could settle down somewhere else permanently. Zhao Shunian felt that Liang Lisheng's initial actions had gone too far, practically clipping her wings. She had become incredibly obedient, not only listening to him but also Liang Lisheng.
Zhao Shunian happened to be in mainland China on a business trip, so he took Yu Yin to Beijing for a short stay to give her a change of scenery. After a while, she said she wanted to work. After discussing the matter with her family, she offered two options, but she chose neither. Instead, she told him she wanted to open a studio.
In his heart, he actually disapproved of it, but she had been acting submissive and obedient in front of him during that time, saying that if he didn't agree, she would refuse her friends and would listen to his arrangements. This tactic of retreating in order to advance made him unable to say no for a while, and he said he would consider it.
Concessions lead to more concessions. Zhao Shunian asked Zhuang Jie to investigate whether her friend was reliable. After the friend was found to be reliable, he checked for her. Zhuang Jie also made arrangements to open a studio, and the studio was established.
Then Yu Yin settled down in the capital and managed the studio. Her true nature gradually began to reveal itself, and their relationship eventually became what it is today. She relaxed, not wearing her wedding ring if she didn't want to, and she didn't take it personally, putting it wherever she took it.
Zhao Shunian knew she had deliberately cried that night for him to see; she had planned it all along. She was afraid of Liang Lisheng's tactics, unable to break free from his control, so she used his strength against him, plotting against him. Her scheming was extraordinary.
He happened to be happy with this. He didn't want to see a wife who obeyed her father's orders and ended up harming his interests...
Yu Yin finally found her wedding ring. She turned around and found Zhao Shunian sitting leisurely on the sofa, looking at her as if he was watching a show.
She walked up to him, sat directly on his lap, opened her palm, and the wedding ring was in her palm.
Yu Yin's long eyelashes flickered, and her eyes, like autumn water, looked at Zhao Shunian. "Mr. Zhao, it would be ungentlemanly to keep a lady waiting for too long."
Zhao Shunian took the ring from her hand and said, "Ms. Yu Yin, do I need to say marry me before you will wear it?"
"Anything is fine." Yu Yin turned his palms downwards.
Zhao Shunian cooperated very well and said affectionately, "Marry me."
He put the ring on her finger, then he took her hand and kissed her on the lips. The kiss became deeper and deeper, becoming part of the love affair.
As Yu Yin was sinking into despair, she suddenly thought of something. She pushed him away with all her strength and asked him, panting slightly, "Have you had a checkup?"
Zhao Shunian got angry when he heard this and said sullenly, "It's done, no problem. I wonder if you're satisfied?"
Yu Yin's curly hair was a little messy, and her nightgown was half-taken off. She leaned in Zhao Shunian's arms. Zhao Shunian put one hand around her waist and opened his mobile phone with the other hand to show her the physical examination report.
After Yu Yin said "hmm", Zhao Shunian turned off his phone and kissed and bit her lips fiercely.
